+ 2 Heartburn / Acid reflux
What’s up fellas.. I have had really bad heartburn/acid reflux problems for the last year now & it’s a pain in the ass. I have it whether I’m on cycle or off, it doesn’t matter. I eat tons of food which I’m positive is the main reason. It started for me a year ago I was coughing like crazy & could barley eat food without gagging. I would throw up every time I brushed my teeth & post workout because pre workout is like the worst thing to take while having heartburn. I put up with that for about 6 months like an idiot. Then finally went to the doctors & got prescribed your basic heartburn medication & boom.... solved my problem. When taking the medication, I literally don’t have ZERO heartburn. It’s amazing. But the second I stop taking it the heartburn is back in 2 days.
Do you guys deal with similar problems? I feel like it’s a bodybuilder thing. Please share If you have to deal with the same shit I’d love to hear.

Tablespoon of apple cider vinegar takes care of it for me
Lots of people swear by it. I’ll have to give it a try.
Works for me, kills it instantly, burns like hell though.
What a baby! Lol
I chase it with 20yr aged scotch
Aaahhh. Good choice.
For me, the one thing that helped me the most and has all but completely stopped my AR without drugs was converting to the 16/8 intermittent fasting. Only time I ever really get it now (and it is VERY mild) is if I have too many coffee’s (if I have more than one per day for several days I start getting very mild symptoms).
And by the 16 hours fasting I mean not having anything other than plain water between 9pm and 1pm the next day, not even a diet soft drink, a coffee, supplements, nothing. I believe this downtime gave my body time to heal my gut a little bit each day and after a few weeks I noticed the difference and it just got better and better over the course of several months until it was sorted!
I think so many years of constantly eating/drinking with the typical bodybuilding diet along with tren did the damage that caused mine in the first place.
I have had stomach ulcers twice in the last 30 or so years including Acid Reflux (AR). I now take 20mg Omeprazole daily and have never had a problem with ulcers and AR since then (last 20 years). Yeah, there's a lot of negative comments out there about PPIs (Protein-Pump Inhibitors) - but I have had no side-effects (even after long term use), and I can eat almost anything without a problem....if I stop taking them for a day or two - anything I eat causes AR. My Cardiologist even prescribed them because of the effect that blood thinners can have on the stomach lining...so, I'm a big fan.
Addendum: PPIs can affect the efficacy of some drugs, so if you are on medications, talk to your Doc before buying them - but interestingly enough, a lot of OTC meds for AR have Omeprazole in them - so they can't be THAT bad for you....and as for a bodybuilding thing - a high protein diet is actually good for you if you suffer AR....so if you are bulking and consuming lots of carbs, then maybe your AR is worse.
I had reflux and developed esophagitis. I was coughing and gasping for air in the middle of the night, felt like I had sleep apnea. I was put on PPIs for three months, the esophagitis healed and I was eventually able to taper off the meds while following a strict diet.
Mine was caused by too much stomach acid so things like ACV would make it worse, if you're reflux is due to too little stomach acid then ACV may help. There's also a correlation between thryoid function and stomach acid levels so I'd recommend blood work. I found the site below most helpful for diet info.

Yes, it came on like a mother fucker in my mid 20's and I have to take prescription meds for it. My symptoms are the exact same as yours. It's not a big deal as long as I take the meds, but it always flares up when I run tren.
Yes brother, I periodically have this problem. I stopped drinking hot coffee and came to mix espresso with water to cool it. You can’t eat hot food. You also need to pay attention after what particular products this happens and stop for a while. The best medicine for me is omeprazol. This thing helps stop gastric juice for at least 12 hours without side effects. Usually I take 3-4 days and after that for a long time everything goes away for me. I learned a lot about this topic and it is very dangerous, because in fact we can not always feel how acid burns the esophagus, which can lead to cancer. Need to keep track of this.
what's your expresso protocol ? Coffee is an issue for me.
I've been on omeprazole since 02 but came off like 6 months ago. All proton inhibitors will cause kidney damage. Luckily I'm good but not risking it. Was on zantac until recalled, now take pepcid. Be safe bro!
Thanks for the info. I’m on omeprazol too. You’re not the first person I’ve heard the throat cancer thing from. It makes a ton of sense. I’m going to try to find as many natural remedies as I can to hopefully get off the meds.
Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar will put an end to heartburn forever.
How much/how often?
Roger that. For some reason I’ve never given it a go. But I most definitely will, since you believe in it that much lol.
Right!
Kevin Trudeau 's natural cures they dont want you to know about.
Google this. Yes the guy was a crook and did some real shady shit but his cures are legit.
I would about burst into flames collapse on the floor in the shop and eat rolaids of the shelf by the hand full.
BAD!
One night I was up in the middle and watching infomercials.
There is was. The dumbest shit ever.
Drink pickle juice .
A cup every day. I do in the morning.
The theory is we dont digest the food we eat and need help . I couldn't take it any more and started this one cup a day for 30 days.
20 years have gone buy and I have had it maybe three time since.
It is a miracle
I really appreciate the info brother. I will look into it right now.
I fight with this prob since years , Nexium helps me but as soon as I start bulking it comes back...
Orals are a no go for me except proviron, and oxa.
If I use other oral compounds than only for pre workout, example: 50mg drol WITH A MEAL 1hr before wo, here I get no probs !
I do 14 day runs with Nexium and then stop. Typically I wont have heartburn again for 6-8 weeks and then it usually returns.
Thanks for the info brother. Orals are a no go for me too. Shit man as soon as I take an Aromasin capsule I feel like my chest is gonna explode.
roughdogAcid reflux and indigestion are the story of my life until I cut calories down. When I eventually work up to calories around 5000-6000 calories the acid reflux I get is unbearable unless I take zantac (now off the shelves) I now take nexium which is a ton more expensive.
So yeah mate I agree with it being a bodybuilder thing especially bodybuilders on high calories. I don’t have any gym buddys that have this problem but none are on the calories intake i’m on when i’m in a surplus.
Currently on a cruise and maintaining during this isolation and I haven’t took indigestion tabs at all since my calories dropped down to around 2500-3000 and have no acid reflux at all.
What medication did they prescribe you?
I’m on Omeprazole 20mg a day. I take it 20 min before breakfast. I am trying to spread it out as much as possible the longest I can go is once every 3 days before the heartburn is unbearable. Also, with this covid-19 situation I’m home all the time, so I’ve been eating egg whites & cream of rice 6 times a day so that’s helped a lot. As soon as I’m back at work & eating meal prep chicken/beef & rice the heartburn will come back quicker. My pharmacist made it very clear to me that if I take it for longer than a year it may result in Osteoporosis when I get older.
