+ 6 Alcohol and AAS

ad

Ok guys, I've seen this a few times lately from the newer members to our community and thought I'd add some personal experience. There's information available with the search button, but I don't at all mind helping. Ok, a recent personal experience, I had my first EQ run, and I'm no stranger to the compounds, but I decided to step outside the box. Long story short the results took a while, but were great. Very great. The sides took even longer and even though I still felt great and gains were coming, monitoring myself I saw a remarkable rise in BP. Ok, let's fast forward. Off for a month, stats evened out. Birthday came last week, I drank for 2 days, nothing obnoxious, but some drinks two days in a row, no intoxication. Felt fine. Blood pressure spiked and took 3 days to normalize. Look guys, I am on nothing other than my prescribed TRT protocol, the monitors don't lie. If you're running compounds, don't drink. I'm not going to post my numbers unless under demand because there's a risk of someone saying "you weren't that bad." Just don't, and best wishes. PM for details if you'd like.

Been atleast 8 years for me since a drink. I find its used for people as an escape or a cover, Nothing good comes from it what so ever. Day by day I say no drastic changes, just take each day as it comes to not follow a path but lead the way forward.

I just stay clear of the stuff, a strong mental state you can accomplish so much greatness.

No matter if this thread was written a few weeks ago, I appreciate your gesture to help those in need. +1 friend.

I am speculating here so take this with a huge grain of salt but EQ as we know last like 28 days in the body overall (undecylenate has a 14 day biological half life) and so I wonder if your RBC, hemoglobin, and hematocrit are still elevated, even though your blood pressure has normalized. Maybe the alcohol caused an increase in water due to the water retention from the carbs from the drinks. That combined with the higher RBC, hemoglobin, Hematocrit might have caused it. Maybe you need to donate blood

Good thread as always, drinking is hard hard hard. I truly think more than half of all Americans suffer from some kind of mental depression and booze is just another outlet for pain and suffering. I don't have an answer for anybody that drinks. I know that nothing positive comes from it whatsoever. Find the strength folks to follow a positive path both physically and mentally.

We bought new "nurse on a sticks" for the nursing units so i keep one of the old ones in my office. I check my BP, o2 and pulse everyday because i got OCD lol. Best thing to have handy and one that is calibrated and exact is even better. Its a $4000 device at my disposal.

Yea I quit over 20 years ago.
Used to actually drink beer during workouts so I don’t judge...
Hangovers got so bad in my thirty’s I just quit.
Used to hit every Hooters in Jax Fl during vacations. Lol we’d literally go to all four , wake up hit a gym and do it again lol.
I remember one girl saying shouldn’t you guys be vacationing in Myrtle Beach.
I was the only dude in the joint wearing socks with my sandals..

You've just brought back memories of my sheer and utter madness when I use to be an alchy and I use to drink Vodka & Orange through my so called 'Training sessions' LMAO I'd use it as a form of hydration nearly gipping on the harshness of the biting vodka. I put the fact I was so weak and skinny down to getting older and my test levels weren't what they use to be. Nothing at all to do with the fact I never ever ate, drink from 7am till midnight, had no vitamin or test levels to speak of Lol Dark F'kin times ....

Just reminded me of my dumbass self back in the day going to the gym on coke, ketamine, and/or dxm and a stomach full of preworkout while hungover. It’s just insane looking back on it and it’s a wonder we didn’t die or at least get seriously injured.

Yea it’s definitely good to educate guys.
The thing with bodybuilding is attracts ocd type guys, and we’re all prone to addiction behaviors.
I mean honestly a stable person is just no going to train on Christmas and carry food around everywhere they go.
Very few guys on here are what I’d call stable.
At my age I should be well past using steroids and arguing with “Rusty” over which one of us is fatter... : )
It’s a tough spot. I want to steer guys in the right direction but not be hypocritical.
I think the correct order in life is
1. Work
2. Family
3. Gym
That’s been my experience. 2 and 3 don’t exist without work, so it’s my main priority..

I definitely have an addictive personality, but I'm blessed to have not picked up a drink or done a drug in 4 1/2 years. Both you guys hit the nail on the head. We have to have our priorities straight in life, or what's the point. I am that guy hitting legs on Christmas and meal prepping broccoli, chicken, sweet potato and rice every week. But I always make sure my training is never a hinderance to my family or my career.

Naproxen can be hell on the liver too, sometimes even when you follow the dosage on the bottle. I had a friend od on it a few years back.

One thing Molin, family is not always good brother, I wish this was true but sadly blood doesnt mean shit in my experience.(I'm not talking about my kids).

Ain't that the fu**in truth mate - I learnt my alcoholism from my evil rotten mother. Abandoned me at 8 years old, reappeared at 16 a full blown pisshead. Then I got all the lovely abusive midnight phone calls, knocks on doors, ringing my work screaming at my work colleagues in the day, calling my girlfriends mothers at their work the list goes on and on.

My father was drafted into the Vietnam War at 21 years old. He ended up getting shot twice and lost his shoulder. He never found peace with it and it consumed him with resentment, hate and alcholism. Guess who got to see all that growing up.

the list goes on and on for sure

I understand that he didnt have a choice whatsoever, but he never could let it go. Like I've said in other posts the mind can really get fucked up and twisted. It a shame but there is no fixing his. I refused to expose my children to his nastiness when they were growing up. I dont regret it at all. Good conversation as always.

Thanks
