My pit has digestive issues and it fucks to his skin been thinking of trying bpc157 but is it cruel? He can’t consent.

Jockstrap's picture

I did pitty rescue a few decades. Stop using any foods with grain. They're allergic and gut...skin...stink issues follow.

Jedizzle's picture

In was feeding him bullymax for 5+ years, then he c started having skin issues and ear issues. I switched him to purina pro plan sensitive skin and it helped the skin but not the ears. Seems like he tries to itch them through his skull and neck till he gives him self nasty wounds. I’ve taken them to the vet multiple times. He’s not aggressive with children or people but at vet he’s super aggressive.

Jockstrap's picture

And you still didn't comprehend...NO GRAIN.

Of course hes super aggro at vets. Vet pulls on his sore ears and probes his butthole with thermometer. Vets reek to dogs of fear and death. Their smell is 100x ours. They're smart...intuitive.

Javarob99's picture

That is an interesting thought. I think of it more as a healing/recovery for muscles, joints, etc., but I have read too about it helping with stomach and intestinal healing. Looks like it is more or less the same for humans:

"BPC-157 is not FDA-approved for veterinary use and should only be administered under the direct supervision of a licensed veterinarian. It is typically used off-label to support healing in conditions like osteoarthritis, CCL tears, IVDD, and gut issues by promoting tissue repair and reducing inflammation.

Common off-label dosing protocols range from 2 to 10 mcg per kilogram of body weight per day, often starting at the lower end. Administration is most effective via subcutaneous injection near the injury site, though oral capsules or sprays are also used.

Key considerations include:

Safety: While generally well-tolerated in animal studies, it may stimulate blood vessel growth, making it risky for dogs with active cancer or high cancer risk.
Combination Therapy: It is frequently paired with TB-500 for synergistic healing effects in orthopedic injuries.
Monitoring: Owners should watch for mild side effects like lethargy or digestive discomfort and ensure the dog has a strong gut foundation (enzymes, probiotics) for optimal efficacy. "

Can't lie I did give my dog BPC and TB-500 towards the end of her life to see if it would help her. Im not sure if it did or not.

UncleYoked's picture

i've given dogs bpc/tb500 and it's helped, even if just a little. Enough to go from not able to get up to being able to get up and pee on their own

I hope I don’t get down voted. But when I used to see my poor old dog suffering. I sooo wanted to try to give him DECA. But I chickened out. So there is always that piece in my brain saying I could have helped but I didn’t. Haunts me to this day. Cause I want to think I would do everything & anything to help

Javarob99's picture

Everyone who cares about their dog wonders if they could have or should done more. I have been involved in rescue for 30 years, so I have seen this a lot. I'm sure you did all you could. None of us know for sure if giving them steroids/peptides or whatever other treatment will help for certain. The end is much less important than the life of love and care that came before it. That doesn't make the passing any less painful unfortunately.

One of my dogs has severe arthritis now and I wish there was a peptide for it. I don't know of any, but it seems that more arrive every day. The meds I have been given aren't working anymore. It seems that DECA might help from the very little I know. I am taking 100mg of NPP for a similar reason I suppose. I guess it is worth running by an AI or two just to see what info pops up. Anyway, Take care.

wanted's picture

I appreciate the kind words. I hope you can figure it out. I was to late

JohnnyHardGuy's picture

Sorry about losing your old friend. Please do not let something like that haunt you. You clearly loved your dog. Sadly, Deca or no Deca, your dog was on the way out either way. We just do the best we can. Im sure you did.

TheIcon's picture

This was me only I went the Peptide route for my Pittie. She made it to 16yrs old. Well a month shy of 16yrs old.

This is completely different mindset than this bozo. I’ve thought about giving my senior dog nad injections to prolong her life unfortunately she passed before I did enough research

What was the issue that you thought NAD would help with?

To help with cognitive decline and arthritis as well as possible help with energy

Mikeyt84LINY's picture

So he is a bozo for wanting to give the dog gear? Something that is actually given to dogs regularly by vets. But your a godsend for wanting to give the dog research peptides that are made for human "research"?
I think your jumping the gun assuming he wants to do it too beg his pitbull up to walk around looking like he can't breath or move and those aren't pitbulls to me they're those dumb ass American bullies, useless dogs.
He might have a "senior" pitbull that has joint issues or who knows what and his reasons are 100%ethical.
It is a shame what happen to the pitbull name cuz true American pitbull terriers look nothing like these bulldog pitbull mastiff mixes that are 150lbs that every Lil dick pussy mother fucka wants to flaunt have a mean and big as possible to make up for his lack of self. Those aren't pitbulls to me and they're Def not pitbull owners.
Pitbulls are 55-60lb .. 75lbs max and that's huge and rare Females are smaller. They don't have human aggression cuz dogs have been culled since the 1800s that have had dog aggression and people who still breed dogs that are true to the breed and game still cull human aggressive dogs. Unless someone wants to start a Bandog program then the human aggressive dogs will be selected but they are no longer pitbulls they're bandog's and usually get mixed with some mastiff.
Its a shame you're dog passed away. Shitty losing a dog especially a dam good dog. Deca most likely would have helped your dog allot.

Redboy jocko are wild. Mine was redboy jocko, jeep, on top. Bottom was gator, razor edge. Gave him size but lost no drive. He was more of a bandog though had high human aggression. And was 85lb.
Them eli dogs are smart and got wind. I like em. Niggerino was a beast. Is either of them garner dogs? You see them American sentinels Lee Robinson bred?? I'm really on the fence cuz i want a dog that's game like a motha fucka. But at the same time i had a corso that was game as game could be gave 0 fucka about himself and he would just get more and more worked up the more he went. He had it towards people and animal but Def leaned more towards people aggression. Loved that dog. He was a real junk yard dog. Anyway they fucked the corso up i got him in 2006 before it was a craze. I really want a presa canario too an irema curto. there's also some dudes in Spain who put em in pits still and do protection work the dogs are Def game. When i got the corso it was either presa or corso and at the time i found the corso first and they were closer so. I got him. With i had done of his sperm but i was still young and wasn't thinking like that then.
Anyway. Nice dogs bro. I like the boy on the bottom with those bone crusher jaws. I bet that cur is no joke either. I had a rottie shepherd mix that looked similar a lil thicker thigh. She was a great dog so easy to train and she had drive and could run all day and not wanna stop and she had crazy high prey drive and no fear i had to stop her from going after other dogs cuz i didn't want her to get hurt. Lol she would though. Far as raccoons though even a few possums she loved going after then cats too. She'd have gone after every dog she saw if i let her too. I could still walk her off leash though. But yeah man i love dogs. Even had a pomeranian poodle mix and he was a lil beast. Never did nothing with him he was my sisters but he did his thing in the backyard a few times. Always had allot of dogs around poodle, another pomeranian, French bulldog, golden retriever, shit, yeah I'm not gonna go on any more here. Yeah anyway nice dogs again.

Beautiful lady, bro she’s got a nice affectionate face!

Here’s my baby! 65-70lb sweetheart loves humans and cats. But fucking squirrels and fox watch out. My old boy is the brindle one he’s passed on. But he was a lover too. Sweetest boy! Cuddles and affection all around! He’d go coursing and loved getting hare. (Coursing is a British term for setting dogs on rabbits) nothing better than a good dog. Both are “diamond back” one was Olmar lineage and the other was Blue Missouri

Mikeyt84LINY's picture

Bro.... that is beautiful corso. She doesn't look like they fucked up her bloodline out crossing with neopolitan or English mastiff trying to make them to dam big. (That's another dog that in 90s was a beast and they really fucked up bad neopolitan mastiff. My boy had 2 Females had done wrinkle under the neck a little, like a corso now. they looked like 165lb blue pitbulls really and they could move. I wanted one at the time, by time i was able to get one they already messed the breed up.) I can tell that's a working line you have just from the photo. Her hind leg looks thick and muscular as fuck. I can't stand seeing dogs with big shoulders in the front and straight boney legs in the back. An sagging backs. What kennel did you get her from?? Is she fixed??
If i could find a corso like that. I might take that over a presa or bandog honestly.
What's up bro you trying to breed that male eli jacko to her?? Lol
Are the pitbulls fixed??
I just looked at her again. Dam bro the black mask too... i can't get over how that dog looks. Not all sloppy and saggy face. They all used to have those masks too. It's really a shame what the idiots who show dogs do to breeds. They take perfect functioning healthy dogs and breed them to shit just cuz they want them to look a certain way. Then they wanna talk about ethical breeding but they're breeding shit just for a look.
That's a official ass job u got there with the dogs too. Lucky man.

I know a few guys on here that have given their dog's deca for joints and mobility issues - even a bit of Test and its actually said to have worked wonders. All of a sudden their dog has been able to move around freely again and had tonnes of energy, definitely works based on their findings. Something like 100mg Deca every 2 to 4 weeks. @Gh0st wasn't this you buddy?

Gh0st's picture

2mg/kg q2-4 weeks yessir
Hope you’re well my friend

ChatGPT has a lot to say about DECA in dogs with arthritis. I have included a small bit of it.

Potential benefits

In an older dog with severe arthritis you might reasonably see:

improved appetite
improved muscle mass
easier time standing
increased willingness to walk
possibly less apparent pain because movement becomes easier

That is different from actually slowing arthritis progression.

Risks

Dogs can also experience side effects:

liver effects (less than oral anabolic steroids)
increased aggression in some dogs
hormonal suppression
enlargement of the prostate in intact males
masculinization of females
changes in fertility
fluid retention

You’ve sparked my interest, I have a Great Dane that has some joint issues. It’s expected, but has been exacerbated by mine and his way of life lol. I’ll be digging into this, anything I can do to make the old man feel better! Thanks brother!
