Question about labs /trt
My primary care /Nurse Practitioner did my yearly labwork a couple weeks ago. My... either hemoglobin and/or hemadocrit came back high. I was expecting it might. So she called my Dr that prescribes me TRT and told them my levels were high, whos office then called me and told me to stop taking testosterone and do labwork for our upcoming 6 month visit. I had to beg/fight my Nurse Practitioner to give me a hormone panel a couple years ago. I get the feeling shes always tried to sabotage my trt.
So yesterday she (Nurse Practitioner) calls me personally to tell me to stop taking the testosterone. I asked her what my levels came back as. (Ive been unable to sign into my labcorp portal) ive got an old number registered to the acct.
She said it was my hemoglobin which was at 18. I said whats the range? She said 13-17. That doesnt sound incredibly high to me. I asked my GF whos a Nurse. She was shocked to here they even called my trt doctor to let them know. This makes me believe even more this Bitch is just trying to sabotage ya boy. Hating ass Dyke. Nahh... I respect Doctors looking out for my health and telling me the truth but... I just wanted to ask you all what you thought.
I went and donated blood yesterday. Took a pint out of me. I have an appointment with my trt Dr on the 30th. I can give my labs any time between now and... the 23rd. I think id be fine now. Ive only taken a half ml of suspension 1 day last week. I havent taken my trt in a couple weeks. Before that I was running 200mg a week for a couple weeks. Its been a couple months since I ran higher levels of anything. Im not worried about my test levels. I just wanna make sure my lab work doesnt cause any alarms and Ill get the go ahead to keep taking my trt shots from my Dr.
Ive been dabbling with the promo pack I got. As soon as I give labs Im gonna start my cycle.

18 is high for elevated for hemoglobin, but has your PC or TRT doc done anything to mitigate this? If not, then a more appropriate approach should be to try to correct the marker through therapeutic blood donation and supplementation before they terminate a hormone treatment that was already deemed necessary. I say this assuming you don’t have any pre-existing conditions that make you more susceptible to events related to elevated hemoglobin.
My hemoglobin rides high, and I just donated blood myself to get me back down. LifeSouth even has a TRT therapeutic blood donor program that will allow you to donate more often than their standard protocol allows. You just have to have a willing doctor sign the piece of paper.
I also just added in Naringin and Nattokinaise to my protocol. I will be doing bloodwork here in about a 4-6 weeks to assess effectiveness. I say all of this to say man you have options when it comes to lowering a marker like hemoglobin. If your PC is not willing to work with you and take your feedback, then go get a new doctor…they work for you!
My "TRT" Dr is actually an infectious disease doctor I got refered to for Hep C treatment a couple years ago. I doubt they have many trt patients. I could be their only one. They certainly dont seem to know much about anything about the subject. Im on good terms with that Dr. Theyre pretty supportive. Its my primary care that seems to always trying to trip me up. But... shes just doing her job. Im really not mad, I appreciate the care/labwork etc. I just know that a side effect from cycling is elevated labwork. Mine has always gone back to normal. Liver functions are good. Im sure having treating me for a liver disease, they're concerned with my labwork.
Im gonna talk to my trt prescriber in a couple weeks. If they really had a concern ill bring up possibly donating regularly.
Im gonna look into those supplements also. Ty. Ive been taking citrus bergamot, tudca when I can afford it or always when im running doses higher than trt.
Yo man, what are are you asking specifically? If you are asking how to lower it for your next labs... drink a shit ton of water and donate blood 3-4 days prior to labs. That's really all you can do.
As for the nurse, unless she is a nurse at a TRT clinic, they are always trying to get you off of Test. Modern medicine is retarded and uneducated. They will remove you from Test but bitch at you for not taking the 17 fucking vaccines.. dumb af
Im just lonely and wanted to share lol. I know, I coulda just ask "is 18 a high hemoglobin number?"
Yeah im gonna go give labs in a week. Hydrate for the next week. Ill give labs next week, thats ok, right? Or should I really do it 3/4 days later? I could do em friday. Those couple days wont make a difference, right?
I always donate blood then do labs… I could be wrong, but I think it takes at least 10’days for blood to go back to normal levels after donating
I found this out and it freaked me out until I remembered donating blood… ferritin (iron) levels are gonna be low on labs. Which sucks becuaee I need to know my actual ferritin levels BEFORE donating. Ferritin plays a huge role in AAS and GH. So donating is a double edged sword
So with that said, TRT labs will have a blood donation. My own labs for health checks will not have donations.
