I am thinking of using A very large Thick Rubber band to work out with on days off to the gym.. Any Good?

I have a couple of these thick bands made of rubber that you can stretch and isolate one part and move the other part and so on. I heard there is this trend of working out really slow i forgot what they call it, but i wonder if these bands are tight and you really get good resistance has anyone used these and got some nice results?

Like others said you need to rest for the muscles to heal. On days you can't make the gym the bands are great.
Working out with bands is still a great workout but it is that, a workout, not a day off. I could run you through a workout with just bands that would leave your knees wobbling and arms shaking. Day off = rest
I've got a whole set of those things. bought 'em for assisted pullups and for travel. They feel different than real weights but you can get a decent workout with them. I like to hold a heavy band at arms length and pull apart. Great for the chest, delts and tris. It's kind of like the old Bullwork-thing my old man had, that spring loaded thing you could pull apart and push in.
Sounds like a great plan. I was on the treadmill the other day and started pulling myself down into the belt like I was trying to stop it. I increased my heart rate up so fast from 154 to 175...I was pretty pumped lookin after about 25 minutes...
On off days i like to focus on prepping meals , eating, re thinking the prior workouts , and it makes my next workout session exciting
PropheticWookieI like to work with rubbers both for variety and when I do herd work. I do them very slowly. Thus, the time under load increases and my muscles burn and tear). And from such cycles I saw the effect in hypertrophy
yeah your right, recovery and sleep when i can is always good, When i was laying in bed i wrapped the band around my foot and was doing curl, pulls, and like you said different muscles that seem to get used. I am not lazy but like i said on days off just laying down pulling and stretching seemed light and easy but i need to check myself. Sometimes going through work out motions gives me what more than likely s a psychological boost. Sometimes when i am not motivated and i miss the gym, that will be my go to stretch and fast and slow tension push and pull. I def need to get quality rest/sleep more often. Working out/Diet life etc always a work in progress and changing it up, when also bored. Appreciate itzz!
PropheticWookieBy the way, when I started stretching and doing massage outside of training days. This began to have a good effect not only on my progress in the gym, but also on the quality of life, mood and sleep.
TricepatopsYou can use those for the tiny muscles and also to strengthen up your rotator cuff muscles. You can workout with them but me personally, I don't like them because they remind me of my years of physical therapy. Look up rotator cuff exercises with bands and you can do alot with them.
If you are putting the work in the gym like you should be, then your days off should be just that, a day off. Some light cardio is ok but you need those days off to let the muscles repair and get stronger and bigger and to let the CNS recover.
If you have any gym time under your belt, the bands are not worth the effort. If you have never picked up a weight before, then the bands could be of some use, but not on your day off.
PropheticWookieHere's my typical mistake. I trained a lot and did not pay attention to rest. As a result, I overtrained and did not understand what the essence of rest was. But we grow when we recover the good, and do not plow ourselves in the hall.
