So I'm hairy as shit. I'm of Mediterranean descent. Greek and Italian. So I'm short, bald, wide and hairy. Very hairy. While covered in hair, it's hard to see definition and tone or even build. So a constant upkeep is in order for guys like me.
I have tried several different methods of removal. The first thing I tried was shaving with a razor. The more blades, the easier the hair came off. I tried going against the grain, that sucked. Mad ingrown hairs and whitheads after. Going with the grain is more difficult for the actual removing of hair but is worth it in the end. Using too much shaving cream also makes it more difficult to get the hair off. So I use minimal shaving cream. This is not my favorite method as it does cause irritation.
I also tried waxing. My wife got a wax machine, and the strips to pull the hair off. This fucking blows balls. I bleed, and writhe in pain. The less hair the less pain, but like I said previously, I'm hairy as shit. This did make me smooth and leave little to no irritation. Ingrown hairs was not an issue after.
The last method was nair. I've tried the cream and the spray. The spray was the best. It covered more surface area easier. It burned somewhat but worked great and left me smooth and with little ingrowns afterwards. You need a partner for all these methods as it's impossible to get my own back so I get my wife to assist with this. I leave the nair on for ten minutes, no more. If left on too long, the burning becomes intense and my body becomes covered in welt like bumps. Lastly, do not, I repeat do not, get your nipples with this shit. I've made this mistake. My nipples were raw and on fire for two days. Every shirt irritated me and made me miserable.
Overall, nair is probability the best method. At least for me. It didn't seem to matter how thick or coarse my hair is. Which is good, bc shaving and waxing can become painful. Let me know what you guys use and if it's effective or not. I try to remain teachable. =)
