Not sure where to post this so I went with general talk. How many remember the WBF? Vince McMahons venture into competitive bodybuilding. He took some great physiques away from the IFBB, but you just can’t compete with the Weider machine, it’s like going up against the NFL. You guys have any favorites from it? Gary Strydom could’ve taken the Olympia but the WBF offer was huge.

Strydom looks like he could still hold his own even in todays standards.
Man, the late 80’s early 90’s guys were insane. Keep in king most of that footage was on film. Both video and photo. Dorian in his prime, under todays lights and todays cameras? Forget it.
I remember this. Thinking how can such big stars as berry demay, Mike Christian and Gary strydom turn theyr backs on weider and go compete in some federation no one ever heard of. The 1st show I watched on sky sports in the UK. It was different, more stage presence. More dancing.. Women included in the men's routines. It was a decent show. Fast forward to the second wbf show and all but Gary strydom wer off. Later finding out vince macmahon owned the whole company and was being investigated for supplying his wrestlers with peds.. So the wbf guys had to come in literally off peds. I remember some guy who's was a dietician called Dr pasquale who all the wbf guys blamed for the high fat diet he'd been writing down for them especially Mike quinn.. Haha
The thing was, I’m pretty sure, it was contractual. The guys got paid in addition to the prize money. Aaron Baker, Troy Zuccolatto, there were some impressive physiques, but you just can’t beat the machine lol. Didn’t Mike Quinn pass away?
Yes Mike quinn passed away sometime earlier this year. He was the bad boy of bodybuilding...alot of the guys that jumped ship to wbf was coz of Tom platz who was 1 of the nicest guys and most trustworthy back then.. And vinny mac paid them alot of money to come over. But he just turned it into a circus and it soon folded. Alot of the guys did eventually get back into ifbb with alot of opposition from the guys who stayed loyal. But the placings they got in ifbb was just scandalous. It was deffo political. Aaron bakers best years wer 1995-1998. He was as good as flex wheeler but just did not get the placings he's deserved
