Are these good sources for information on steroids?

ad

I have started my first cycle after doing TRT for a year. I've have the Ultimate guide to roids by Dan the bodybuilder from Thailand. I've also have Straight from the underground by John Doe Bodybuilding. I am reading these and am enjoying listening to their podcasts. Is the information good? Is any of their advice something I should be cautious of?
Thanks!

Is it fair to say Dan the Bodybuilder shouldn't be writing books such as The Ultimate guide to roids given he can't even source good gear and then expects the public to pay for his mistake?

Brithojen's picture

There's way more intelligent people out there other than dan the bodybuilder from Thailand. Anr he did have some weird injection gone bad that had him in a hospital for a while with a gofundme page to save his leg. He ended up keeping his leg

Somebody on here posted their whole e-book collection a while ago! I would go searching for that; I downloaded them a while back. It was like 30/40 books all together. Had some nice gems.

Wow, that is pretty awesome. Thanks

There are some gems in there. The PDF on the 5/3/1 program was a tremendous help. I did the program for 6 months. Maxes were as follows: bench 345, standing military press 225, squat 605 and dead lift 605. I can't put those numbers up now, norr do I want to get back on a power lifting routine. It beat the shit out of my body.

Spark's picture

A friend in the gym told me about the 5/3/1 program back in 2012. I went from doing power building type training to power lifting. And loved it. That program changed the game for me and I got strong AF off it.
Great training maxes I see you got from it ;}

Achak's picture

You see your numbers constantly improving. It is truly an amazing program. You need a gym partner when doing it. I workout alone so it isn't an option.

Spark's picture

I also work out alone. Never had a problem. Early on using this program I stopped asking people for a lift off in the gym. No matter how simply I explained and showed them how to do it they screwed it up. This would ruin my lift.
So I unrack on the bench myself. If the numbers start to get high enough I tell someone to stand behind and not to touch the bar unless I ask them. And if I ask just re-rack it. No touching the bar to try and finish the lift. If I cant get the lift on my own I missed the lift.
Deads you simply just drop the bar. Squats are fine in a power rack. You can just dump the weight.

press1's picture

Found out today why I struggle with my natural grip so much - My bar is 34mm thick!! Knurling has gone too so I tried to get a proper 27mm DL bar earlier on credit but the buggers declined me Lol Might have to rent my arse out for a few nights LOL

BJ's picture

Go on “ Silver Singles“ some 60 year old Nana will put you to work on a different type of pumping!!

press1's picture

Mmmm A 60 yr old for 15 minutes to get a £600 Texas Deadlift bar?!? With a tonne of bar flex and narrow shaft .....

Yeah ............. I'll do it LMAO

Spark's picture

I still mess around with my grip and which bar I use makes a differnce. When the gyms were open it seems I am still trying to tweak my bench technique. Funny you can bench a certain way for yrs and then one day change a simple thing such as grip and the bench improves and the bar path flows better.

Shittiest part of benching is if something is hurting your shoulder. Throws everything off and feels heavier and like your shoulders and going to snap off during the press.

press1's picture

If you have an injured shoulder then you just cannot bench heavy - end of story. Even warm ups can often be wrecked because of a knackered cuff. Yeah you can do speed work or bench light but after the workout it feels like you have only done a third of training, its shit.

Achak's picture

The bench press is all I'm concerned about. My gym is full of a bunch of pussies. I can't trust them to spot me. A good gym partner motivates you though. I was doing the program with this massive Eastern European. He was 6'3" at 280 lbs. He said I was the only workout partner he ever had that didn't quit. He would motivate me by pissing me off lol. Man those we good days in a way. I still keep in touch with him after I moved. The crazy thing I did the program completely natural. I wasn't even on testosterone. This was about 2 years ago. I wanted to see what I could do with just hard work and diet at 39. I impressed myself. I might give the program a whirl again. You got me reminiscing.

Spark's picture

I have to agree with you there. If you find a like minded training partner where you both motivate each other helps. I've seen people that stopped training with partners and training by themselves they have gotten weaker. Some people need a good partner for the motivation.

press1's picture

Jesus thats a Great Deadlift natural then!!

Achak's picture

He thought I was on steroids so he was pushing me like I was. He was shocked when I told him I was natural at the time. I had some issues in my life at the time where I couldn't do steroids. I was being court ordered tested due to a divorce. Ex-wife wanted to make me out to be some steroid junkie.

press1's picture

200 page FTS books on Max benching - I'm in heaven!!! LMAO

Achak's picture

Benching has always been a weakness of mine. I learned techniques from powerlifters that helped. It is hard to work on benching without a spotter.

press1's picture

I bench in a power rack as I train alone - without the safety rails I would be dead every other workout Lol

The principles are extremely simple for a Big bench: (according to press Lmao)

Bench twice a week - Every week!
Train using 1 to 3 reps, 100% intensity
Warm up then only do 2 working sets with the reps ending in almost failure
Rest between 5 to 10 minutes on all sets including warm ups

Do not do any other assistance work including shoulders, triceps or chest or you will be too sore next workout for heavy pressing. Each workout aim to increase working loads 1 to 2kg and do not look to achieve a pump or TUT. I achieved 470lb's when I was 185 using this method - its extremely simple and doesn't need to be as complicated as everyone makes out :-)

press1's picture

This is where you need to make the decision though T-Bone between size or strength. You can have both but ultimately concentrating on one will negatively affect the other. All I can say though is there are basic strength numbers that will always guarantee a good thick chest better than most people have - Thats why I was saying to you aim for 6 to 8 reps with 315 and you'll be solid. No doubt doing sets with 8 to 10 everytime will gain you more mass and size but at the cost of pure strength I'm afraid. Also doing flyes and dumbell presses will add further mass but when I do those I lose heavy low rep strength bench numbers.

Achak's picture

My gym doesn't have a power rack unfortunately. I completely understand the science behind what you're saying. I know it works from my own experience with powerlifting, I didn't follow this exact method but there is similarities.

press1's picture

Bloody hell dude - You are a LEGEND!

BJ's picture

After he reads all that he’ll be guru status! Lol

Achak's picture

Lol soon he will be educating me. Definitely great material. I am actually glad that you mentioned there was a thread. There are several books listed that I have wanted to read.

I enjoy reading articles and watching Youtube videos on www.moreplatesmoredates.com. He does excellent research on topics that are of great interest to me.

Isn't Dan the Bodybuilder the one who set up his own Gofundme page to get money off the public to help with his leg abscess/infection? Probably not the best person to take advice from .....

lxxRICHxxl's picture

I know he almost lost his leg by injecting a UG Lab steroid in Columbia into his thigh that had a flesh eating bacteria. I didn't know about the Gofundme page. Thanks for the info. I am always very wary to take advice naturally.

Achak's picture

I have a buddy who was doing massive amounts of dianabol. He flew home for the holidays and had to be hospitalized. Something about the pressured cabin inhibiting the liver from removing toxins from the bloodstream. I definitely don't advocate high dosages of orals.

press1's picture

Really!? Does the pressure in the cabin do that to the body.

Spark's picture

" Sitting still for extended periods of time can affect blood circulation and lead to the development of blood clots. Airplane flights of four hours or more may be a risk factor for deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE). "

press1's picture

I've always known about the DVT but the Liver malfunction is some scary stuff!!! Surely this is something Pilots and Airstaff have to be cautious of .....

Achak's picture

This was great. Man I miss Seinfeld

press1's picture

Shit - Someone's hacked Mol's account and changed his avatar too the basta**s .....

Spark's picture

Looking good bro keep at it..,no homo

You still have ab definition so you can't be considered fat in my book. I know what you mean though. I freaking gain a bunch of fat during the lock down.

Achak's picture

I bought some phentermine. I am ready to shed some fat. Hands down the best weight loss product that I have done.

Is that part of the Phen Phen stack that caused heart malformation, or something different?
