+ 1 Covid, who's had it and how was it
ad
First of all I can guarantee you you will be banned if you spew some bs on here about it being a hoax or some other nonsense.
I've talked to a couple people who've contracted it on here, I'm curious as to how you managed it and what it was like for you.
I just want to hear your experiences with it, keep any political or anti mask bs to yourself. This is not the place to troll, you'll be booted quick. This is a saftey first pro mask forum, not a conspiracy theory den of fuckery....

Hey I've just realised I qualify for this page now TBone!!! lol
Thankfully I got what appeared to be only the mild version or the Post-vaccine version consisting of a Very bad headache, Fever and High Temperature, complete loss of appetite (the worst day I managed 2 forkfuls of food), abdominal pain and The Squitters. This all lasted for 3 days, the 4th day I began to feel better and 5th day was totally rid of it. On the third day I did actually train but only because I wasn't willing to see anymore gains lost which did make me feeling like puking after each set Lol
Each of those 3 days I felt awful, headache was the worst part. All I can say is how it feels accompanied with not being able to breathe normally and losing sense of taste and smell I do not want to know - undoubtedly being vaccinated helped to fight it off quickly.
We are at the point now,...... that everybody is eventually going to get it (or develop immunities to it (vaccine)).
Caveat: The developing immunities thing may only go so far. It is a virus hence it mutates.
Aren't we already inundated with covid stuff let's focus on lifting...reaching goals... helping each other achieve them....not arguing about covid...just my thoughts
AnonPosted this like 3 months ago bro
Cool
Been tested 8 times so far happy to say negative still, did antibody test a few months back and sure enough negative also. My job for the most part mandated testing every 3 week.. I did have to qurentine for 14 days because of exposure to a positive individual. I have UC; dnt know if that puts me at any more risk for serious complications.but then on the other hand im o- blood type which now I'm hearing less complications; so many conflicting articals stories research. Its definitely a scary time.. well be safe every one
I had it! Posted results of my “positive result” on lab section photos(July 8th)! For me it wasn’t that bad! I was lucky.., My doctor said I was the only one that tested positive of everyone she’s tested in her office that didn’t end up in the hospital. I recommend everybody should go to the doctor and get tested. It’s only 50 bucks and most of the time your insurance pays for it. At least mind did, but I tested positive(anti bodies)
-Got it in June
-I was ill for only 3 days, but took 5 days off from work & layed around(I work alone w/ no co workers so returning to work after a week wasn’t an issue). I had my girlfriend drop me off supplies and I didn’t going to any stores, gas stations, etc, etc for two weeks after! I tried to be as responsible as I could & followed protocols.
-felt weak for 2 weeks after I got over it. Was really “dragging ass” & exhausted! Felt like I had ran a marathon everyday even though I was taking it easy. I even stayed off from logging on eroids for about a week :0)
-Age 50ish(don’t want to give exact age)
-Was not on gear or TRT when I was ill(cleaned out since Feb)
-Took zinc multiple times Daily w diet tonic water & quinine(Dave Palumbo Protocol)
-Type B+ blood(maybe has something to do with it)
-It was not the worst flu I ever had! I would rank it #3; I have had at least 2 Flu’s in the past that were more Debilitating or longer lasting to my body’s fingerprint/genes!
-Hitting the weights but really taking it light & easy! No H.i.t. Training or supersets just pump training w/ light weights.
I don’t know anyone who has gotten it and I live in a hard hit area. I’m grateful for that, but it makes me wonder where all these cases are coming from. I’m hoping everyone starts following the mandates and we can start getting back to normal. Hope everyone stays safe.
AnonNobody I'm close with has gotten it but I've heard a few people I would refer to as acquaintances got it. And I've heard some stories from people I know about people they know who got it.
From what I've gathered is it hits some people hard and other people not so hard, and the reasons why is not always discernible.
Everyone in my office caught it, of the 15 people, 1 was hospitalized (59 and overweight) the other half felt like shit, the other half had a bad cough for one day and a fever then recovered in 3 days. One was tested multiple times and found not to be a carrier or to have the virus. That one person was sick of the way they test you. That one person was also exposed to infected people during his job. Ask me who that 1 person is.
I also know multiple people who had it. One of my friends was hospitalized but not put on a ventilator.
You put this very touchy subject in off topic. People have strong opinions on this "virus" and I am one.of those. There is not enough time or space for me to share my thoughts and opinions because let's be honest, this is a fitness forum where we talk about shit related to that and not this type of stuff. You ask for trouble when you put this here and telling people they will be banned if they go into politics and opinions and dangle a carrot in their face is perplexing. Plus, you lack the power to do so and it makes me scratch my head.
Is there nothing else to talk about?
Your post rings of Facebook bro. We are not just willy nilly banning people. And you can have an opinion, but if your opinion is dangerous, bullshit we will put you in timeout. I trust you are plenty smart enough to know exactly what I mean.
I dropped facebook a long time ago, its nothing but memes and inspirational quotes followed by bullshit. I know you're not just banning people by clicking your fingers. You know when you had a rough day at work and want to unwind and the same thing follows you where you go to do the unwinding? That was my moment.
My bad.
It’s all good bro. It is stressful times we are living in and a daily challenge to keep your wits about you
AnonThere have been some excellent contributions on here so far, Greg and pale have made it clear if the conversation goes sideways and down the wrong path you'll be banned.
If you want to express your strong feelings that's totally fine with me, couldn't care less about you voicing your opinions as I have plenty of my own on the subject.
You contributed in the exact manner I was hoping for. So thank you. It's good to hear people first hand accounts with the virus and how the symptoms affected them.
This subject is very relevant and deserves discussion, I'd like to know how it's going to affect my daily life and my ability to workout. The temptation to voice your strong opinions is something you have to manage by yourself. I can't control how you or others react to those temptations, hence the reminder in the first sentence. I'm fully capable of logging on here and holding my tongue and so are you apparently because you've kept your opinions quiet so far.
If you'd rather not comment or engage in further discussion (you contributed very well btw) then that's ok too, there's plenty of other posts more related to fitness if you rather spend your time there.
I've found the majority of people's personal experiences very relevant to fitness, almost everyone contributed with no problems. I'm happy with all of this so far. Plus lex was a douche and he got banned, I'm not mad about that either.
Thanks for the info!
Give them a vote if you find it helpful.PermalinkMy boy's 2 year old son got it. Wicked bad infection in the lips. They wanted to test him twice and both results positive. Like they didnt believe he had it or stuck with the rumor that kids cant get it or spread it. He was hospitalized for a week.
AnonDamn... That's something id rather not have to go through.
Damn mate I bet that was a very scary time for the parents.
I received this by email today from the NHS regarding Blood donation:
You may know that NHS Blood and Transplant needs convalescent plasma donations from people, especially men, who have recovered from the coronavirus.
Blood plasma donations from people who have recovered can be transfused into seriously ill people who are struggling to develop their own immune response to aid recovery.
The antibodies in the plasma can help fight the virus – and save lives.
Please offer to donate plasma and help save lives if you:
1. Have had the coronavirus or the symptoms (fever, a persistent cough or loss of smell and taste)
2. Can travel to one of our plasma donors centres, in major towns and cities.
For more information and to offer to donate, please complete the form at www.nhsbt.nhs.uk/plasma-trial/
Plasma donation is safe and easy. It takes about 45 minutes and then you can carry on with your day as normal. Your body replaces the plasma in 24-48 hours and you can donate as often as every two weeks. Your body quickly replaces your antibodies.
Many thanks for supporting your NHS at this most important time. We look forward to hearing from you. We need your help to fight COVID-19.
I just read something the other day about how researchers are having a tough time getting enough volunteers to do double blind studies j the effectiveness of antibody treatment because so many people are donating for immediate use outside of clinical trials. I’m not sure if the merit of the article but it’s something I think may be worth looking into before donating. If it goes through a research group someone still gets the treatment but more information is being gathered about it so there’s a double benefit to donating.
I donated at Red Cross a couple weeks ago.
Thought I may have had it in February. Haven’t been contacted so apparently no anti bodies..
Yes, get the app. It will show you your entire donation history and where you blood went
AnonThey've got an app you can download and view the results, also track your donation I believe?
The American Red Cross is testing for antibodies in all blood donations as an incentive to donate, letting one know if they have been exposed or not. Also I would guess they would use some of that for that purpose.
Have had a 5 friends get it now that I know of. The last three were a close call for me and that is when I started taking it a lot more seriously. One of those three spent 3 weeks in the hospital the other two it just beat the piss out of. All three of these were avid gym goers (coincidence, not likely) but it also maybe saved them from it being worse although three weeks in the hospital is pretty goddamn bad. And the one other really belonged in the hospital imo but rode it out. It was 12 days before the health department called him with the results of his test, luckily after five days his doc put him on chloroquine snd steroids and things started improving. At day 16 the hospital called him with results and sent him a 2000 dollar bill...I told him to threaten a lawsyuit for their negligence
My neighbour's wife is 34 she had it she had all symptons cought almost her lungs out they didn't want to hospitalized here at first because she whas too young after that she did another attack and then they hospitalized here she whas there for 5 days after that 2 weeks quarentine at home her men never got it in the beginning she whas making anti bodies now she tested herself again and she doesn't make antibodies anymore this is serious shit we all gotta take our responsibility and fuck those people who screams conspiracy 5G en other shit these people are nobrainers until a relative will die from covid
Yep they’re saying the antibodies only last a few months! My doctor told me to keep wearing a mask when I go out because you can get it again.
Well and then I scrawled out of this den of fuckery just to read this.
So there is that.
I know of
One elder lady and one gent died while having it. At 90 plus years.
One younger feller about 25 had cold/ flew like symptoms . Tested positive. Ran a low fever 2 days and that's all.
Other than that I dont know any one else.
"you will be banned if you spew some bs on here about it being a hoax or some other nonsense."
YES, I love a good echo-chamber! It's a good thing that when someone has a viewpoint that differs from the herd, we can just ban them. That will really make them think twice before spewing out any wrong-think. It really helps prevent having to think critically about the frightening implications. Thinking sucks and it's hard.
Sounds like you’ve been living in an eco chamber, and want to deny the clear science and its indisputable facts. Just about everyone knows someone who has had a hard time with it at this point. I have.
When you mix science and politics together, you get politics.
.
I've never denied that there is something going around, but the origins of it I can't claim to know with any degree of certainty. But it is obviously not nearly the vicious killer they pretend it to be. I've known people who've got it. It's just as dangerous as influenza is to those who are particularly vulnerable. Young, healthy people have nothing to worry about. If you actually think 120,000 deaths (the common flu totaled ~80,000 deaths in 2018 and no one said a fucking WORD about it) justifies shutting the entire PLANET down, ruining the economy, and taking freedom away (forced quarantines, lock-downs, mandatory masking/muzzling, etc), you're the one not playing with a full deck of cards. If you think all of this absurd overreaction is all about our safety, you're out of your fucking mind. Did you already forget the time that the TV said it was okay to "protest" and riot, but not okay to open your business? Keep listening to the "experts", and keep watching the idiot-box, buddy. The problem is most of you guys have slept-walked through your entire life, so you don't even know what fucking planet you're on, so anyone who points out the things that I do is of course seen as a "Looney Toon". As the saying goes... "The thing about smart motherfuckers is that they seem like crazy motherfuckers to dumb motherfuckers."
AnonWait...you read the warning presumably, you actually quoted it, and then proceeded to disregard it? I'd call reading a warning and then continuing in a fashion contradictory to said warning pretty dumb, wouldn't you? You admittedly think others are crazy if they don't share your viewpoint. I hate to break it to you lex, you've just called yourself a dumb motherfucker.
I posted this to hear about people's first hand accounts with the virus, not to debate whether or not politics was a factor or if the information provided to the public was correct. Everyone here has met people like you over and over, steadfast in your opinions and full of drama if people disagree (or dont share your view fully). Glad to see you go, I hope you save the world with your perceived brilliance...
Molinin302A resident here at my job was hospitalized back in January for a little over a week, the diagnosis was pneumonia. Fucked her up pretty good. This was January, so she had to get some bloodwork done recently, go figure, now she's carrying the covid-19 antibodies. The U.S. isn't handling it correctly in my opinion. Everyone wants life back to normal but thats not going to happen without sacrificing some convenience. Suffocate the spread. Herd immunity is a ridiculous thought in my opinion, there is absolutely no way of predicting a mortality rate, but it won't be good. I can promise that.
100%
Boom, agreed.
Agreed
I didn’t call you stupid, I’ve read the things you’ve put up here, and I thought they revealed intelligence. It’s more dangerous than influenza by all metrics. It’s just that it doesn’t effect some people at all and that makes it more dangerous, where influenza tends to affect everyone with symptoms so most people stay home.
I don’t think 120,000 deaths is worth shutting the world down. Most of the developed world is back in businesses economically with some precautions which you seem to view as a threat to your personal freedom. I’ve killed more brain cells than most, but I’m still smart enough to recognize your 120,000 figure is wrong.
There are 156,000 deaths just in the US today directly attributed to Covid-19. The deaths above what you can statistically expect, which is incredibly consistent day to day month to month and completely predictable unless something is wrong(COVID-19), is north of 204,000 at least, but surely higher as the statistics lag by a few weeks for this year already. So before we are done it will be more than all the US deaths in world war 2. That’s a result of poor leadership decisions and ridiculous, frankly embarrassing, behavior by to many Americans and that is why the economy is in the tank with the deficit exploding, when we could have been out of this hole by now.
I do have a degree in political science, you can believe that or not. So I know I am an educated consumer of what the press puts out, and can see through the bs. I just have a criminal record that precludes me from using what’s left of my brain for a living. I can only produce what my body can produce. I haven’t sleep-walked through life like you think I or most people have. My life as been abnormal to say the least.
120,000 was a typo. I meant 150,000. My apologies.
See, the problem here is; this "viewpoint" is expressed as a rant. hence you will be leaving soon.
Is there politics in shutting down the economy? you bet
Is there politics in trying to open the country? Yes there is.
Is there politics in trying to get kids back to school? sure.
Do we discuss politics on eroids? No, we do not.
Is there a pandemic going around where there is no vaccine? Yes
Is there overwhelming medical advice to social distance and to wear a mask when you can't? Yes there is.
Can you be a rational individual and wear a mask to potentially protect those around you, or at least make them feel comfortable being around you? sounds like maybe not so much...
Lex could have chosen to stick to facts and voice his opinion in a socially acceptable way. I presume he lives in a country where free speech is protected.
As soon as you sink to name calling and publicly voicing that anyone who might disagree with you must be wrong and stupid then there isn’t really any direction to take the conversation though. This also indicates a relatively closed off mind... (see how I didn’t call him stupid?)
I’d + this if I could ^^^
AnonOh he's just a Looney toon, he went off about eating meat supporting the "industrialized murder and torture of animals" or something. It's ironic, this type of person is more closed minded than the people they insult and argue against. He was going to be natty for a while so I thought he was a cool responsible sensible guy, then he got weird quick. I'd never torture an animal, but I will raise beef cattle then put a bolt though their head without a second thought...happy animals taste better!
AnonI don't make the rules and I definitely can't ban anyone, but please, do go on.
My aunt died from it.
Coworker was hospitalized and felt like death for a few days before things got better for them. It took 3 weeks to get a negative test result back.
A family friend needed hospitalization but had no insurance or money so they were turned away. Idk the whole story but if that’s true it’s really messed up. Luckily they lived
My ex had it: lasted her about two weeks. She had low grade fever non stop. Difficulty breathing at times. And night sweats
My cousin got it and he said it confined him to the bed.
Brother had it: got very sick
Sister-in-law had it: nearly hospitalized.
Nephew had it: like a mild cold
Wife just got over it: flu like
I, not social distancing from my wife and sleeping with her: never got it; or am Asymptomatic.
I had it and it was bad but not much different from flu except the loss of smell and taste . I had fever around 103 for 5 or 7 days .The big problem for me was pneumonia after the initial illness was pretty much done. I treated it with two different antibiotics, an antifungal, a couple different inhalers and breathing treatments, and 60 mg of prednisone a day.
Now my wife had the exact same thing was sick for two days and by day three was fine, and flew to Grand Cayman for a week and everything was perfect not sick a bit!
Sounds a lot worse than when I’ve gotten the flu, what happened in your case that is.
Not for me . I have asthma so the flu can really f with me ! The initial virus is not the problem its the immune response that affects my lungs to a point that A few times it has been a dangerous situation. That also seems to be the biggest problem with Covid but also blood clotting in those with bad atherosclerosis, leading to organ failure .
How hard was breathing with asthma? I have it too and have gotten the epipen a handful of times when I was younger. Usually only gets bad when I’m sick or have an infection. Did it hit you like a brick like an asthma attack at any point or was it more of a slow onset?
