What's your go to protein mix in for oatmeal?

ad

I'm getting kind of tired with the same 2 flavors of protein mix ins I've been using for my oatmeal. Protein powder can be pretty hit or miss when it comes to mixing with other things. Ive been using PE science protein4oats in maple brown sugar and honey peanut butter for a while now. It's 80 calories and 20g of protein per serving. I was looking for some suggestions as to what others use instead of just taking a gamble on some new powder only to discover it just doesn't mix well with oats.

So what do you boys recommend for mix ins to oatmeal?

I've been using RAW x cbum cinnamon crunch cereal isolate powder. It tastes like the milk left over from eating cinnamon toast cruch I even put it in my coffe in the morning. 110 cal 25g protien only 1g sugar, 2g carbs and 0g fat.

I purchased Ghost's Cinnabon flavored protein powder at the recommendation of a guy i worked with. When you pop the lid it smells just like a Cinnabon store. But the flavor sucked. I'm trying to avoid wasting money on more protein powders if i can.

I like jacked factory iso vanilla and iso vanilla oatmeal cookie. They both are really good especially the cookie one. I've tried a few others and that's my favorite as of now. Stay away from the fruity pebbles I think by dymatize. That shit was trash in my opinion. Forced it down just for protein sake lol

I like that PB Fit peanut butter dried protein. It has less fat than peanut butter and a fair amount of protein. Just not as much as straight protein powder. Then I like to put frozen blueberries in with it at my 10:00 break so it cools it down enough for me to eat it during my allotted break time. It tastes really good like that. I’ve usually already had protein powder or a protein bar or eggs around that time so I’m not short protein. You can probably get about 25 grams of protein in The oatmeal with the PB Fit and the protein that is already in the oatmeal. With a glass of milk you got a decent amount overall. Keeps me full but not bogged down till lunch with sustained release nutrients.

@23Sparta will know of some good flavours ....

I think he calls sparkling water “spicy water” and instead of salt and seasoning on his chicken he sprinkles flour on it to make it “super flavor blasted” LMAO

Transparent Labs makes a good add in powder but for the cheaper route with natural ingredients like an unsalted exotic nut mix, walnuts, and a little flax seed to help move the bowels and clean the system and ground cranberries & dates to taste for sweetness and to cool it off add Kirkland protein milk and that’s my preferred route instead of adding milk to the powder but both are good.

If you need more sweetener a tablespoon of honey is enough to do the trick but ya that’s my go to for oatmeal

I mix 25 grams of protein with Oikos Greek nonfat yogurt, 1 cup of rolled protein oats, 2 tablespoons of peanut butter, 1/3 cup of sugar free chocolate chips, 1/3 cup of blueberries, 4-5 Big black berries and 1 large strawberry cut into 4ths. It's a time consuming breakfast to make, but I make enough for the entire week so it's worth it to me. I'll change up and add raspberries sometimes and different flavors of protein. It's very filling, around 65-70 grams of protein and good amount of fiber.

How the digestion from that? I used to make overnight oats like that and the gas even made me miserable lol…

It's been good, my body doesn't do anything funky. Keeps me regular especially in the morning, lol. I drink a ton of water also first thing in the morning also.

I could never get the right texture/consistency mixing protein powder into hot oatmeal. Does something to the protein powder that fucks it up. I switched over to eating protein pancakes for breakfast instead.

I mix it with Fairlife 2% instead of water to up the protein and add a little fat. Then use sugar free syrup. Makes them thicker/fluffier too. Yea it’s expensive but so is all the gear and vitamins I buy Crazy
