+ 3 HGH and Thyroid Help
ad
Hello boys I need some advice. Just started HGH at 3.3iu daily for the past two months, and the results have been amazing.
Did some basic labs today and T4 was below reference range, with TSH being high normal. Doc wants me on T4, but I know the low T4 is from the increase conversion of T4 to T3.
What’s the game plan here? Tested T3 a month ago(2.5iu of HGH) and it was perfectly in the reference range. I do want to stick with HGH for a while, so would supplementing with T4 be appropriate for my situation?
Other approaches for Thyroid support?
Thanks

Babe, the thyroid can be very complicated and fluctuates easily I think if I give you a prostate massage later tonight it will help out.
thats a great idea babe
I was prescribed very low dose thyroid meds for elevated TSH but t3 and t4 in range. I did have symptoms of low thyroid that resolved and brought me back to life. I’ve been on 2IU of gh for about 6 months now, just bumped up to 3, and had been feeling the low energy and fatigue. Labs showed elevated tsh, added some t4 and feeling back to normal.
There’s definitely truth to the HGH increasing T4 to T3 conversion, so I don’t think your logic is completely off. But I also don’t think low T4 should automatically be ignored just because T3 is still in range.
The high-normal TSH is the part I’d personally keep an eye on, because that can suggest your thyroid is working harder to compensate. Could just be temporary from the HGH, especially if you plan to come off eventually, but it could also be exposing borderline thyroid function that was already there.
If you feel good, I’d probably retest in a few weeks before jumping straight into permanent thyroid meds. Maybe check free T3, free T4, TSH, reverse T3, and possibly antibodies too. Then see if things stabilize or continue trending worse.
I think your doctor suggesting temporary T4 support while running HGH is a reasonable conversation, but I also wouldn’t panic over one low T4 result in isolation.
Appreciate it brother. Gonna retest for complete thyroid panel soon. Hypothyroidism runs in the fam, so that’s why the doc is so adamant on getting me on meds, but I’ve never had signs nor low thyroid until now
Taking T4 wouldn't be a bad idea. Hgh upregulates conversion of t4 to t3, resulting in less t4. Overtime taking t3 itself will cause suppression because of the thyroids feedback loops (super simplified). Taking both at a 1:2 or 1:4 (t3:t4) would keep most people pretty balanced, obviously play around with things and figure out what works for you.
Good question… I’ll be following this post
