+ 1 Should I get on HGH?
ad
I just got my blood work done and my IGF 1 came in at 105. Technically that is within range but on the low end.
But I still have low energy and my muscles feel weak. My symptoms feel like its low GH.
I'm 50, 6ft, and 210.
My Test is around 500 and all my other markers look fine.
Am on Reta now to lose 20 pounds. Maybe that will help my issue?
Not sure if I should just stick with Sermorelin or just do a low dose of HGH.

The fatigue could also be related to the Reta . People on GLPs tend to be more tired due to lack of protein from decreased appetite and electrolyte imbalances . I added in an electrolyte pack every morning , and take multivitamin in liquid form bc it’s easier to digest on Reta . I also had to bump my protein intake . Some diet mods while on Reta could help . The electrolytes will also help with muscle fatigue and spasm.
Yes.
All these young doctors giving you advice. Fuck yes you should get on HGH take it from one over 50 bad ass to another game changer long term. A little goes a long way. But, of course, make sure you are healthy first (lol). The synergy with reta and test all lower to moderate dose is amazing. Bin that sermorelin get the real stuff.
I agree with this. The recovery and the overall feeling to me is worth it. Been on for about 3 yrs straight
I stayed in 4 units of Hgh for over a year. Dont have to take much to feel its benefits.
I feel it’s been a great addition to my cycle and my life. Aside from the anabolic steroids that help change your body figure. Hgh could help your body figure and your overall life quality. I’m a big fan.
Do you wanna try GH? Then yes get on GH. If not then don’t.
An IGF-1 of 105 ng/mL by itself doesn’t tell us much. It’s one piece of the puzzle, and being in the low end of the normal range doesn’t automatically mean you have GH deficiency.
Before I’d even think about GH, I’d be asking:
How’s your sleep?
What’s your calorie intake?
What’s your body fat percentage?
What’s your thyroid panel (especially free T3)?
Any recent weight loss?
You’re on retatrutide trying to lose 20 lb. Being in a calorie deficit can lower IGF-1, so I’d be hesitant to blame GH when you’re actively trying to lose weight.
If your symptoms persist after you’ve reached your goal weight and everything else checks out, I’d talk to an endocrinologist about whether further testing is warranted. A single IGF-1 of 105 isn’t enough to conclude you need HGH.
Exactly it’s not that simple like having a certain igf number doesn’t mean you need growth. It could be low for a lot of reasons. I don’t think the question should really be “should I take gh” as that’s up to the person lol. No one can really say you “should” do anything
Sleep is mixed. Some nights good and others I wake up in the middle of the night.
Am on a keto/carnivore diet and before doing Reta, ate around 2500 calories which is my maintenance
A healthy weight for me is 185 so I definitely need to lose weight. This is why I think with Reta maybe it might fix the issue since I probably have some visceral fat wreaking some havoc
Thyroid and all other markers are within range
Just starting to lose weight now. Started Reta 4 weeks ago and it kicked in 2 weeks ago
My symptoms have been bad for about 3 years. Have tried all kinds of supplements and all the "natural" strategies. Hence why I am on keto/carnivore which has helped so many people. Before starting keto/carnivore my Test was at 179. Now its close to 500 but my symptoms remain.
Because of my poor sleep, fatigue, and loss of muscle density, this is why I thought HGH could help. Also, I am getting this "fluttering" feeling in my forehead by my pituitary/pineal gland.
Ok man, for sure get your health checked out, etc. Fluttering feeling in your forehead by your pituitary? lol wtf
In my opinion once you get the fluttery pituitary area worked out so you're reasonably sure you aren't having a stroke or something...
Good luck!
Start some gh. I would start at 2.5iu’s and see how I feel. Once comfortable go up to 3.33iu/day. It’ll feel like the first time you used test.
Try adding carbs back in to your diet.
I wouldnt add any compounds until you get that "fluttery" feeling addressed. I might even suggest stopping everything until then. You probably dont even need to be on Reta
I did. Rice was always my fave. Didn't work : (
Honestly, the fact that your testosterone went from 179 to ~500 without your symptoms improving makes me wonder if testosterone, or GH is actually the primary issue.
You’re also on keto/carnivore, actively losing weight with retatrutide, and not sleeping well. All of those can influence energy levels, recovery, and even IGF-1.
An IGF-1 of 105 by itself doesn’t diagnose adult GH deficiency. If your symptoms persist after you’ve reached your goal weight and your sleep is optimized, I’d probably ask an endocrinologist whether dynamic GH stimulation testing is appropriate rather than assuming you need HGH.
The “fluttering” sensation is the part that would concern me the most. I wouldn’t chalk that up to low testosterone or GH. I’d be seeing a specialist right away, ideally an endocrinologist or neurologist depending on the rest of your history and based on their evaluation, I’d expect them to consider dedicated pituitary imaging, often an MRI with contrast, if they think it’s warranted. That’s one symptom I wouldn’t ignore.
My symptoms have been persistent for 3 years prior to starting keto/carnivore or doing Reta.
I have tried all the "natural" strategies first. Hence why I joined this community.
All my blood markers are on point so I am just baffled.
I'm not going to touch on the GH / Test as plenty of others already have. Although, I do think telling someone to take 3.33iu 's is stupid. Aside from that, be careful following a Keto diet while taking any GLPs. Just research it and why it is generally recommended to avoid. There's a big list of stuff I could write about for a long time, but you'll retain more of it if you research it for yourself.
That’s exactly why I’d be pushing for a deeper workup instead of assuming it’s GH.
The fact that your testosterone improved from 179 to ~500 without improving your symptoms makes me think something else may be/most likely is driving this.
If you’ve truly exhausted the lifestyle side, (I believe you have) and your routine labs are unremarkable, I’d want an endocrinologist to evaluate you for adult GH deficiency with a dynamic GH stimulation test rather than relying on IGF-1 alone. Given the persistent “fluttering” sensation, I’d also want them to decide whether dedicated pituitary imaging (MRI with contrast) is appropriate.
Without knowing your full medical history this is my gut feeling.
At this point, I’d be looking for a diagnosis, not just trying another hormone or GH therapy.
Oh....I have never even heard of a "dynamic GH stimulation test". Gonna def check that out. Thank you.
