+ 1 Should I be worried about these Hemoglobin and Hematocrit values?

ad

I'm 7.5weeks into my first 500mg test C cycle. Should I be worried about these Hemoglobin and Hematocrit values:

Hematocrit = 53.2%

Hemoglobin=18.3 ng/dL

At what level should I be worried and are there other options for lowering these values beyond giving blood?

(Also I'm new here, if this wrong sub to post in let please me know and I'll remove/repost)

If your able to do a double red donation that's your best option. A whole blood donation knocks your H&H down 3-5 points but you're also losing a pint of blood. The double red donation allows you to give 2 units of red cells but not actually lose any blood volume. The perks is your H&H will drop 4-6,7,8 points and you'll feel like a million bucks afterwards. The machine pulls out a unit of blood, separates the reds, and returns plasma, whites,and a saline solution..then repeats the process once more and you're on your way. My H&H was 52.3/ 17.4, did the double red and drew labs 2 weeks later. 46.1/ 15.3 was the result.

I've done 3 so far over the last 2 years and no complaints. I can train the next day with no issues. Needle is smaller as well, procedure last about a 1/2 hour. The only down side I've encountered is you must wait 4 months in between donations to let your RBC/ferritin/iron return to normal levels.

Elevated H&H is beneficial for endurance athletes or strongman/powelifting leading up to a competition but not for the average joe. Most standard US tests want your Hematocrit under 51-52, some such as my lab 50. Doctors will take action if the see 54-56, anything over that and you could be asking for serious trouble. Hope this helps a little. Stay safe and train hard.

Also take lower doses of aspirin daily, that should help break up the red blood cells. Doctors usually have people who are at risk of heart attacks to take baby aspirin to lower the red blood cell count.

This guy is around your numbers.

Thanks Pxpxp, I'll looking into donating - will be hard to do but I'll try. I was between 50-51% precycle if that helps.

Bro do you live in an state that’s is above sea level? The low oxygen causes you to have a higher number. I lived in a state that was very high above sea level and my number were always around 16 to 17.

18 is getting up there. I would definitely donate some blood ASAP. After donating, you should be knocked down a couple points. I’m guessing this is your first cycle, because you’re not running anything with the test c.

And IF you are to high, you should see a doctor and get meds to lower that. Also a doctor can give you a note to have the blood bank extract the blood and dispose of it.. at least that’s what it was in my state.

Did you already give blood already? Most blood donation centers won’t allow you to donate above 18 or 19.

I'm 600' above sea level. I'll see about donating blood, I'm worried about doing it discreetly.

Yeah, really need to be careful with this! Mine was around where yours is a couple years back and the doc told me make sure I don't fly in a plane or go anywhere like Denver Colorado that's high in altitude or I may be in trouble.

Please keep this in mind in the meantime while your levels are high.

Definitely donate bro.. it can’t hurt. And if your planning of using testosterone with TRT or cycles you better be donating every 8 weeks or so. And just remember there is a thing called HIPPA. DBol said it right.. call the day after and have your blood thrown out.

I had 15.7ng/dL when i gave blood at Red Cross and he said that was perfect. 17.2 is high normal. 60% thickens the blood if this info helps. But you want a collective evaluation. Whats the rest of your bloodwork results. If just one thing is a little off but all your bloodwork is normal i wouldn't panic. You need to put it all together if you are not going to seek professional advice and trust us here to diagnose you.

its over the upper limit of normal, donate some blood and go to the grocery store and buy yourself grapefruit. have a half or one whole grape fruit every day, it has been shown to reduce hemocrit and hemoglobin by a noticeable amount anywhere from 3 to 6% resultsd may vary. but yeah donate blood right but call them a day later and tell them that youre sick, they will throw out your blood so some poor soul doesn't get your roid blood

What should a person say they are sick with?

If you don’t get it thrown out, there will be a Jacked grandpa coming out of a donation center! Or maybe all that testosterone will give that poor soul a raging Bonner!! Lol.
