Nicked a nerve while injecting
Ok guys today was my quad injection. I did 200mg deca and 325mg Test E total of 1.5ml.
I have done plenty injects before and never had any issues. I just recently got some new pins. I normally use 23G 1" for everything. But I got some 5/8's inch 25G pins and wanted to try them out.
I pinned in the same spot that I usually do when I go for quads.
Once the pin was in everything was fine, I aspirated and no blood then all the sudden I felt a twitch. I know it was a nerve, my leg did a mini jolt and the quad muscle did a slight jiggle.
I moved the pin to more of an angle to try and keep it away from the nerve then accidently bumped it back to the nerve again and felt another mini-jolt. I got it to a spot that was safe and injected extremely slow and the rest of the inject was smooth sailing.
I am concerned though if there is a possibility of damage or anything? I don't think it was that bad since it wasnt painful at all. I just felt a little twitch thats all.
Am I good? I put ice on it for 10 mins and the whole area is red. I think my body realizes there is a foreign substance in it since the area is all red.

Keep in mind that is a normal acupoint reaction as well, its very likely you hit an accpoint rather then are nerve. Hitting a nerve will cause really bad pain almost so bad you are unable to handle the pin in you any more. Those reactions are similar to what a acupuncture doctor is looking for when doing therapy.
Ive sone it a couple times in the quads. The whole quad jumps while the needle is in it. I usually just get a tad bit more pip when it has happened

iv gotten this but only doin chest injections ' the whole chest muscle jumps ' i just re pin ' i know im near a nerve ' but never any problems after
Bruise usually from the mini jerks. I use the whole outer sweep so not hitting same spot. Usually a bruise.
My quad does that every time, and I'm not entirely sure if I'm hitting a nerve or not. I can't inject in my quads for that same reason, but yea if no pain then you're good. If you damaged a nerve you'll know it for sure. Crazy painful. Heard of nurses taking blood, and going through the vein puncturing the nerve in someone's arm. They couldn't bend their arm properly for weeks, because of the pain.
I think you'll be fine, chances are you just nicked a nerve ending, if you severed anything you would do a whole lot more than a small twitch
Ok thanks. I was just concerned since the area turned red. Should I take aspirin/ibuprofen or something?
Do you think I'm gonna have pain or pegleg this week?
Is it possible the needle wasnt deep enough since I normally use 1" in the exact same spot?
It was probably luck of the draw. I use 25g 1" for everything. Take some aleve and gimp it off
