You need a balanced diet high in protein. Sadly it is impossible to obtain enough quality protein from veggies alone. Red meat helps produce blood cells and increases strength. But life is choice so it's always an individiual thing. +
StevebYou don't need vegetables at all you can live without them. Pretty much every vegetable you see in any grocery store was created through cultivation. They never existed in the past or in nature. That's why they need people to tend to them or else they won't keep growing. Plus it's not natural to have access to fruits and vegetables year round.

I like lots of meat and lots of veggies. Loving this time of year cause all my veggies are fresh from my garden, apples straight from my trees and I can also go out and knock down a deer and gets lots of grouse and eventually pheasants. Couldn't imagine surviving without eating meat. Life is to short not to be able to savor a nice steak. I'll throw in the occasional fruit when they are in season when I can pick them off my trees and bushes in the woods.
I couldn't live without meat either, no way. Have you ever had to consume a really cheap protein shake after training if you have run out of the good stuff like Isolate? The worst unsatisfying feeling in the world, I could feel my body screaming out for something proper to feed on. Made sure I've never been short of proper stuff since..

StevebNo, the real truth is people like the Eskimo and other cultures who only eat meat live long and healthy lives. But the same can not be said for people who do not eat meat. So no you don't "need" vegetables but you do need meat. You can eat a truck load of vegetables and it will never give you the nutrition you can get from eating an animal, especially organ meats like liver. You'll get zero Vitamin A and beneficial fatty acids from plants. There's a reason vegans and meth addicts look alike.

I do eat meat but I think it’s crazy to say we don’t need vegetables or fruits. Also, vitamin a is regulated internally by our own body. I do believe vegans need to supplement for essential fatty acids but you can also get good fats from nuts and seeds and avocados. Also, meat is directly connected with all sorts of cancers. It seems like you heard about the new diet fad the canivore diet which is very extreme and only eating meat is what leads to scurvy. StevebNo you don't "need" them, lots of cultures go their whole lives without them and are healthy. So it's not that I think you do not need them I know because it's a proven fact. You can get nutrition from them but you don't need them to be healthy.
So what they also lack a ton of shit that that eating an animal will give you and plant vitamins are not as bio available compared to meat. That's why they are now making Liposomal vitamins AKA vitamins wrapped in fat because they absorb better.
And non soluble fiber is a nice way of saying you're gonna shit out all of this and your body wont utilize it, which is pretty much all plants
You can't be vegan and substitute fatty acids because the ones from nuts and avocados are crap compared to what you would get from fish. I've seen studies showing that they are pretty useless when you get them from plants.

Again if you had read my link you would see that the quality of meat does not matter. The mere act of cooking and heating up meat creates huge amounts of mutagens which cause cancer. Also, new research has shown that cancer can indeed use ketones for energy.
