First time receiving gear

I just recently received my gear and upon taking off the plastic cap the whole aluminum housing along with the rubber stopper came off as well. After looking at the housing it appears it was crimped pretty shitty and just on one side and will not go back on. Is this gear worthless now due to it not be sterile. Aside from contacting the source is there anything I might be able to do? I have not posted this on a source review as I want to give them an opportunity to respond to my email but in the mean time just checking to see if its possilbe for "me" to fix the situation.

Thanks for the info. Will not use it, dont want my first run to be a bad one dealing with infection and shit. Even if it caused no harm psychologiclly I woudl be worried about it the whole time.

That should never happen. It's not very complicated to pop off those plastic caps so operator error is likely not the issue. Definitely get in touch with the source. Take a pic and send it to them. You can't leave the top open and expect it to stay usable. It really needs to be replaced bro.
Anonit's happened to me with a rather reputable source before, which i won't disclose here. i just shoved the rubber stopper back on and went about my business. i agree that wasn't the best move, considering that alone makes the integrity suspect. but i pinned that shit in less than two weeks.
Oh don't get me wrong, I've personally had it happen a few times. But my experience crimping vials tells me that it was probably installed wrong. The source should replace it for him. If I'm the source, I'll replace it for you homey lol.
