ad

So i bought some cheap body fat calipers on line. $2 total with shipping. It came with a chart. Was wondering if any one else here uses these kind of calipers to messure body fat and what they think of them.

I just tried to online Navy estimator for shits and giggles because I have seen a few other people reference it in other forums. I WISH that it was accurate!! My thick ass neck dove me down to single digits based on that calculation. When I subtracted 2" from my neck it seemed pretty close. I have a lean face and close to zero fat on my neck, it is just thick. I struggle to find fitted dress shirts that fit my upper body and still allow me to button the top button lol. I like to button it before I tie a neck tie then slip the button out behind the knot.

Haha yeah no kidding man

Did you just go on a rant about how its hard for you to go clothes shopping?

Yeah, I did. I blew the button off the neck of one of my favorite button downs about 45 minutes prior and was still pretty butt hurt about it.

That is genius! I am definitely going to start doing that. I would never consider buttoning that button without a tie so that won't be an issue lol.

Thanks bro

There was an electronic one at the gym I usto use and it was a higher end version and it wasn’t very accurate. This was 8 years ago but I trust the old school pinch and chart ones more. I’m sure the technology has came along way but it’s hard for me to trust them now I haven’t used an electronic one in a long time so they may be better now. As eagles said having someone do the measurements for me was a big help.

This is good to know! I was also thinking of buying some, but had no idea if the cheap ones would do the trick. Thanks... You guys saved me some money!

Yep old fashioned but I use them to gauge conditioning. I triple pinch 3 consistent places. Personally I trust this more than anything electronic.

I got one cheap pair that came with a chart as a "free gift" from the online store that I purchase my protein and other supplements from. Personally I did not think that they provided me with accurate measurements, mainly because I was doing them myself and some spots are difficult to get good readings on. It can be done, but I think that you will be much better off having someone else take the measurements for you.

I have the plastic calipers that came with a chart for men and women. I can't remember how much they were though. They provide a close BF% measurement for my needs. They say Accu-Measure on them.

I use the less cheap electronic display ones because it's hard to correctly handle and read the manual ones without help
