What is your opinion on this? It seems like all of the trt clinics use a larger guage needle to draw and smaller gauge to inject. I am aware that the needle could be dulled slightly when using it to draw, but it just seems very convenient.

About your question: no, I dont use the same needle to draw form the vial and to inject. And I recommend you to do the same.
Dude... it take literally 3 seconds to put another needle on, and they are super cheap. I stockpiled for 2 years worth of pins and barrels for less than $100 US.
When I first started DIY TRT I was drawing and injecting with the same 23g needle. I didn't take long to figure out that wasn't a good thing. I switched to 18g to draw and I've been pinning with 23g and more recently 21g (thick oil).
Why risk it? They're widely and easily available on "Largest Online Retailer" now, and dirt cheap. If you can't afford the pins to do it properly, you have no business using gear.
Personally, I use an 18g 1" to draw with. I DO NOT inject with the same one I draw with.
If it's delt time, I use a 25g 5/8" and put 1.5ml in each medial delt (sometimes rear delts if my GF is over to do it)
If it's glute time, 23g 1.5" and all in one shot (up to 3ml).
If it's Quad time, 25g 1" and 1.5ml per quad.
If it's trap time, 25g 5/8" and only 1ml per side.
If it's lat time, 25g 1" for 1.5ml per side and only if my GF is here to do it.
If it's Pec time, 25g 5/8" and only a max of 1ml per side.
jbuilt1992needles are cheap i have always used a lower guage to draw and a higher guage to inject also use a new needle every time injections will be quick easy and painless now if your in a jam and have only so many needles which can be a situation sometimes make sure u fill a cup with 91% rubbing alcohol insert the entire needle in it fill it up and flush it out a few times this will keep u safe from an infection or something worse
For one, you should never be in a jam, you should always have what you need and then some -Before you start
For another, I did that when I was a Junkie... I still got hep C.
jayiskthat is why for harm reduction they instruct IV drug users to use bleach. Gear users should never be in "a jam" when it comes to syringes.
"a jam" to me means when my slin pin..after using it too many times to IV inject.., that the needle would actually break and i needed to get what was in the slin pin in me somehow before the horrors set in.
@jbuilt making that statement esp. the part "infection or something worse".., his strange behavior and posting.., and his appearance in his photo..,his extended time off from gear and training.., all leads me to believe he may have an issue with IV drug use.

If someone doesn't have enough common sense to have enough needles on hand they shouldn't be running a cycle in the first place. There is no excuse for reusing needles. It is just plain stupidity if one does so.

In the U.K you can go into any pharmacy that offers the needle exchange service (50% of them do) and get free needles of all the main sizes including oranges and yellows, 2.5ml barrels, slin pins, swabs, needle bins. As many as you want for nothing! You just register anonymously as either a steroid or heroin user - they'd rather see you safe and inject with sterile equipment than re-use other needles etc and spread infections.
I usually walk on down to the slums and ask the people on the sides of the streets if they got a needles I can use.
But I ask them if they have any diseases first. I know I can trust them when they say no!
Pls do not do it. Needles are cheap. You do not want to use a dull needle after drawing to inject into yourself.
Always use a fresh needle to draw and a fresh needle to inject.
Using the same needle draw up the liquid, and then inject is a terrible practice. Not only will the needle be dulled (the fluid coating the needle allowing for smoother insertion will be removed) but you run the risk of creating rubber shrapnel within the vial (which is why the needle used for drawing up is blunt)
Alphamale500Many times in my earlier years of using juice, I have used the same pin to draw and inject. Especially when I only had a limited number of pins. I would squeeze a few drops of oil onto the pin to help it slide into the skin a bit easier.
But I wouldn't recommend using the same pin. Now, I always use a separate needle to draw and another to inject. But, even with a new pin, squeezing a few drops of oil out and onto the pin helps it slide right in.
Isn't a big positive about using a fresh new pin to inject, the fact it is completely sterile - other than it hitting the alcohol swabbed skin on the way in nothing else has touched it? ...
Alphamale500Absolutely. I won't use anything but a brand new pin! I still squeeze out a few drops of oil onto the pin to make it go in like butter. Do you lubricate your pin like that?
I only used the same pin when I was young and hardheaded.
The other big positive is reduction in scar tissue. That needle is wrecked after it pierces the stopper and is now dull. Now you poke it into your muscle and dull needles are going to cause more microtears in the muscle and boom, more scar tissue.

I use an 18g to extract, and have been using the same one for a long time. Maybe a yearish. Just use a wipe before you insert it ensuring it's clean.
I will use the same syrynge for pinning whenever it's convenient again making sure u use a sterile wipe first. Sometimes it gets too dull and is a bitch to pin. Then I'll toss it. Pinning doesn't bother me because I'm so used to it. But to each their own.

Bigger gauge pins can cause scar tissue build up over time. Smaller gauge pins are often smoother and painless. Draw with a 18-20, inject with a 25g

JayD718I almost always use the same pin to draw, and the same pin to inject. I know it does dull the needle a bit, but I figure, Just Man Up, no? And I always use a 22 gauge, 1 1/2" pin for my glutes. When I inject in deltoids, I like to also use a 22 gauge, but 1" pin. On occasion, when I run out of pins and have to go to the pharmacy to get them, I'll use 23 gauge because they're usually sold out of the 22's.
Where I live, you can just walk into some pharmacies and buy a pack of pins without a script. Insulin and intra-muscular. The maximum you're allowed to buy is 10 at a time, and also 10 per day. But, I prefer to just order boxes of 100 of each at a time. Insulin pins for HCG, 22gauge 1 1/2" for glutes, and 22gauge 1 1/2" for deltoids.
