Search not working for me

Clicked the magnifying glass to do a search, got a page back saying 'Comments closed' without ever even getting to enter my search terms. Clicked the Contact Us link at bottom of page, got message saying "Can't let you do that".
Yes I'm logged in, yes I cleared cache/cookies, yes I logged back in.

Still unable to use Search on this site. A Search page opens when I click the magnifying glass icon, but there are not text fields enabled where I can enter anything. Trying the Contact link at the bottom of the page to try to reach out to an admin, but all that got me was a 403 page with a cat.

There are no boxes anyplace on the page that opens that are enabled for input...
go back and wait for the page to fully load. It takes a few seconds. Start typing on top of the words where it says "google custom search" and not the line below it.
How long is a "...few seconds"? That page has been open on another tab for over an hour and I still can't type into any part of the page. Also, it doesn't say "google custom search" - it just says "search", but I still can't overtype it.

I was just asking for a clarification of a "few seconds" because I thought I allowed enough time, but it still wasn't working. 5 seconds, 15 seconds, 60 seconds...?
My screen doesn't look like that. I tried to paste in a screen image of what I see, but this box wouldn't take it. There's no blue EDIT on my screen, there's no border around the text box where you have "type here", there's no magnifying glass icon out to the right, and I can't type into the text box. It's the same on Chrome, IE, and Firefox.
I'm not demanding anything. If you don't want to help, then don't.
Dude, if you've exceeded a few seconds by 3,600+ and feel you need to ask for clarification then you're being surly or stupid. I'd like to think you're not stupid.
You will not see an edit button, only the wise and powerful mods get to see that.
Try running java update and check to see if those add ins or extensions have been disabled. Try clearing your browser cache. Try a different computer or your phone.
The issue is clearly with your setup and not with the website. From here, you're on your own.
