+ 1 More HGH worth the money?

ad

So I’m planning my next bulk cycle. The plan is to run test, EQ and NPP for 5 months titrating doses up along the way. Right now I have enough GH to run 4iu every day for the 5 months but I am considering getting more to bump it to 6iu. Would the gains from the extra GH be worth the extra money?

TomHardcastle's picture

I might be the odd one out here (or maybe not who knows). But I am believer of “more is better” with GH IF you can afford it AND are not running into sides that aren’t tolerable or acceptable by the beholder.

I typically run my GH very high, 8-12iu every push. On cruises I stabilize down to 4iu.

I understand the possible consequences and take necessary precautions with insulin sensitivity etc.

That’s just my bread and butter where I find really good overall synergy between my anabolics and GH + peptides. To me, it feels like it somewhat supercharges my cycle, fills me out, and keeps me really full looking. Recovery and sleep is A+.

I do measure fasting glucose 3x-4x a week doing this mandatorily. Thankfully, I’ve never ran into too much insulin sensitivity issues. I’m usually stable around 82-90 mg/dl depending on my previous calorie intake etc.

What is your pin schedule when you get up to that 12iu mark? Are you splitting it or all in one shot? And cna you recommend a user friendly glucose monitor? Im about to experiment with GH, assuming bloods come back clear on Monday. Need to get all my ducks in a row.

Appreciate these real world lessons

I’m with you on this, BIG..

For your goal, that approach makes perfect sense to me. Running 8–12 IU during a push, then dropping back to 4 IU during a cruise, tells me you’re not treating GH like a short-term blast compound. You’re using it consistently, managing the dose according to the phase, monitoring insulin sensitivity, and actually giving it enough time to produce the performance benefits people expect from it.

That’s where GH really starts becoming worthwhile, in my humble opinion. Not because a higher dose magically builds the physique by itself, but because over time it can amplify everything else you’re already doing correctly … recovery, nutrient partitioning, fullness, training output, and the overall synergy with your anabolics.

You’re also doing the important part that many guys ignore: checking fasting glucose regularly and understanding the potential consequences instead of blindly pushing the dose. If the sides remain manageable, insulin sensitivity stays under control, and you can comfortably afford it, then you’re basically doing everything possible to maximize what GH can offer for your specific goals.

Appreciate you sharing the real-world experience and the numbers behind it. This is exactly the kind of context that makes these discussions valuable. Respect, Big brother.

Depending on the user if you are or ever have been insulin resistant hgh can drive your fasted glucose levels up. If that is a concern then you could run Retatrutide to manage that.

BIG…I think there’s a bottleneck in this discussion.

IMO, @randomdude gave you the best answer: you have to try it and find out for yourself.

GH is an expensive compound, and most people either don’t understand what it’s actually good for or how to get the most out of it.

The first question is: what do you want from GH?

Want to get lean? A well-executed calorie deficit will do far more than adding another 2 IU of GH.

Want better recovery? A properly periodized training program, better sleep, and smarter recovery strategies will probably give you a bigger return.

Want to get huge? Then you also need to understand that nobody builds an impressive physique from 3-4 IU of GH alone. It’ll always be the combination of training, nutrition, PEDs, recovery, and time. (And…Genetics, being responsive matters)

That’s another thing people don’t understand about GH. They run 3-5 IU, start getting carpal tunnel symptoms, water retention, numb hands, or bloating, then quit before they’ve even given it enough time to work.

GH isn’t really a compound you “blast.” It’s a compound you benefit from through long-term, consistent use.

Roughly speaking…

2-3 IU: health, sleep quality, recovery, general well-being.

4-6 IU: better nutrient partitioning, recovery, lipolysis, and it starts becoming very synergistic with your anabolic cycle. In many ways, it lets you get more out of less gear.

6-10+ IU: now you’re entering a completely different territory where, over the long term … and with training, food, insulin sensitivity, (with or without taboo compounds) and everything else dialed in …you may start seeing additional physique changes, potentially including hyperplasia. But there’s no free lunch; higher doses also bring a greater chance of side effects.

GH production naturally declines with age, so for many people it eventually becomes more of a long-term optimization or even an HRT-like compound than just another PED.

Bro…at the end of the day, GH is one of the most honest compounds out there. It rewards consistency, patience, and having everything else in place. If you’re already doing everything right, it’ll give you a little more. If you’re not, it can become a very expensive money pit.

Just my miserable two cents, Big bro. Hope that gives you another perspective.

‘My miserable two cents’. Brother, nothing miserable about your advice. It’s pure gold every time. That’s a great break down of HGH.
I’m old and for me I fall into the HRT section. I think it makes ageing less aggressive.

Hey Panda! Can you help me interpret some thyroid numbers after being on HGH with me?

Synthetic HGH (human growth hormone) increases lean body mass, but this increase is largely due to fluid retention and connective tissue growth rather than functional muscle fiber enlargement. Research shows that it does not improve muscle strength or physical performance.

How HGH Affects the Body

Lean Mass vs. Muscle: Raises overall lean body weight through water weight and collagen synthesis in tendons rather than building actual contractile muscle tissue.

Strength Changes: Fails to produce measurable gains in physical strength, power, or endurance performance.

Fat Loss: Can lower body fat percentages in certain populations, though results vary widely.

If you want to run it for Tendon Health then you are better off running GLOW or KLOW everyday and its much cheaper.

From what I have seen and heard over the years the only reason to run HGH is if you can afford 8iu's plus a day and you run it with Taboo - I've known a few members on here though who did run it the naughty way and now have totally fucked up Insulin resistance which has basically messed their life up massively. Not worth the risk.

Your body can't process high amounts of hgh. There's a forum that to me is the better idea....let me find it...

I wouldn't go above 5 on cycle...my bloods show need for 2iu off cycle. My hgh at 4iu hits over 400igf1 and most don't even blood test correctly imo. Take your normal daily dose and test 3hrs later. Igf1 test. Hgh test will show mega high with cheap peptides but won't show igf1 raise because its not the same thing.

When my igf1 numbers were high and I was young a good pct and change in workout styles had me tight. But treads posts were long...boring...real science...and work. Used to be folks talked loudly about testicular AXIS.....folks now think test estrogen....nope! That axis id test and hgh/igf1 . Always has been but the endocrinology reports are soooo boring...Noone reads. @BigCoachKen

Im here if needed

I think 4-5 IU/day is plenty for the vast majority of people. GH isn’t magic fairy dust. I’d put the extra money toward food or another cycle before bumping to 6 IU.

Mk677 is wayyyyyyy better for bulking and if your not going to do 6iu or more Mk677 will do the same thing and it's much easier just take a pill at night before bed on an empty stomach. You can even take Mk677 with your 4iu and it'll boost that also. Not saying this from shit i read telling you from shit I've done myself.
If I'm not doing 8iu+ of hgh i don't bother with it.

I think MK-677 had a better effect on my sleep than GH. But I had to stop to because i couldn’t control the hunger.

Anothe reason i like it better for gaining. It fades unfortunately after awhile though.

In my opinion HGH is overhyped and not worth it. You can get all the gains you want with other cheaper compounds with the right diet and exercise.

I think it is good at 3-4 IU for the fat loss but I’m not convinced higher doses lead to any real muscle growth. It seems to make you swell up and look bigger but you immediately deflate once the dose decreases or you stop running it.

TheIcon's picture

I didn't notice much until I got to 4iu's and then that little extra fat around the waist started dissapearing. 4iu is def the sweet spot for me when trying to be lean.

Milfpounder's picture

It's not worth the sourcing headache that it is anymore. It's a huge pain in the ass and there's so many new ppl fighting over it that it's not worth it imo. Strictly MY OPINION. There's a lot of gents that would rather eat a dick sandwich instead of going without GH.

To be fair, it is a nice background compound. Running it super high dose is a rich man's game, that as a 40 year old recreational lifter I'm not willing to partake in. More power to the guys that do though.

On a lighter note, super encouraging to see so much previously impossible to get compounds coming available. Oils that is.

It won’t hurt but you’re looking at a pretty good cycle already. 4IU is enough for lipolysis to minimize fat gain while growing if you keep your surplus moderate.
