+ 1 Severe Shoulder Tendonitis

Hey guys I went to see a sports medicine medical group. They said they can give me plasma enriched blood or benign injections. Has anyone ever heard of these injections? I cant even find it online. They said the injections will fix it?
Received my results but have no damn idea what they mean. I got both shoulders no contrast. I asked the doctor to do it without and he said contrast would be better but without should give him a good enough idea of he’s dealing with.

I went for a acupuncture session today in hopes of getting some type of relief until my orthopedic appointment on the 31st. I’m not sure if it’s the placebo effect but I feel a little relief. It was so bad I was up for almost 60 hours straight.
I haven’t slept in 2 days the pain is so bad and constant. I got lidocaine patches, ice packs, heating pad, and a TENS machine and nothing is working. I won’t take pain killers but I been taking 800 mg prescription Motrin but nothing is helping. I had my girl rub it hard but it made it worse. Any ideas fellas? Would a shot of gear in the area help?
An MRI will give Doctor more details about your shoulder tendinitis. These MRIs are on point my brother. I know a lil something about them. As far as plasma enriched blood, that's just to get healthy blood in area to help stimulate recovery. The platelets and plasma are concentrated after a process and contain more healing factors. But first you have to get to the root of the problem and an MRI will help diagnose this
You need to get the MRI done buddy, no one will be any the wiser on what is wrong with it until you do that.
Its exactly the same as going to the Hospital with pain or illness and them having to take bloods first to know anything at all about your condition
Yeah that’s the plan. I like to be on point when doing something medical. I was considering steroid injections but that will just possibly easy the pain but I want it fully healed.
I once used BPC-157 and TB500. It took the acute pain away quick but it never healed it. I need an MRI because I think it’s and impingement.
Ya get an MRI with contrast. It sucks but it will show much more with it. Also had that done on my left shoulder it's been fucked for awhile and decided I needed to get it done. Was hoping for something simple labrum tear, tendonitis, etc. Unfortunately its a rare injury called a partial hagle lesion. Only way to operate is for them to fully open it.
TricepatopsLol. Something simple like a labrum tear. Bro they are not simple and once you mess the labrum up most likely it won't be the same. You would be better off having a rotator cuff injury. Tendonitis is no joke either nothing you can really do for it. Rest and hope it doesn't flare up when you use it again. If it is chronic tendonitis and pain is bad enough surgery will be needed. MRI with contrast can be painful as fuck and also no pain at all. It all depends on who is doing it. The lady who did my last one asked why I was so tense and having anxiety and I told her the last person who did the injection caused me so much pain which is from the pressure of the contrast going into the shoulder socket. She answers me sorry I wasn't here but I usually do it and I already injected it in. I was so relieved and surprised that one person could cause so much pain and another caused none.
Simple in terms of common. Labrum tears, rotator cuff, and tendonitis are all common. They all have multiple options in terms of treatments being conservative to aggressive. As for contrast mine was fucking brutal man. Adjusted the X-ray machine 3 times on me. Took me good 10 minutes to collect myself after that injection.
TricepatopsHey hit me up with a FR I am interested in your shoulder problems. Because of my 25 years of shoulder pain and they still don't know the exact cause of pain I have spent countless hours looking over shoulder problems.
TricepatopsI didn't see that you actual had a partial hagle lesion. I see what you mean though by that. Shoulders suck, I have had 3 surgeries on my left and it still causes me pain and weakness. It has been 25 years in pain everyday. I feel you on the contrast I was scared to go back after the first Injection because the guy who did it didn't normally do that. I went to a place where all they do is MRI and scans 24 hours a day. The second time I got the Dr. Who regularly does it and no pain at all the numbing shot was the worse part. But yea I was sweating and scared and having bad anxiety because of the pain from the first. I fell for you onThat contrast though as they don't tell you it could be painful.
What is it about the contrast that can be so painful ?
TricepatopsIt is the amount of contrast put into the little shoulder socket it is something like 15mls. The pressure is the hard part and unfortunately pressure is not controlled well by numbing agents.
Fr request sent man.
Jesus I've just read up on what an MRI with contrast dye actually is!! It says the main side effect of the dye is feeling or being sick, doesn't sound like a pleasant experience.
TricepatopsIf you look up more into contrast dye it has some very terrible sides. It can actually accumulate in the body. So it isn't something you want to get unless necessary. But for shoulder it is a necessity because of how complex it is.
20 + years of pain I think I would still opt for it. No pussies in here that’s why we do what we do brother. You see some of these guy went through hell with the contrast and did it again. Tough dudes in here. I know you would do it to if it would help you find what’s wrong.
Mate I don't know how you have put up with it for so long, I would have tolerated it for a month then given in. Living in constant pain is no joke - you can only do painkillers for so long as they lose effectiveness and ultimately are no good for you. When I got diagnosed with B12 anaemia they said my Haemoglobin was so low I was on the verge of a stroke and I needed a blood transfusion asap. Now for someone who couldn't even stand blood draws years back this was my worst nightmare scenario in life! I came back in 12hrs later and told them to 'Blade me' Lol It ended up being no big deal at all having 3 bags put into me - I was just sat there eating my Southern Fried chicken whilst they did it Lol
Damn brother I love fried chicken lol. I never took pain killers. They destroy us. Sometimes I ice my shoulders for hours to take the edge off.
Sorry to hear that. I’ve had so many surgeries from injuries. I’m my younger years I played very rough. I’m feeling it now.
By plasma enriched do you mean Platelet -rich plasma (PRP) injection?
Haha yes. The nurse sent me and email and said PRP or Benign Injection. Unless she made a typo.
It's PRP which I kinda figured. So what they will do is draw your blood first then they put your blood through a process that separates your platelets from your plasma takes about 20-30 mins. They will then do an ultrasound guided injection.
I had it done couple years back. I had 90% tear in my 9th rib and my 8th rib. The injection wasnt fun but there has been improvements in terms of pain and discomfort.
Right on point. Good info bro
I had cortisone shots but it did nothing. Did it just take the pain away for you or did it also heal the injury?
Healed about 8-10%. Once you tear a muscle there's no getting that muscle back to 100%. For you, if it's just tendonitis you should get a good benefit from prp. With the possibility of healing it drastically.
Good to know. It’s hurts 24/7 now. I’ve had it for many many years.
Get the MRI then decide the best treatment. Either way I would recommend doing the PRP if it's an option. You'll have restrictions of some sort. For instance I couldnt lift more than 5 lbs for 6 weeks.
Holy Shit! That’s like a surgery recovery time.
That's what I said!!
Thanks for your help Vm.
No problem man! Good luck.
I've never heard of these before - but @HanginLow might of.
Thank you buddy
I have heard about it but know very little about it I am afraid.
