For Red Cross donations, does anyone know the difference between power red donation and plasma donation ? Which one is better for thinning your blood to get the hemoglobin and hematocrit lower? I use to donate double red but I guess they changed the names .

They always want me to do the power red since I am usually so high but then you have to wait longer to donate again. I would just recommend sticking with the regular donation when managing rbc/hemo while cycling.
Speaking of blood donations...I have to admit I felt guilty after my last donation. What are their testing practices for testing your blood? I’d hate to think the hormones in my blood fucked some old lady up or something else in my blood did. I didn’t really think about it until I left last time.
Some poor little girl is now walking around swole as fuck with a beard getting aggressive towards her Sunday school teacher because of your thoughtless donation.
well I donated double red cells about a week ago, I usually do a normal donation but what the hell I thought.
anyways when we were about done and the machine was putting the plasma and platelets back in my body the needle fell out of the vain and all of the plasma was injected into my bicep, long story short I missed a week in the gym because of it.
so its up to you but I will not be doing double red again.
I just give whole blood. I do the rapid pass and am in and out in 1/2 an hour. The more complicated double cell donations can take hours and you cannot donate again as fast.
I remember when I would give plasma they would pay me for it. Also when you give plasma they are giving you your blood right back to you. It’s better to give whole blood donation for what you are wanting
They want Plasma in a bad way, I get phone calls from central blood bank 3+ times a week asking me to give plasma, they want it so bad that they will bring someone in no matter what day or time.
