+ 23 8 months post bicep surgery. Feeling good!

ad

Bf going down and muscle is packing on nice and clean. I’m not lifting stupidly heavy weights anymore, it’s high reps with a min of 8 (maybe 6 if I’m pushing myself a bit harder) but I generally want to stray away that and really enjoy the feeling of the mind muscle connections, really stretching and squeezing on every rep. I so psyched to share the next 4 months lean bulk. I’ve always had some injury wether it’s my shoulder, arms ir back but I’m literally training pain free for the first time in ages at nearly 43 years old!

Actually no, mostly because it’s titanium. But I’ve actually got. An official document just in case! No joke! Haha

Ouch, anything to do with that ankle and knees is pain! I had bilateral knee surgery about 5 years back now, that took hard work to recover. You’ll get there bro.

It's been almost 4 months already. I'm walking without assistance, but with a heavy limp. It was a trimalluleour ankle fracture. Lost all my cartilage, ripped every tendon and ligament off the bone, shattered fibula, all fucked up. 20 screws, 3 plates,a hook to reattach the tendons and ligaments and a button to hold them in place.

Hectic, dirt bike?

No actually, a bucket broke loose off of a tractor and came down on top of my leg. It pinned me to the ground. I had made a post about it with pics. Check it out. I put the link below. Pics are pretty gnarly! Lol

I think I remember seeing that. I worked in the mines for years with all kinds of big shit. It’s crazy how quickly something can go wrong. I’ve had some bad injuries as well bro. From plate in my head to 3 level fusion in my spine. Pins in my shoulder. Bicep reattachment.
Multiple Glass injuries with nerve repair surgery to my hand (I’m a glazier) so I feel ya bud. I spent a lot of time in rehabs.lottery will come around soon.. I hope lol

It's gotta bro! Something good gotta come out of that level of misery. I've had multiple back surgeries myself, with permanent nerve damage to the upper portion of the same leg. Not I've got matching nerve damage. At least it was the same leg! Lol. Honestly though, this was the most painful thing I've ever been through bro. I don't even remember the first few weeks. Almost like I was in a pain blackout. I spent 9 days at home with everything broken up, before I could get in for surgery. That was horrendous! Worst experience of my life! I have a new respect for the ankle joint. (Now that mine is destroyed)
I'm coming along great though. Doctor's are all shocked at my level of healing.

& all the Chemotherapy you've had too mate.

CHIMAIRA75's picture

I try not to even incorporate that. That was a rough time for me and it permanently fucked my body up, throwing me into andropause. As much as I may try to omit that portion of my life from memory. It's also something to stand on and say if I came out on top of that, there's no way I'm going to let this beat me. Just another speed bump brother

Chemotherapy!? Farrrk brother that’s tough

CHIMAIRA75's picture

Yeah..... About that lol. I'm a cancer survivor. Rough times brother! But no matter what, NEVER allow it to define you. I've been through alot of shit. Things I've never even spoke of on here. We're weight lifters brother! We're a different breed. Stronger than most, physically, mentally, and sometimes spiritually. You've got to apply that same "No Excuses" mentality to all aspects of life. That's what keeps me floating. Lol

Mate I’m just trying to keep it simple and not try and have anymore injuries. Sure it may happen.. but as long as I stay healthy and keep lifting smart and do about 80% of my max if not less, and just burn out with slow strict form reps. It’s been working great so far. It’s good ti always mix things up, but I’m not gonna let ego lifting get me.
