SECTION FOR NAMING AND SHAMING BAD CUSTOMERS

ad

Okay, I've been thinking about this for a long time cos I think it's necessary to warn sources of bad buyers. There are all sorts of bad customers from reverse scammers, to chancers that are always claiming their gear came up short or damaged, buyers that deliberately send wrong payment info, dangerous buyers that are a risk to their sources, etc, etc...the list goes on.

I've had all of the above several times and may I just put a note in that I'm not aiming this at any of my cutomers in particular. There are some that have done the above and I know it was legit or a genuine mistake.

I'll give you a couple of examples of recent experiences....some customers think you check the WU website to see if a payment is available and ship the goods so they deliberately make the payment but send to the wrong country...that way it shows up as available but you can't get it. They think you'll send the goods and send tracking but you won't be able to get the payment so they just get their money back and the goods are already in the post....once again not aiming this at anyone in particular but it's happened on several occasions...and never worked cos I never ship goods without collecting payment.

Another guy recently ordered and sent me a false name with an address of a hotel to send to. The guy didn't get it cos the hotel manager refused it as there was no guest in that name...but worst thing was he didn't seem bothered and just wanted to make another order not seeming to care that a parcel with a load of gear in it was floating around the postal service. I told him to go and get it and he claimed it was returned (a day later) to sender. I don't put return addresses on my parcels so it couldn't go anywhere. I told him postal services don't send items back a day after a failed delivery and rang USPS myself, located the parcel and told him to pick it up....I think the guy is too scared but he is putting me at risk by leaving a parcel of gear floating round the postal service with no return address. Eventually it will be opened and the tracking can be traced back to the post office it was sent from...not good and dangerous for us sources.

Oh and did I tell you about the one that put his order in his Paypal payment and got the account frozen and all money in it seized? Account was obviously in a fake name and address but all the money was lost.

Anyway, that is my rant over. I've had numerous experiences like this and I reckon it's about time sources were warned of some customers....not just customers being warned of bad sources.

true true, but how you gonna identify users?
by eroids-username, their email? usernames and emails can be abandoned, changed...

I was thinking of opening a supplier-only forum thread for sources to collaborate on these issues.

I think that's a great idea.... Yes please :))))

Yeah my list of orders awaiting payment is longer than my list of orders paid for that need to be sent. What is all that about??? A real pain in the ass cos it also messes with what stock is available for other legitimate paying customers!!

Exactly...and sources could check the list and save themselves a lot of hassle.

I'm with you. I'm in manufacturing and customers sometimes don't have enough business/real world experience to know how bad they're hurting you.
