+ 1 Advice on what to do
ad
I have been on TRT for around 2 years now. It is through my normal physician as there is no endo's in my area. At 100mg of cyp a week, my levels at best are in mid 400's and still hop around some. Doc isn't going to raise the dose and I am ready to do something different. I was thinking about finding and adding a low dose of test prop three times a week. He has me get bloodwork once every 4 to 6 months and I usually have a month window to do them. Could I pull this off safely and not have unusually high test levels when I give blood?

You need a daily macros to support your goal:
245g/120-180g/120g-(pro/cho/fat)
You need 1800 cal/d to maintain at a LBM of 164lbs. With activity 4days per week (1.55) that number changes to 2800 cal/d.
Please help me understand your lbm of 164,
Okay...if you could get your weight down to 164 lbs, using the macros and calories i provided, along with a tailored cardio/lifting regimen to meet that goal, your BF% would be less than 8%, which allows you to be mainly muscle. There is no reason why u CANNOT do this with 100mg/wk of Testosterone. Therefore, the expectation and realization of LBM is an ideal theoretical approach to you not having a high body fat percentage. If you follow the macros and calories i posted, u should start losing body fat and the nutritional path is there for you to build muscle.
Ok. I guess you would have to see me to understand that 164 isn't happening. I have decent amount of muscle mass from training from training for almost 15 years. I appreciate your educated advice, I am still at limbo at whether I want to add to my current TRT protocol, and you have triggered some thoughts and second thoughts. But 164 at 6 ft is a marathon runner weight. Not happening.
200-220 lbs is a good goal, bro....add saw palmetto...HIIT cardio along with walking dog and treadmill....alternate lifting regimens from pyramid to reverse pyramid, maybe light weight high reps...change up every six weeks....
Now I'm in agreement with you on numbers. Ever since high school I have had this deal were I gain and lose 50 pounds every year or two. Well September last year I got up to 305 which was a all time high. I went on keto diet and by around May this year I was down to 229. Id love to be between 205 and 220 but I have this ignorant issue with feeling strong and I don't have that feeling until I am around were I am now. As far as the lifting goes I do throw some wrenches into the somewhat programming I have going on.
As far as nutrition its a battle I fight daily and I am wanting to get in control.
I had that same issue for a long long time and finally got over it-- losing strength when I drop body fat, but I finally realized I feel a lot better all day long when I'm leaner as opposed to feeling good for an hour a day lifting heavy weights.
This is the secret to your success. You have to be consistent and find out what works.
I understand about the 164, but this gives you an idea on what your goals need to be and how u need to do it before adding anymore test, bro....so, lets do short term goals over long term goals. How about dropping 10 pounds in 2 months and see if your BF% can get down to 15%?
What's your BF? What do you mean, "hops around some"? levels drop? spike?
You didn't answer MedDx question.Goal? what are you trying to accomplish?
Thanks brother...
I did answer the goal and the hops around is that it may be low 400 to mid 400's when I get tested. I have not had an official body fat measuring but the little cheap handheld thing you enter your info into reads between 17 and 20% but I believe its a little higher than that.
This is your lean body mass (LBM)
If i was your doc i wouldnt increase ur dose becuz it could have an adverse reaction with your BF%. Now, 6 months down the road if u proved to me that your diet and cardio has helped u decrease your BF% and increased ur lean muscle mass with the 100mg i was prescribing u...then i MIGHT increase ur dose and or help u with a cycle.via bloodwork. So, with that being said, go ahead and fill us in on your diet and exercise regimen. Trying to keep u safe brother...
thanks...
Solid advice right here. If I was the op I'd be taking some notes.
Thank u brother...
RustyhookerGreat work!!!
Thx brother...
My doctor really isn't concerned with my BF, and actually has never mentioned it. As far as diet I don't have a set meal plan but I mainly eat bacon and eggs for breakfast, sandwiches with wheat bread and fresh deli meat while at work, rice, potatoes, chicken, beef, broccoli, carrots etc for dinner. My job only allows me to eat while I am driving and I am struggling to find something I can stand eating out of a lunch box that is decent. As far as training I follow more of powerlifting regimen by doing bench, squat, overhead press, then deadlift on different days with body building accessories to assist the main lift. I do cardio a couple times a week and its incline treadmill sprints or the prowler with an occasional slow treadmill walk. I also walk my dog 2 or three times a week for 15 to 20 minutes.
RustyhookerHigher body fat results in higher estrogen and higher sex binding hormone. So your bloods read 400 TOTAL TEST but not giving you the FREE TEST.
Only free test is available for use in your body. Also, that free test, miniscule amount is being converted to DHT.
So medex is completely accurrate on his information. Use that how you will, its your body
Superb info...it should definitely give OP insight on rationale why no more test in any ester needs to be used. In fact, the way i see it, his doc is being generous with TRT in the first place considering the fact that there are other ways to elevate test level, like clomid administration, and not put him in jeopardy for aromatization even at 100mg per week.
RustyhookerMany times its a vicious cycle though so trt is viable. Body is low on test so estro is there, muscle cant maintain and what lil test is left is bound up with sbh or converted. This is a part where the op tightens his diet as you suggested so the fight is easier. Then instead of a big cycle, look at unbinding. I wont go into details because there's no magic pill per se, but when diet us corrected there is more options. And its not big leaps to finish with then big losses because diet still is faulty.
True...makes me wonder what OPs weight and health.status was prior to TRT...
Do u administer your TRT doses?
Yes
Ready to do something different? Do u have an AAS cycle history?
Goal?
Yes I have a basic history, ignorance in my early twenties led me to the TRT. My goal is be able to actually advance in strength, size, and possibly lean out some with out the hindrance of low t. I have been cycling sarms as well, but I would like to at least up my test intake.
Your ignorance in your earlier years is something you should discuss to these kiddies around here and open some eyes! +2 to get you rolling.
Yea, what it boils down too is I came across some test and deca but had no clue about pct or the need of it. I came off and it wasn't as horrible as you would imagine but the next time I did, I was informed shortly after by a family member that I would need PCT but I had no clue how to get it. So that folks led to years of bottomed out test levels until my Dr finally started me on test. He started me on 200mg once a month which made it bottom out worse then finally raised it to 100mg a week. I still don't feel optimal by no means and by the looks of things I need HCG as well. My doc doesnt really know much about this area other than I need test.
Welcome to EROIDS bro....glad ur here...u will be smarter than your doc next time u talk to him.....lol..
