+ 2 Boxing politics once again huh? We are the suckers

ad

Well well well @Bill1976 here we go again with the politics of boxing. This is getting rediculous man. It's pure and simple..the BEST AREN'T FIGHTING THE BEST...PERIOD! Us pure boxing fans were supposed to have already seen Crawford vs. Spence along with many other top fights, now Usyk and Fury fight fell out. It's crazy man. I understand money plays a part but what about legacy? Even Roy Jones said nowadays this a a big problem. Back in the 80's and 90's the best fought the best regardless and the promoters didn't get in the way of that, hell in fact they encouraged it.

Gorillakingz's picture

Yea def a what could’ve been story

DeeMan's picture

Last thing. Something has to be said about the KO power of Wilder. Arguably some say #1 KO power of all time. Tyson was impressed

DeeMan's picture

I know I 100% sound like a typical fan boy but that's just the reality of the situation. He's a straight what if just like Bo Jackson is a what if.

DeeMan's picture

And deep down inside I'm sure he knows that. That's gotta be a hard pill for him to swallow. He's a boxing historian who always talked about the greats and wanted to be the greatest. It bothers him definitely I bet. Hell he cries when Cus name is mentioned

SimonM84's picture

It looks like Fury is only accepting opponents he knows he can beat or has already beaten. Altboygh though he’s never fought Joshua, it would be wise for him to have one of these names on his resume before he retires. Usyk is a no nonsense fighter and maybe just maybe Fury knows there’s no way he can get in his head or physically intimidate him so he’s absolutely avoiding this at all costs.

DeeMan's picture

True. In reality if Fury is on top of his game he can beat Usyk. No easy fight though.

wanted's picture

I can’t believe there are still some who will sit through a whole boxing match. Youtube king of the streets thats where the excitements is now

DeeMan's picture

You can't sit through a whole boxing match cause you too damn busy chatting with all of our ole ladies you hollywood looking gigalo lol

wanted's picture

You right. I much rather make a movie then watch a movie. Hope everything is going good for ya.

DeeMan's picture

It's going well as long as you don't involve my ole lady in ya movie! Ole no good womanizing Wanted lol. Hope all is good.

JakeKO's picture

Yeah, Fury is being a douche bag. He doesn’t want to take the risk of losing that belt, so he keeps dicking him around. I’m guessing that he isn’t confident that he will beat him, or he is simply waiting for the promotion to increase the purse. They could all be involved in this, because they may feel the fight wasn’t getting enough hype. I guess we’ll see. Here’s a pretty good article about it:

https://www.cbssports.com/boxing/news/tyson-fury-vs-oleksandr-usyk-fight...

DeeMan's picture

Yep looks like he's not sure of himself winning. I just don't understand why he had to make a big scene and lie about the situation blaming everything on Usyk. I mean think about it..Usyk has 3 belts and Fury has only one belt and you offer him only 30% of the fight purse? Cmon Fury you know better than that!

Catalyst's picture

Slightly off subject, but that Joshua fight last night was painful. Time to hang the gloves up I think…..

DeeMan's picture

Meanwhile Roy Jones loses again. He needs to just STOP

Catalyst's picture

Agreed. At his age, why do it? Nothing to prove, top man is his day.

Bill1976's picture

I didn’t even watch it. Overated

Catalyst's picture

Wise man. I’d describe it as a waste of electricity…..

Bill1976's picture

Want to see some good boxing. Watch old fights from the 50s 60s and 70s and old Mike Tyson fights. Fury is very very gifted and I wish he would fight for undisputed. It’s a money maker

Catalyst's picture

The older fights were so much better. Bizarrely just yesterday I was watching some old vintage Mike Tyson including the “Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth” line.

DeeMan's picture

Yeah I always said Joshua was somewhat overrated. Good point

Bill1976's picture

I’m a fury fan but he’s ducking. I’m losing respect for him. I was bery disappointed

DeeMan's picture

Yep I think anyone that knows boxing is saying the same thing. I'm a Fury fan too but truth is truth. But Fury had the nerve to make a video about Usyk being a coward and how it's his fault, trying to basically put a spin on the situation. Hell just tell the truth

Gorillakingz's picture

Uysk did pull the plug not fury sooo

DeeMan's picture

Yeah I agree for a good reason

Gorillakingz's picture

That’s your opinion.

DeeMan's picture

Yea I have an opinion just like you have one my man. Just like the rest of the members on this post.

Bill1976's picture

I don’t see why he’s ducking. He can beat him but facts are facts he is ducking. I so wanted to see an undisputed.

Big Tone36's picture

Usyk too small for Fury, he can't beat him. The real fight would be Joe Joyce vs. Fury.

DeeMan's picture

Yea I think he can beat Usyk too so that's what I'm not understanding. Then again that dude has been diagnosed with mental issues. Now because of this stunt I'd rather see Usyk fight Wilder.

Bill1976's picture

That would be a good fight

DeeMan's picture

Wilder's only chance would be a KO. Wilder cannot out box Usyk.

Gorillakingz's picture

Terrible fight

Bill1976's picture

Who do you think would win?

Gorillakingz's picture

Honestly wilder. Only way to beat wilder is by putting him on back foot and only joe Joyce/ Tyson can do that

DeeMan's picture

Yeah it would. Technique vs no Technique but POWER.

Catalyst's picture

It saddens me to say this, but from the outside looks like Fury is ducking Usyk. He has openly said tge toughest fight he ever had was Cunningham, who’s comparatively small and quick, a lot like Usyk in basic style. Shame, but that’s heavyweight boxing, never been transparent.

DeeMan's picture

Yep that's exactly what I told my buddy. Fury is ducking Usyk for sure. I agree with Usyk for walking away from the negotiations with him. First off he was given a 70/30 split of the total money which he agreed to but didn't like, then Fury tells him that if he ( Fury) loses that in the rematch there will be a 50/50 split of the money. Now anyone who knows boxing knows that the winner gets more money in the rematch. That tells me that Fury never wanted that fight. Also, I think the Saudi's are giving Usyk more money to fight over there. In fact he may be fighting Wilder according to Wilder.
