ALLERGIES!

ad

So i'm one of those genetic freaks who has absolutely no allergies to anything! No medications, no foods, nothing in the air, etc. Over the last few days i've been sneezing , coughing, watering & itchy eyes, runny nose, nasal passage seems to be closing up, but it stops completely after a few hours. I know the season is changing and ppl suffer during different seasons for different reasons with allergies. Am I suddenly developing allergies? Has anyone else had this happen out of nowhere? I'm doing some reading on the net about it but wanted to throw this out there just in case maybe it's gear related. Thoughts?

Update! I've been using Cdaddys vitamin c blast and about a week later all signs and symptoms of any allergies is gone. I have a little chest congestion but that's it. All the sneezing, coughing , irritated eyes ,runny nose all gone. Makes me wonder what ED said about the Methyl-Prednisolone (corticosteroid ) causing all this. I'm a few weeks our on the prednisone. But the only thing I've done differently other than stop the corticosteroid is blast vitamin c every day. Works for me. Thanks Cdaddy!

Well, after reading more of this last night and talking to my homo friend ED. It's very possible that the 6 day round of methylprednisolone is what triggered my allergic reactions. I'm about 4 days out of that treatment. In the past i had corticol steroid epidurals, this time it was tablets. They also made me feel pretty damn crappy! But anyway, day 1 of 4,000mg Vitamin C and zyrtec. I'm just hoping that i haven't triggered something permanent. Hopefully its temporary. this is terrible. I feel like I have a cold

I thought I was lucky until about a year ago when I started feeling like I want to scratch my nose off my face. I found that mold and household dust kick my ass. It is well controlled with half a zyrtec/day. God help me if I forget to take it. I almost wonder if treating it has made them worse.

Thanks for the input. I'm going to the pharmacy asap.

Just started 3 years ago, the pollen count was so bad I couldn't stop rubbing my eyes. Had it the next year and went away. The only thing I am allergic to is Southern Comfort.Seriously, 1 shot and my tongue swells up and I break out like I have chicken pox. But it might also be because I drank a liter at 15 and had to have my stomach pumped. That was not a pleasureful experience to say the least.

Nitti's picture

Well thats a pretty strange thing to be allergic to. Lol, whats in it that makes u react?

It almost killed me I guess my body just remembers and reacts. Shit you do when you are young and stupid.(But think you know it all)

I "was" like you until this year..35 years and never a problem! I would wake up and hub would say why are your eyes so puffy... I didnt think much of it. Thought probably need to drink more water....like a gallon a day isnt enough. A couple times at night would cough because my throat was scratchy again didnt think twice about it. Well i FINALLY went to the dr, she said you have allergies. I was like WTF! Then one day i was vacuuming and i lost my voice. Didnt think much of it again until the second time i vacuumed and same damn thing. I went to an allergist and have found i am severely allergic to dust mites. I now have epi-ed twice and carry one with me at all times. Crazy ass shit and for a while really brought me down. I couldnt even walk in the gym without feeling crap tightening up... All out of the blue! Now i know my limits and my hubby has taken over the vacuuming! Its a good and bad thing...good deal i dont have to ever touch a vac...bad i have to really watch what i do and where i go. Medications have helped level things out i can finally go back to the gym! You may want to see the doc..never know!

It definitely sucks! My wife has seasonal allergies and every sept-oct, she gets crazy flare ups. She was the one who suggested maybe i'm developing allergies. I'm tellin you I jumped up out of bed aftr about 10 minutes of coughing and clearing my throat. Finally I was in a panic, "i cant breathe, omg I cant breathe". My wife was like "you're talking u idiot, you can breathe", lol. I seriously worked myself up into a panic. I have an appointment in a week anyway for some blood work. In the meantime I think i'll do the vitamin C shock and take some zyrtec. Hopefully it doesn't make me sleepy! Thanks for the input!

HotPinkGirl's picture

Yeah def try some zyrtec try takin it before bed though, i made the mistake of takin it before work and almost face planted my head on my computer. I totally get ur anxiety about the unknown. Doc will totally fix ya up!!

Nitti's picture

I'll have the wife pick me some up. Thats over the cour right? In the mean time i'll do what Caddy says. Vitamin c and zinc. this sucks

fast48's picture

Yes. It does happen. Allergies can change as well. I used to carry epi-pin for bees. Got retested years later and showed no reactions at all. Enjoy! Allergies suck! Pseudofed works great for me. Benadryl makes me sleep. The slow release fancy pills weird me out. :(

Nitti's picture

I'm the same way. I look like i just banged a bag of dope when I take benadryl, lol

Nitti's picture

Thank you Caddy! Yes, this is helpful and I actually just got finished readin something similar so I know you aren't talkin out your ass! I currently take 1000mg Vit C a day. I'll up it to the dose you recommend. Hopefully I can get this under control! I have a new found respect for ppl with allergies. I used to tell my wife to stop bitchin, its just a sneeze lol. I damn near had a panic attack last night when I couldn't breathe right. I alo should mention, I just finished a round of Methyl0Prednosolone. It's a progesterone derivative or cortisol steroid. It was a 6 day treatment for severe back pain from disc herneation.. I wonder if that played a role now that you say my cordisol is suppressed by using anabolics

b.mo254's picture

Curious about this cortisol thing, I did some searching and found this http://www.cbn.com/health/naturalhealth/drsears_ravagesofstress.aspx where it talks about adrenal burnout and the function of cortisol. Very interesting

Nitti's picture

Makes me think cortisol is no good at all. Lol, but apparently we need it. Thanks for the article. I'm researching this entire topic as we speak

Nitti's picture

I keep typing "Caddy". My bad bro, lol. Apparently my sight is going too. Shit maybe i am getting old. HeeeeeHH? I can't hear ya!

Nitti's picture

Obviously a balance in all horemones is favorable but isn't cortisol a bad stress hormone? I mean isn't it something that as men we want to keep in check?

Engineereddisaster's picture

Actually corticosteroids suppress the immune system.

Engineereddisaster's picture

A cortisone shot acts as an anti inflammatory not because it boosts the immune system, it is given because the immune system is causing the inflammation thus the cortisone suppresses the immune system reducing the inflammation. Prednisone in tablet form also suppresses the immune system. When is cortisone or any corticosteroid used to boost the immune system?

Engineereddisaster's picture

Sorry, didn't mean to get all "supernova" on ya. Just wanted to make the clarification just to keep the kiddies from poppin their old mans prednisone to treat a cold, that and I know you are a man who appreciates the facts. Some times the docs can be guilty of spreading a little bro science too.

Engineereddisaster's picture

+1 for keeping shit real on your end. Hugs from big Ed. No homo of course. Lol

Nitti's picture

Lol, im gonna be 32 next month! I'm still wet behind the ears

Yeah I was one of those fuck tards that started running tren at 24. I was a fighter and totally misguided by the guys schooling me. I have been cycling for a long time. I only recently (the last 12-18 months) started doing things right and learning the proper way to eat, cycle, train etc.
