+ 1 Bloods in the UK
I was speaking off the record to my new GP (doctor) about my gear usage and he's happy to run various tests that him and I both agreed would be helpful.
Sounds all good but he said unfortunately he would have to put steroid use on my record. Now I'm all for health but if it's at a cost later on in life I would prefer to explore other options. Here in the UK the only people who are and to look at your medical records are you, your doctor, DVLA (Driver Vehicle Licensing Authority) and the police.. At the moment.
I'm concerned that steroids being put on my records won't effect right now but with the political climate in the UK could it in 10+ years time? Some examples..What if the NHS goes private then it would be impossible for me to get insurance or even changes in vehicle licensing as I use gear (plus more possibly reasons to long to list). Extreme I know but with steroid use on the rise it won't be long before some twat fucks it up for the rest of us and we become under the spot light.
What are your opinions brothers of iron?

I'm also in the UK and while use is frowned upon, not many people I know even comment on it. True story but I'll be brief- I ran M1T for 16 months while was a legal supplement- then had sleep problems. Was told couldn't have kids and would need to basically be on TRT for life due to it. I hadn't been officially taking a steroid- it was a supplement- since banned as was one of the most potent steroids known to man. Everything was pretty much fine on my bloods except no Test (confused me as I thought it was a Test booster- this was 15 years ago and info was taken from mags advertising it). My doc knows all this and I know having had a baby girl since that all is not dead down there so I'm currently looking into ways to come off (tried stopping but got really depressed and aggressive- my wife insists I stay on it until I can go to a specialised clinic to get a plan in action (personal circumstances make this difficult at present). I've told my doc this as it was THEM who told me I had to be on steroids due to M1T being a steroid that hadn't been classified. 90x 5mg was £15.99). I was actually a smug 23 year old proud of being natural. My doc has noted all this and it is important they know- if you have surgery they need to know for anaesthesia etc. You are correct it could possibly affect insurance at a later point, but smoking and drinking does already and that's legal. I can't see that declaring your formally legal use of anything (should it become illegal in the UK after the fact) will do anything other than raise your premiums. I can tell you that non-disclosure (worked in insurance for years) will void your cover. This is obviously referring only to the UK. In countries where using is a criminal offence obviously it's a different matter. Even when I recently went for surgery they asked what I was on and asked me to remain on during the healing process. I actually thought it would force the NHS to help me to have fertility treatment etc but not that lucky! As said below can't predict the future. But if happens I'll go for full disclosure or I'll be paying insurance for nothing. I've worked in private medical insurance for one of the largest companies and you'll be suprised how many claims get rejected because they've found a way out of it.
Dude im nobody can predict the future. Nobody can even know how UK economy will develop after the referendum. Just dont care about it.
I'll tell you what, im from Spain. There roids are treated loke cocaine. No legal difference. And even with that you go to a Spanish beach and every guy is cycled. And in the US its even worse, there police actually do their jobs.
The UK is the best country in western countries to get roids, believe me.
And if things change we can move to Russia. Just go to a pharmacy and get 100% pharma grade of anything you want without prescription l
With the advent of the anti-ageing industry and such, does anybody ever see steroids becoming legal at all? Perhaps not legal, but decriminalised?
Never in my lifetime. The big Pharma companies would never let it happen.
I think unfortunately here in the uk people have such a ridiculous view on steroids we her little hope in that, more of it becoming more illegal/frowned upon because of countless idiots committing crimes and blaming it on their steroid use.
Agree per the below and here is another option if you're London based or close - http://www.bloodhoundonline.co.uk/?gclid=CM3q5sPO4sYCFUFQ2wodWk8FpQ
I prefer them as they draw your bloods and you dont have to do it yourself with the finger prick test kit medichecks use and you can request uncapped testosterone numbers which as far as I know no other lab in the UK does. If the location works for you I suggest emailing them to discuss its private and the doctor who runs he lab is a good guy.
P.S. I am not affiliated with them in anyway
Unfortunately I'm not mate, thanks for the input though. I'll look into private doctors around my area as I'm sure there must be one or two.
What's the rough cost?
My doc is in London and very open minded luckily but I wouldn't just sign up at a new GP and pop in saying "yo doc, I need some pre cycle bloods" haha they'll ask questions and it might raise some eyebrows but it may not just depends on the doctor
Don't know mate. Private GP consultations in London are about £80 a pop and then you will have to pay for the blood work which will be more expensive than medichecks or bloodhound and then go back to the Private GP. Go with medichecks and then post them back here. Plenty of guys will help analyse them including me.
Thanks for all the input. I think medi are the one I'll go for, I wouldn't want steroids stamped on on my record for Theresa May to see! Shame my tax money wouldn't of helped me out!
Run the suggested tests through Medichecks. They ask no questions. You order the tests, pay, wait for email confirmation and instructions (these depend on the tests ordered) and it's professional enough. You also have the option to opt out of a doctor reviewing the results.
My only gripe is they don't mention what time of day is best and whether or not you should be fasted when you take the bloods.
Lots of people now have recommended these guys. Monk and CBBurrr (thanks for all the help) to name a few.
Any idea how accurate the pin prick is? Which one would you recommend?
I don't know about anyone else but the lancets they provide for drawing blood were frankly useless for me. I had to use a syringe and, having never done such a thing, even after watching some vids, I was bruised two weeks later. I think they offer a service to have blood drawn at various clinics. Great service otherwise, really quick door to door, online results etc.
Thanks for the vote of confidence mate. I'll book them for bloods when I get the chance.
All my tests required me to go into a clinic but for an extra £17 (I think) you can have a nurse visit you at home/nominated location. I'm sceptical of the finger pricks but only because I've only ever done them for HIV and it's been with a doctor.
P.S - I'm not affiliated with Medichecks. I have done 4 tests with them though.
My private GO consultation is £120 and then the tests range in price but I would have landed up paying close to £800 for my tests so these guys are a good alternative.
Some here recommend just a testosterone and oestrogen tests - make sure you do a test that includes free testosterone. I did the sports hormone ultraVit just because I wanted a full blood profile
That's a lot of cash!
I'll email medi today and ask about the getting a nurse to pull my bloods. Like you I'm a little skepticle of the prick test.
I'll have a look at the mentioned test, and have a look at q few others also.
Keep your business to yourself and don't trust anyone. Do what you have to do to cover yourself and be accountable. Be safe and take responsibility for you own actions. Don't get yourself in a bind by sharing information with individuals that are going to talk about your business, whether they are a friend, or a healthcare professional. Only YOU know yourself...no one else knows you, bro. Stricter and tighter control of scheduled drugs makes licensed professionals with prescriptive ability better practioners, which enhances patient safety.
Can't help but agree MedDx, my head is telling me to go the private route but my wallet is saying GP. I don't mind spending £150 odd as long as its necessary.
Old man Growmore might thank me when our government allows anyone to view your medical records and steroids are now a A-class drug.
Any idea how precise the pin pick home blood tests are?
I believe medichecks have an option for your to pay extra to have a phlebotomist draw your bloods. Just contact them. Finger prick tests are apparently pretty reliable but you have to get quite a bit of blood which is annoying and painful and if there is a problem they won't have enough blood to retest. Wouldn't put any faith in tets done this way for electrolytes esp potassium.
I've never used them...
