Gym opened. Spaghetti Legs.
ad
So my gym is back up and running. My first workout decision for all my built up rage over the lock-down, was leg day. Squats, leg press, leg curls, rowing machine and bike for cardio. Loaded up the bar and pushed like a mother. Luckily, I kept most of my strength, thanks to eating more to fight muscle loss. My gym partner ate less to not get fat and he lost weight, but lost weight on the bar too. Our legs felt like spaghetti after! But I missed that feeling. Excited to have my stress reliever back. Nothing like heavy lifting to ease the mind. I hope everyone can hit their gym soon. I know it drove me insane not being able to.
Update: Pretty sore but it feels great. That's just me tho. Cant wait to start again once recovery is finished

Is it bad that I enjoy the pain, tho? I take my recovery period just as serious as my training. It's the recovery that determines it all. The breaking down is just half the battle. I appreciate everyones advise. Seriously. I'll tone it down a bit. Just excited! Time for dinner.
I didn’t push legs nearly that hard. I stepped it up Tuesday a little bit on my second time doing legs since things opened. My knees were aching a little bit so I did High rep 30 reps on leg press 3 times high foot placement, 3 times of low foot placement and only 1 set of leg ext. And my legs are still sore today. Good luck sitting down on the toilet tomorrow and the next day.
Start slow my man. I did and I’m coming on week 4, just getting back to some serious working weight on legs now. I was not ready for it day 1.
Same here. Monday starts week 5 for me and if things keep going as planned will be the first time making strength gains since my gym closed in February. My "re-start" program was as follows (4 sets of 8 reps):
Week 1: 70% of pre-covid weight
Week 2: 80%
Week 3: 90%
Week 4: 100%
Week 5: Resume linear progression goals from pre-lockdown
He probably woulnt be able to walk tomorrow.
Lol I’ve made that mistake.
I was struggling to get off the shitter after my first leg day back and that was with 70% of pre-covid weight.
lol I was just about to say the toilets gonna be a real problem today or tomorrow for him
It's brutal man. Doing lunges with 40 lb dumbbells in either hand gets me worse than heavy squats or leg press.
I looooovvvvveeee the dumbbell lunges. Hurts so good.
Nice avatar update. Looks cool.
Thanks I have another one saved too. Going to use it next week. I have t seen a Graffix bong since I was a teenager. Not since people started blowing glass.
Right on! Given the things you’ve mentioned in your comments over the last year and our relatively close age I figured you would likely know what it was.
Well any dead head my age has had a graffix bong. They had the best for their time.
Never went to one, but I would love it when people I knew would come back from one. They had the goods, that’s for sure!
I watched ronnies interview on joe Rogan, one of his back injuries was exactly that. Took a few weeks off and came back expecting to push the exact same weight.
Thanks for the tip on the hairdryer btw, brought that DHB back to solution real quick and already had it in the bathroom.
I did it for mental therapy and to gauge where I was at. But you're probably right. I did workouts with what I had, but nothing compares to those heavy weights. That's good shit that you're pushing it bro. My next workout is chest, but that's after 48 hours or recovery and good eatin.
It’s gonna hurt tomorrow
I wouldn't have it any other way XD
