+ 1 How much test is too much test?

So my question is how much test is too much test in your guys opinion. I understand that this is going to be mainly determined by the goal of a cycle but I mean it in a sense of a cycle where test is important, like on a heavy bulk. The reason I have asked this is because Dave Palumbo, Seth Feroce, and Nick Trigili all have stated in different videos that the highest any of them would do is 1,000mg of test a week, with Nick being the only to say higher at 1,200mg. They all stated that anything beyond that was just causing sides to go higher. Personally I view these as overkill unless you're absolutely massive, like someone who is 260+lbs in the off-season. Would love to hear your guys take on this.

I always felt sweet spot was 750mg, over that and the sides out weighed the gains for me. That’s really the highest I’ll go nowadays and just add deca, npp and/or dbol. Highest I’ve done is 1500mg and I got pretty bad gyno

1500 is way too much considering the aormatization and other side effects. i think 500 to 750 is perfect for most. For me 750 works great.

I can’t and won’t speak for all but personally 500/600mg per week should be the max. Add other compounds if you want bigger gains. 200-300 mg per week is plenty if you’re on other stuff. Test on it’s own shouldn’t be run very high or when stacked with the likes of tren and other anabolics. Use test as the base then add in other compounds.

Pros/ifbb etc is another league and do not fit into the equation.

I am not an expert but have read extensively. currently on my first test e 500mg cycle.

I'm currently only doing a measly 200mg a week of pharma grade Test w/ an oral. I'm 225 pounds; no sides & feeling good. I'm trying to do the least mg w/ most effect &train twice as hard as I get into late 40's. Trial & error

Bud I completely believe it, I've spoken to a few people who aren't even Pro's who have run more Test than this a few times. Look at all these guy's who run 20iu's plus a day of HGH. I believe part of why Pro's are pro's is their ability to tolerate massive amounts of gear and still be able to train through it, where as the rest of us would feel like dying.

Test is the holy grail of this business... But more is not always better. But from the self experience and friends who run it for 25 years (bunch of them are IFBB Pro also). I can say that until 2.5g / week could be OK if you run it correctly. But if you are not a competitor, or not on very professional cycle with a loth of high dose GH shots and aromatise inhibitors designed correctly. The sweet point is between 500 - 750mg/week until ~100KG (~220LBS)
So if you ask me, anything more than a gram per week is too much for the one who is not an international level competitor...

I agree about the lying.
I really like palumbo but his doses were around the 4.5 gram mark per week of oils.
Thats not including oral, stims, taboos etc.
That comes from someone whos a world famous ex pro bb that everyone knows and still posts on youtube and comes from my side of the world.

I've heard many pro's in the 90's say 750-1000mg of Pharma grade was good. That's a pro! An experianced gym rat should take less in my opinion! 500mg to 750mg max is my old sweet spot. Plus.. You also have to factor in how you take it! If you take 3 amps of Sustanon 250 on separate days of the week may be better for some than blasting all 3 amps in one shot! Just saying!!!Nowadays I take less & train harder.

Seems to me much over 500-600 is the cap. More than that the sides start to show up quickly!

Obviously individual but for me I have experimented with up to 2 grams/week in my youth for SHIC’s (I’m not proud of it and wouldn’t recommend now with the benefit of hindsight but I was following a couple of guru’s pushing SHIC’s at the time and thought they were going to be my magic bullet!) and I felt awesome and gained very quickly but a lot was water/glycogen and fat as I was eating big to try and maximise the SHIC. In reality when it all came out in the wash I would probably have gained just as much actual pure muscle on 750mg and lower kcal amount.

I can run 1gram+ of test enathate a week. However I can maybe run a max of 700mg of test prop a week. I don’t even like to run that much of prop, honestly.

Yeah, I week occasionally push up to 750 mg of E, but I personally start seeing diminishing returns above 500 mg. Bloat, puffy nips, high BP...just not worth it

500-600mgs max when running test alone.....
200-300mgs when combined with another compound

400mg on a bulk and 200mg on a cut. There are way better drugs then test to pack on muscle without having to deal with estrogen issues.

I try different dosages from 500mg till 1500mg and if be honestly all what are more than 750mg I have more side effects and do not have more profit..
So for me 750mg and 1500mg gives same effect but on 1500mg i have much more side effects.
Last few years I do not use more than 500mg/week.

This is more complicated than a simple mg amount. Personally I look at this and have four variables to take into consideration.

  1. Size of the person (100lb to 300lb is a big difference)
  2. Goal of the cycle (cutting or bulking)
  3. How many previous cycles have been run
  4. Is this the only compound you’ll be on?

Number 4 is complicated. If testosterone was the only compound I was able to get..... I would probably run it higher to bulk. However there are so many other compounds that are more efficient in building muscle or cutting it doesn’t make sense to only use one. This is why of course we obviously stack different compounds in a cycle.

That being said I don’t personally see the need for anything over 150-400mg.

Dave Palumbo stating he's never run more than 1 gram a week?! That's a classic... It all depends on what level you want to get to in terms of doses as you'll always reach a point where you plateau, to either gain more strength or mass. One things for sure though you get much better results running lower test and stacking with another compound such as Deca rather than just running one big load of test by itself. I've tried it and wasn't that impressed at all.

I wouldn't go over 600mg/wk unless you're a competitive bodybuilder. The excess amount will only cause more bloat, and sides wit little benefits.

Test dosage or any other compound's dose for that matter is not one size fits all. Too many variables involved, genetics, diet, training, what other compounds are being ran with it, estrogen sensitivity etc...I can run up to 600 test with minimal ai where as another guy might have a terrible time controlling estrogen at the same dose. I have gone up to 1gram a week but haven't gone over that simply bc there is a point of diminishing returns where the sides begin to outweigh the benefits. But short answer to your question I generally stick with around 750 for my max test dosage.

I always take whatever Dave Palumbo says with a big grain of salt. When i started researching roids i stumbled upon an interview in which he said you might as well just use winstrol and anavar for a 1st cycle and you wouldn't supress natural production.
