-3 Did I inject SubQ incorrectly?
This was my first self administered shot. Had 3 before (IM) in clinic.
So I pansied out and did subq.. will just do IM in glute next.
It was 27g 1/2 inch easy touch needle.
I did .5 ml.. which I heard for subQ is a lot for one dose in terms of causing sides.. 10ml vial with 1ml being 200mg.. so i did 100mg in one shot.
It is Wilshire pharmaceuticals clear test cypionate.. the oil seems quiet thin not sure what they use.
From what I heard there is suppose to be a burn, lump, or swelling or some kind of pain with subQ..
for context I'm about 148lbs and 5'10 in the moring about 5'9.5 in the evening.
I definitely have a bit of a stomach, if i havent eaten much day you can see a barely visible 4 pack.. but if im sitting and had a decent meal i got a nice little roll going on in my stomach area..
Anyways.. I felt 0 burn or stinging, no weird welts or swelling and this is injecting .50 to .55 ml in one shot. I heard .25 is the max you should do to avoid those issues.. granted its only been a few hours maybe those issues pop up after a few days?

Can I do 27g 1/2inch easy touch on my glutes as well? I have very little going on back in my glutes in terms of fat/size.. carry most of it in my stomach unfortunately.
I keep seeing peoples own stories and experiences with SUBQ vs IM and SUBQ is always up up a few hundred less total T then IM.. But either way.. Is there a chance I i didn't go deep enough? I went in at a 45ish degree angle.
Side question: Do i need to do anything special to preserve this vial since its 10ML? or is the rubber stopper and storing it in a random drawer in my bathroom fine?

So, first off, don't sweat the SubQ vs. IM thing too much. Some guys swear SubQ is less effective, but honestly, plenty of people get great results with it. If you're more comfortable doing IM in the glute next time, go for it. A 27g 1/2 inch needle might be a little short for the glutes though, especially if you're worried about hitting muscle.
As for the lack of burn or lump, that's not necessarily a bad thing. Sometimes it just goes in smooth. It doesn't automatically mean you did it wrong. Keep an eye on it, but you're probably fine. Also, pinning with the same needle you drew with is a big no-no, man. Always switch needles. The one you drew with gets dulled going through the vial's rubber stopper.
For preserving the vial, yeah, just keep it at room temp and out of direct sunlight. A drawer is fine.
I use easy touch needles I don’t think I am able to draw with it and then swap the needle like you can with the interlock ones that swap off after drawing. The pharmacy gave me some 22g and 25g needles 1 inch so I can use those to inject I guess but they big for sub Q in my stomach like I have been with the 27g 1/2 inch insulin syringe. Maybe I’ll just go glutes but been watching vids on vent glute vs dors glute but vent glute seems like ur injecting into ur hips and at 148lbs I feel like I may hit bone at that area but I’m also trying to be conscious of avoiding injecting into a vein by going dors glute or going to shallow? Anything wrong with the needle being dull other than pain? I’m not afraid of needles really at all more so paranoid about injecting into a vein even tho I know there aren’t many in that area and I can always aspirate to check. I’ve heard it’s not recommended anymore cause you can always be on the edge of a vein or vessel.
You can aspirate to be safe. Most docs wrote it off as it’s not a huge risk in reality. We do more injections and in weirder places with less expertise so I like to be safe. In thousands of needles I’ve only had a handful where I’d ended up in a vein and gotten blood.
You don’t have to pull the whole plunger back and vacuum yourself internally… just a tiny air bubble to ensure no blood. Not enough pressure created to do real damage.
I would assume you’re mistaken for your VG location. Even skinny 1/2”-1” should not hit bone even in someone super skinny. 1” is standard even for pediatric lower body injections. Videos and pictures can definitely help to an extent.
Yes the dulling can cause infection, more scar tissue, inflammation and pain as you stated.
With the easy touch they are closed system so you cannot remove the needle. In this case you draw it up with one, and then backload a new one to inject.
Backloading means drawing up the meds as normal like you do, but grading a new syringe, removing the plunger (hold from back or put somewhere sterile), and reverse filling it up with the meds you just drew. Like injecting into the back of it. Then you replace plunger (be careful with pressure and angles as you can loose liquids here), and inject the meds with a fresh needle! You can mix multiple oil based compounds into one syringe.
Boom! You use an extra pin, but you get a painless & safer experience. They legitimately less than 0.50 cents shipped so it’s pretty easy to justify with the cost of what we are putting into our bodies.
This pic gets posted here every so often and is an eye opener. This was with a much larger gauge (stronger/more thick metal so it is even less than what an easy touch or any 27-31g would go through.
Keep in mind this was with a SKIN representative so probably on a practice injection pad or silicone and still this drastic.
Now imagine a much more thin needle going in/out much more dense rubber stoppers.
Not to mention coring and the risk you run there injecting with the same needle. Occasionally bits of the stopper get stuck in the needle and injecting any foreign body causes issues.

unreal89Seems to me you wont get the effect of your test if your not going deep into the muscle where it’s 100% availability sub-q is only gonna give you 60% of your dosage. Still not be as effective more painful also I would assume.. at that weight you need to be shoveling food into your mouth.

Regarding the SubQ shot, everyone reacts differently. Some guys get welts, some don't. The .5ml thing might be bro-science, but keep an eye on sides, I guess. If you didn't feel anything, you probably got it in there. 45 degrees is usually the way to go. As for it being less effective, yeah, some claim that, but consistency is key no matter the method.
As for the glutes, a half-inch 27g might be pushing it if you're lean there. You might want to just stick to IM with a longer needle.
For the vial, room temp and out of sunlight is the general consensus. Your bathroom drawer should be fine, as long as it doesn't get too hot or humid in there.
What’s the risk of a lean low weight person using 27g 1/2 inch? It just being a deep subq or shallow IM at best injection? Higher chance of injecting vein by not going deep enough?

My BMI is on the low side of normal and healthy. What’s my plan? Eat more and lift weights and put on size. Much better than the 115lbs I was in HS.
If the bottle says inject IM and you injected oil sub q then any way you did it is incorrect. Lol
Well it’s strange because it says for subq on the bottle the pharmacy stuck on there cause that’s what the doc recommends but then on the actual manufacture sticker on the bottle it says IM use only. So looks like it can go either way. Subq is easier for me, but want to make sure I’m still getting close to same benefit of IM. Have an irrational fear of injecting into a vein even tho with IM but fear of needles or the pain with it.
I’ll wait for another couple days and if you turn gay then yea you messed up the shot

As for SubQ, I don’t use test so not sure what would be expected. I never have any reaction with my GH or peptides. I would see a reaction like a welt if I didn’t go deep enough.
Storing test, room temperature and out of direct sunlight. So, the draw should work just fine. I keep some 20ml aminos I have in a kitchen cabinet, lol.
