HCT at 53% at 200mg of Testosterone a week
ad
I've been on 200mg of Testosterone for about 3 1/2 months and my HCT raised by 3% (now at 53%) from baseline (50%) before dosing. Is this normal when starting and there is so much conflicting information if i should donate blood. I plan on doing 500 mg of testosterone for a cycle but want to make sure i understand how to manage HCT. All other markers on my bloods came back fine everything was in range. Any thoughts and any tips for when i start the 500mg and my current dose?

It is normal man, mine went to 53 as well when I was on cycle, I just donate blood every 3 months and have been fine ever since. Also drink lots of water.
Mine crept up to 52% on 300mg. I went down to 240mg which is more than TRT but less than a full blast. I typically don’t go over 360mg myself, but my blasts aren’t super test heavy as I prefer to focus on other compounds.
Ever since I went down I haven’t measured but I’m sure it’s still around 52-53%. I’ve heard people claim Hemoflow helps but I call BS snake oil from my research. I’m sure more experienced dudes in here can attest to that.
I don’t know of a solution other than donating which isn’t ideal in truly fixing it. Same boat as you kind of, but knowing others walk around 56-57% helps ease somewhat. I’ve also included a ton of cardio and water recently as I hear that helps, plus I’m cutting anyways so why not.
Good luck finding a solution my man. 500mg sounds fun.
Appreciate the input! Yeah literally all other markers have came back fine so im thinking i will be okay, i implemented more cardio into my routine so hoping that helps as well. Just so much back and fourth on the topic from my research so i figured i'd hit the forums and see what people think based off their experience.
Mine is 50% off gear, 53% on 150mg cruise and 57% on blasts at 500mgs. But I also live at 6,000ft, so it's naturally higher. I've had zero side effects of high hct and blood pressure 90/70 year round. I also drink nearly 2 gallons of water a day, daily cardio and tons of electrolytes; hct still creeps up.
So that's about what I'm expecting based on my latest labs at 53% after cruising on 200mg. How long did you blast 500mg for? Also what did you do to manage/ lower HCT after/on blast? Thank you for the response.
Run my blasts up to 14 weeks. Once I lowered my dose, it naturally came back down. I've never donated blood. I do take cialis at 5mgs daily and some clinics out there prescribe it for this purpose as it improves blood flow. I know it doesn't lower hct itself. I think some claim the increase blood flow elleviates the strain on your system from thicker blood. I use it for the pumps mainly. Nattokinese, grapefruit extract and ip6 have known to help. I tried ip6 and it did absolutely nothing for hct but did TANK my ferritin from the hundreds to 25, so that was a no go for me. I've research many many days if not weeks about high hct. 50-54 is the high range depending on what lab's scales theirs for, and no scale factors in high altitude. From what I've researched, Dr's at high altitude don't worry until you start to creep above 60%. And some say if you don't have any of the typical sides of high hct (headaches, lethargy, high BP) then there's nothing to worry about. And if you do have sides, then action needs to take place by donating or getting off high doses. Trt clinics everywhere and Dr's at low altitude will trip out and tell you to stop asap and donate to save their asses, licensure wise.
I tell myself if I go above 58% then I'll donate for piece of mind. I was planning on finding a new pcp this week and ask more questions. Last one wasn't concerned at all at 51%.
I haven't found a reliable Dr as they all seem very incompetent. Last pcp about had an aneurysm because my creatinine was 1.29 and thought my kidneys were failing and proceeds to tell me the creatine I'm taking wouldn't show elevated creatinine and I'm in trouble. Which it most definitely does. Haha. So it's hard to find concrete answers out there about anything really. Don't let my experience tell you that it's OK to run hct that high. I always feel 100%, never tired, never high BP, and I'm at altitude, so I'm ok with it until I speak with more Dr's at appointments.
High HCT is a super common side on TRT, and on cycle and very difficult to manage. Donating is a short term Bandaid at best and the body tends to compensates by producing even more RBCs and making it worse. I wouldn’t be running a cycle if my HCT was already at 53. Ideally you’d be in the mid 40s pre cycle.
Your TRT dose is too high. Lowering it, plus daily cardio and a ton of water is the best thing you can do to lower it and keep it low. There’s a couple supplements that can help too. Can’t remember what they’re called though. Some others may chime in that know what they are.
I'm curious how people can blast crazy amounts of test, Tren, etc. and manage their HCT? I definitely don't plan on doing any more than test no more beyond 500mg i feel like i should be able to do at least that and manage/ mitigate any serious concerns.
Also appreciate the reply
It’s mostly genetic. Some people hit 56-58 on 100mg ew trt dose, and others can be on 1000mg or more and stay at 45. Age seems to be a big factor too. Younger people tend not to have issues with it as much as older guys do.
I just looked at your bio, why are you on a TRT disc at 24? That’s way too young to be making a life long commitment to TRT. And your body is already not tolerating it. If youre at 53 on 200mv ew you’re going to be sky high on 500mg ew so that’s definitely a bad idea.
You have to be 25 to be on Eroids btw.
I appreciate the concern my levels were very low before i got on. I am very conscious of the decision I've made to get on testosterone and understand that it is a lifelong commitment. Just as I'm sure you do i take into consideration proper precautions and habits to ensure my longevity and health.
