Me Thursday I have my appointment happy to donate and respect bro + next time take a Pic bro
Got a pic, wont allow me to post.
I have Covid antibodies! So I have donated two times after I found out for the possibility of it getting to someone in need!
Molinin302Didn't you have before and after bloodwork results concerning donating whole blood?
Donating blood is a scam. They sell your blood for hundreds of dollars to hospitals. I sell my plasma once every 6 months, nice 600.00 check for doing it. Only donate if you desperately need to thats just my opinion.
If you want to donate to a good cause go offer your time to feed the homeless or volunteer to help at a homeless shelter. I also do that and on holidays I volunteer at the soup kitchen to feed people and clean up.
This is maybe second time I told anyone about it as I'm not looking for a pat on the back and handshake, I do it for my fellow man.
I’m in the uk and there’s no option to get paid for plasma or blood.
I’ve been donating every 3 months for about it 14 yrs I think. Obviously saves a few lives with a side benefit of being good for your health I’m told.
It's supposed to be once every 112 days for red blood donation and not more than 3 times a year
Your correct 112 is for Power Red donations, red blood cell is 56 days.
Yep sorry bud it’ll be three times a year then, they or the app now just says the earliest I can donate and I new it was somewhere between 3-4 months each time.
Its questionable if it really is good for you. Maybe if your blood is as thick as pudding then yes, but there have been studies that say you should not give blood every few months because it affects your immune system, it affects your overall health and hormones. The problem is your blood has to refresh itself back to normal levels which puts a strain on your bone marrow. Do a bone density test and make sure it hasnt affected your bones.
Hmmmm interesting! Never heard that about it affecting your bone marrow? You haven’t got any links have you? I did a quick google search and couldn’t find much?
I’ve seen quite a few studies which have shown significant reduction in all cause mortality rates amongst frequent long term blood donors amongst other benefits.

And here is the study on bone density issues

Thanks bud but first one I think the iron issue is much more of a problem for women than men (and probably even more so men who eat red meat fairly regularly like myself, the opposite seems to be true in that there seems to be evidence of removing excess iron being good for you from what I’ve read and that study you posted it says it’s a danger if you donate more than 3 times a year also.
Second one, I found that when I did my google search but dismissed it because it talks about apheresis which appears to be much different to giving blood ordinarily from what it was saying in that study but then when you posted that I thought I’d google what it meant and found this guide on the nhs England website and yes it is not normal blood donation so I don’t think it’s anything to worry about https://www.nhsbt.nhs.uk/what-we-do/diagnostic-and-therapeutic-services/...
Anon+1 this is new info to me. Thank you for supporting your information with source links bro
Give them a vote if you find it helpful.PermalinkHow do I add a damn pic to this thread in my reply?
With so many of these ''professor's'' posting about their.. Let's say interesting cycles lately. I would be worried who did donate next.
Molinin302I just go as soon as the wait time is up, red cross has a very convenient app
I'll be jumping on board with this. First timer, but won't be my last.
Good shit!
FKN " Professors" that cracked me up bro. Jumping on board and giving back I love it !
