Taurine which brand?

So I basically believe that the whole supplement industry is a billion dollar a year scam. There are good supps out there I just don't believe that there good enough for the amount of money the companies charge.
Im in need of taurine though I just can't deal with the pain from the var im taking. I will add im only taking 20mg a day. I would like to take 40mg but I get muscle pain and cramps that are horrible. I love var just not this side effect. I also wanted to add my water intake can't get any higher or I will drown. So I've decided to try taurine. My problem is being that I don't buy any supps I don't know which company to go with. I see most dosed at 1000mg but I also see the bags of so called pure powder.
What's your guys reccomendation?
I really appreciate it fellas

Here is a little tip for you... straight from the vaults of a serial offender when it comes to electrolytes.... Coconut milk!

You are currently drinking so much water that you are flushing away all of your electrolytes, flooding your body/cells with water and causing an imbalance in electrolyte levels. The water retention and electrolyte imbalance causes cramps/vicious pumps. People think Taurine is the solution, but it isnt quite the solution per se, more something to treat a symptom. The solution is to fix electrolyte levels and the best natural way to cover a lot of the electrolytres is to drink cocnut milk which is loaded with them. Others recommend banabas etc. but this only hits 1 electrolyte really.

Fix: manage water retention (usually caused by elevated estrogen), and manage all/most of your electrolytes.

Route 1/Tip: Buy 1 litre of 100% (no additives/extra ingredients) Coconut Water, drink 200mls, split into 100 preworkout and 100 post work out, on say weekdays/workout days where you sweat the most
Also, get bloods to see on-cycle estro levels. High estro (elevated so forget ranges for a moment, elevated even within range but at the upper end) can be dialed down with an ai to minimise water retention sides. 1 litre covers 5 days or so, enough for the week really if having rest days/non-heavy sweat days)

Route 2. Supplement with Taurine AND electrolyte supplements - keep feeding that supplement industry. Taurine alone will not fix anything when electrolyte levels are low/diluted.

I basically believe that the whole supplement industry is a billion dollar a year scam
True dat - +1
Buy the cocnut milk, fcuk the supplements industry, thieves. Try this, you wont regret it!!!

So I got the coconut milk and coconut water I was a little confused on which one you were saying would help.
So just 200mls that seems like a small amount. Thats all it takes?
Thanks in advance

I always use the water, but if you already salt your foods the milk should be fine. Check the electrolyte levels and go with the highest overall. is the best bet.

Drink as much as you like I'd say. I tend to do 200-300 ish (I gulp it down but its in that region) before and after sweaty workouts / when drinking a lot of water or retaining water. That works for me.
If totally depleted of elec's you could front load, but I think a better way is to replenish throughout the day/evening. If you can get it cheap enough, Id drink as much as is needed and ease off when you feel a bit better.

Dont forget to manage estro/water retention too though!!!

Im have the water and milk so I will try both I got the organic with no sweetener added so I think I bought the right stuff its pricey but not that bad especially if it helps. I believe that its 500ml so im going to do half today half tomorrow then adjust higher or lower.
I really appreciate the information I wish I didn't buy the taurine first but hopefully I can return it i really hate supps.
I will let you know how it works
Thanks brother

Hopefully it works for you now, best of luck with it

Coconut milk honestly I know nothing about it but I will now look into it.
I supplement my electrolytes with mio additive to all my water it helps to have some flavor and like you said with all the water if nothing added you get what I call water poisoning. Which is just like you said having everything flushed out by heavy water intake.
Estrogen I in the past would run my estrogen higher lately I've been trying to keep it still elevated but dialed in at the lower end. I have found this to be much more comfortable while on cycle. I used to think that you needed to run estro high to get more gains I've found this to not be 100% true. I still believe that high estro aids in growth but I can keep it lower and im still getting solid gains.
Im going to buy some coconut milk this weekend while shopping right now I will try anything and if its not a supp im all for it.
Thanks brother

let me know how you get on/if it works! Best of luck man

So I drank a bottle yesterday and yes I felt definitely more hydrated. Im going to continue using I've also started using vita c in higher doses.
I did this morning see that coconut raises cholesterol but could be some media bs.
I appreciate you reccomending this also it tastes really good.

giardap's picture

that's brill

watch it doesnt give you the shits in excess, lots of fat in it too

amazing for the electros though, so hopefully with estro idalled in lowish and electro you will be set!

Gettingbig's picture

Much appreciated i will keep in touch and let you know

Have you looked into Prosource.net? they have a store brand thats always cheap and everything is standardized to high levels where it matters like tribulus and green tea.

i use their stuff pretty often and have never been disappointed with it

Gettingbig's picture

I appreciate the reference I will check out there site. I actually went with some twin labs taurine 1000mg. I hope that they help

Gettingbig's picture

I will look for it because there are just so many brands. I will give this one a shot

TheFlash85's picture

I thought it was because of the big crack down on protein spiking/ testing.

Apparently adding extra taurine to powders made for higher protein per gram.

Could be wrong.
Peace.

TheFlash85's picture

Cheers for links good reads.

Makes me fucking furious!

Ive actually been using powder last 6 months after training and before bed, its costs me $55 for a 2kg tub called eternal mass.

Just double checked ingredients and what do y know extra of the ones mentioned in article.

50 grams protein per serve supposedly but really it probably less than half!

Cunts!

On a side note ive been using peptipro ( beef collagen/ gelatin) 96 grams pure protein per 100grams. I chuck the 96ish grams into my preworkout drink as its flavourless, i swear its good and i never see anyone even mention it.

What do u think of it ( peptipro) beef collagen/ gelatin.

Gettingbig's picture

Thats interesting I haven't heard that before but something Definitely happened

TheFlash85's picture

Yea thats what i meant when saying " pharmacy" meaning from a chemist as a " amino" not a body building brand "scam"

As for the bromelain did you research? Its an " enzyme found in pineapple but you can buy as a powder or supp.

Viking uses for bloating/ water with high dose vitamin c.
Ive even seen others vets such as kodiakgrrl advocate it.

Gettingbig's picture

I remember your story about going to buy taurine and they had pulled it from the stores. I think its ridiculous. I mean im not sure but I don't think anyone is getting high and od on the stuff.
I appreciate the help im definitely giving taurine a try.

Gettingbig's picture

I just ordered 2 bottles of twin lab 1000mg hopefully it solves the issue

Gettingbig's picture

After ephedrine they all went to shit
Haha lol

TheFlash85's picture

Just drop the var if that bad.

Any pharmacy taurine is gonna be better than " body building" tub.

Add magnesium with it and high dose vitamin c with bromelain for any water issues.

Gettingbig's picture

I know i should drop the var but its one of my favorite compounds. I really enjoy using it. I just want to get rid of the painful pumps.
I guess im hard headed lol

When you say pharmacy do they have taurine available in Pharma grade? I will just order it from the pharmacy if that's a possibility.

I do use vitamin c but I don't know bromelain I will look into it. I believe that magnesium is in the tab i take i will look into that also.

Thanks flash

Makwa's picture

I would get whatever is on sale. I just use the straight up powder and mix it into my preWO drink. Make sure you don't get any of this proprietory blend crap. Can't say that taurine has ever really done much for me though. Think I might be a non-responder. lol

Gettingbig's picture

That sucks I hope that I don't have that problem i already think supps are a scam if the taurine doesn't work im going to be upset.
Do you have anything else you do since the taurine isn't helping?
Flash suggested some magnesium and vita c also another one I have to research I haven't ever heard of it.

Gettingbig's picture

Thats what flash was saying earlier
Which do you use?

Gettingbig's picture

I take vita c but not at that level i might have to take it up a notch.
Thanks brother

Shout out to viking where has he been

Makwa's picture

Nothing seems to help. My only option is to not do certain exercises. Deadlifts are a no go for example. Back gets so tight I can't even walk. Have to do most of my deadlifting off cycle.

Gettingbig's picture

My back is my main problem also. Im still able to lift but not at all comfortable
