Vaping negative effects on cardio
Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this:
I recently started vaping (with nicotine solution) as I was eating sugar free polos to curb my food cravings but I ended up over doing it and had the squits really badly.
So I started vaping as I thought this would serve the original purpose (I used to smoke but I can’t bear then now so saw this as a relatively harmless appetite suppressant).
I only started a week ago but have noticed that my jogging and weightlifting are badly effected by it in that I can’t workout for as long as I did before vaping and feel less motivated.
Maybe its because of the nicotine? I heard it’s a vasoconstrictor so that makes sense, or maybe its the fact that I’m introducing a foreign body to my lungs on a regular basis?

If ur using vaping to quit smoking have at it. But it’s not the right means of delivery for appetite surpression or stimulation. Read this.

In terms of vaping, make sure ur juice doesn’t have “natural or artificial flavors” which could be a disguise for diacetyl. This turns into formaldehyde. In small amounts this is nothing but in combination with trace metals and the breakdown of harmless ingredients into toxins via high heat may cause lung irritation. If ur using foil like u say that can cause Alzheimers from the metals getting into ur brain. There was a Harvard study on vaping that concluded there needs to be more long term research. Here’s a link to a different article.

It’s aimed at teens but u get the idea. Personally vaping hurts my lungs more than cigarettes. Chew the gum during ur cut and drop it after that
YouShouldGetWha...Thanks Bravo,
Also did you know that there are two main types of fluid used: PG and VG? Propylene Glycol and Vegetable Glycerin. I don’t like the sound of ‘glycerin’ foing into my lungs, but PROPYLENE?
No thanks. I’m using VG but will be quitting soon thanks to the negative effects its had on me. I quit actual smoking 10 years ago and haven’t smoked one tab since so I should be able to do it with ease after only vaping for such a short time.
Thanks for your input, I’d thumb you up but I don’t seem to be able at the moment (if anyone could tell me why I’d appreciate it).
Cheers
As far as I’ve read both break down under the high heat into toxins. It sounds like ur vaping for dieting purposes. I’d try the gum during a cut but for a short time and low mg. By the way, u forgot the “no homo” after thumbing me up lol
YouShouldGetWha...Hey, I’m a noobie, cut me some slack bro! Ha
Ever think about replacing the Vape with nicotine gum or a patch? You can still get the nicotine in but avoid inhaling the Vape in your lungs. I Vaped to break a 15 year chewing tobacco habit and it negatively impacted my breathing/cardio for a few weeks but then it got better... Which was really just my lungs getting used to me shitting on them.
Vaping is 10X better than smoking, but worse than not inhaling anything. If it keeps you from actually smoking cigarettes I say stick with it. Otherwise I would suggest giving nicotine gum a try.
The gum quazi worked for me as I would stop dipping when I used it. However, I had to switch to the Vape to quit all together. I struggled to ever come off of the gum because it was so similar to chewing that I never actually broke the habit.
X2 I’m addicted to the gum. It’s not damaging to your teeth or gums but here I am walking around with a bag of food killing it in the gym and my teeth are yellow from nicorette gum... it just don’t add up.
No kidding man. The gum never discolored my teeth, but that is only because of the discoloration from 15 years of chewing tobacco. I ended up having lazer teeth whitening because after 1.5 decades of chewing, there was no getting rid of those stains 100% naturally.
YouShouldGetWha...Funnily enough it was the gum that got me off smoking 10 years ago. It went gum with a can of diet coke, then normal gum with coke, then just coke, the. i was free.
I tried the patches but I must have sensitive skin because I was scratching the things off within seconds, they stung like mad!
Cheers for the input.
Interesting. I used the patches to stop smoking 18 years ago and they did itch like a moon. I never started smoking again, but I did start dipping/chewing about three years later. I used the gum to break the habit of having actual tobacco in my mouth, then the vape to break the habit of having a nicotine containing substance in my mouth. I just gradually lowered the amount of nicotine in the vape until I was down to nicotine free juice and came off from there
YouShouldGetWha...But did you find that you were vaping all day long?
It's driving me nuts.
I think it's because with smoking tobacco there are so many toxins you feel sick if you smoke too many, but the only real toxin (if you can call it that) is nicotine in a vape. I did however feel a bit nauseous vaping at one point yesterday after a few good tokes but they may also have been due to the fact that I was on a train home (motion sickness maybe).
I'm quitting Monday, can't be arsed with it anymore. It's only been about a week or two of heavy use so should be ok, just a little concerned that I'll turn to food as an alternative which isn't ideal as I'm cutting atm.
X2 on the patches.
The patch helped me to quit chewing tobacco!
They do help curb the urge
This is your lungs beginning to heal. I'm a nurse. It's not vape. It's your lungs clearing the shit you put them through. As long as you do not smoke cigarettes they will continue to heal and your shortness of breath will decrease with time and training....even vaping. So don't quit vaping and start smoking thinking that's a better idea
If your sure it's the vaping then cut it out.
To throw a stick in the spokes I'll say this.
I vape.
I used it to get off 3 boxes of Copenhagen a day.
Worked great wasn't working out at all at the time vaped for a year or so then started hitting the gym. Cardio was in the toilet.couldnt run a 10th of a mile with out dying. 2 years I worked out and vape. Cardio improved when I kept doing more and more my endurance got up pretty good. Even while vaping. I weinned my self off the nicotine a little at a time and quit. After I quit i couldn't breath for shit, couldn't run a mile and didn't even want to. I i was quit for 8 months and got pissed off about something and picked it back up. Maybe in my head but I don't have any trouble breathing and I'm running a mile in 9 minutes. So there is your stick in the spokes.
I'd say if it's bothering you like others said find a different way to curb your appetite.
I
YouShouldGetWha...Thanks, can you suggest another appetite suppresant?
Something not too hardcore like ephedrine lol.
You’re still superheating a largely unrelated liquid and inhaling it into your lungs. Then there’s the burning cotton or whatever they use to hold the juice and the degrading metal coil you’re inhaling particles of every time you do it. Find another way to keep your appetite down.
YouShouldGetWha...No cotton in my vape, just foil (you’re thinking of a more fancy vape I think), but I agree on your other point. I also think the nicotine is a major factor for the reason I gave.
Thanks.
Vaping is going to turn out just like cigarettes...it was cool this and that(way back) then they realized all the chemicals and nicotine was harmful causing cancer, strokes, heart attacks and death, etc. you want to be healthy by lifting/cardio, yet you’re vaping and just hoping the long term effects(which there is nothing yet) don’t kill you. Good luck
YouShouldGetWha...I can’t thumb up for some reason (noobie thing?) but I would have.
The thought was there.
Ha! I have to agree, but pretty much all the shit we do to our body probably is the best thing to be doing
True, but what we do doesn’t give us a 50% chance of dying from it, horrible odds haha
Try it without the nicotine then.
YouShouldGetWha...No appetite suppressant qualities in that imunfortunately, thanks though.
I wouldn't think it's the nicotine but more like the moisture in the huge amount of smoke that gets into your lungs than anything else. I can't say for certainty but in my opinion vaping is just as bad as smoking, cardio wise.
YouShouldGetWha...From personal experience I’d say smoking is far, far worse considering the staggering array of toxic chemicals including cyanide, but thanks for contributing.
