I hope all of our Turkish vendors and their families are safe. I have an area near my town that is the largest Turkish population in the Northeast and they are in mourning.

Today the death toll is 30k. It's only been 6 days. Currently, only living things are being tried to be saved. There are no studies in buildings without sound and heat, where the dead are sure to exist. mass graves are opened.
Did you guys see the baby they found that was out there for 60 hours still alive with the umbilical cord still attached but the mother was dead. I have no words.
Yeh I did bud!! I thought it was dead at first and the way the paper worded it came across that way. You have huge natural tragedies going on like that where we can all group together and help each other out as countries - & at the same time we still have arseholes trying to bully and threaten any country that tries to stand up to his warped way of thinking.

I'm a Turk . death at least 40k . 6000 buildings were destroyed. These buildings are at least 6 stories high. families in this region are very young. There are at least 5 people in a family. And the earthquake happened at 4:30 at night. 2 times in a row 7.7 and 7.6 . the state cannot reach the regions. in some cities there is still no help , people died under the rubble from hypothermia and are dying . I'm so sorry, this is a state massacre. buildings are not inspected during construction . earthquake taxes were used for other things. most importantly, there is no staff trained to help. People are trying to save their own relatives.

There are still 6,000 dead. The number of destroyed apartments is 6000. Each apartment has at least 8 houses. People here consist of large families, father, mother and at least 3 children. The country hides the death toll. If 10 people died in each apartment, that would make 60k. very few survivors. I'm so sorry my country is devastated. 50 people live in some apartments. 7 cities in this case. Cities are not reachable and most of them are still not reached by aid teams . Ghost cities were formed.

Hopefully the world helps and not just the West. Maybe it will help with this Ukraine war if everyone helps in Turkey. Maybe some hood could come out of this horrible travesty.
You mean like the 31 tanks we promised Ukraine that is going to take months because we dont even have them readily in stock? Or the $68 billion that Congress appropriates in year one doesnt get fully spent until year five. So basically they will be demolished before real help finds them.

I was reading the News just when it happened and at first it was around 300 people then it just began climbing like crazy every 20 minutes. That is a huge number of people to have lost their lives - some will of been crushed underneath rubble in darkness for many hours whilst dying too, Horrific
It really makes you realize how lucky we all are.
Just think bud - if we each knew the exact date we were going to die just think how differently we would all probably live each day of our lives!

There is going to be over 10000 dead easily or maybe even double or triple. It truly is horrific. I can’t stop thinking of all the kids and seniors. The weak ones who have no chance only luck.
