Need the medical guys

ad

So I've been having some pain in my shoulder. Not in the movement but a certain tendon. I was researching this morning and discovered its the tendon that connects my right bicep to the top of my shoulder.
I ruptured my right bicep awhile back now on the lower half. Im thinking that the pain could be related to the stretching of my bicep to reconnect it during the first surgery.
I will be honest its not a debilitating pain but I can definitely feel it so do I pull back or just deal with a little bit of uncomfortable pain after my arm day.

What do you fellas think about this any one else experience something like this after a surgery.

Ps -i remember you were hooked on pain meds, sure it was you.

I had bad injuries and i take pain killers still.
Im not addicted or hooked but i guess i do abuse them.

I do notice that if i take say two weeks off without any pain relief i get weird niggly pains around the place ranging in severity.

But its likley something nasty youve done from past shining through now your clean.

Go get checked bro.

Gettingbig's picture

Yeah I was hooked on opioids awhile back though I've been clean for almost 8yrs oct 14 willbe 8yrs.
I still believe its from the surgery will see though. It sucks not being able to take pain meds I take plunty of ibuprofen it works best for me

I did take pain meds after surgery but I don't consider it a relapse they were doc prescribed and taken as labeled

So it only hurts during benching? How about during OHP? Could be simple shoulder bursitis?

Gettingbig's picture

Its not during bench press its after i get pain once my workout is finished and when I lie down it hurts also like mak was saying when I try to pour out of a gallon container. Its weird its only certain movements and positions im in when it hurts. I really believe it has been from the growth of my bicep after the ruptured bicep surgery. Im no doctor though I've got an appointment soon hopefully I can find out more.
I assume ohp is over head press this actually doesn't effect it. The twist of my arm and raising my shoulder at certain angles does though.
Shoulder bursistis im going to look that up now.
Thanks brother

Edit looked up barsitis seems to be a fluid that effects the cushion in your joints.
Definitely could be this but because of the exact spot of pain I get I believe its the tendon but definitely could be barsitis.

You need to hit up one of my main man -medx-

I know i got mak and dacky but I thought with medical in the title he would have jumped right in im going to have to send him a pm.
I go to the doctor in 2wks but that will lead to nothing except more doctor appointments. Hopefully its an easy fix like mak was talking about.
If its surgery it will crush me im literally just back from the ruptured bicep.

Unlikely to be caused by the stretching of the bicep but rather restrictions in its functioning, probably adhesions that end up pulling on the tendon connection and causing tendonitus
almost all tendonitus is caused by this sort of thing
The fact you damaged the bicep previously would give a stronger pointer towards muscular adhesions causing pulling on the tendon.

ART and VOODOO Floss may help you significantly, however given the previous damage you should see a specialist.

Personally, I'd go to an ART person first, relatively cheap, relatively fast to fix, definitely worth one session to evaluate

Dude, I reckon you've got the patent and shares in voodoo floss!!

giardap's picture

I fkn wish I did!
Miracle cure for what ails ya brother!!!

giardap's picture

.

Gettingbig's picture

Whats art? And voodoo floss

giardap's picture

In combination, they are.... the red pill !

Do a little research, check them out, as they apply to tendonitus

You will be pleasantly surprised, down the line...

Gettingbig's picture

I will Google it later on. You have caught my interest

giardap's picture

Let me know how you get on
There are some useful voodoo floss mobility, and ART self vids on youtube that will add value

Get a MRI done to tell for sure. I had exactly this pain twice. The first time the issue was exactly as Mak described it. They tried to inject it twice but it didn't work and so eventually I had to have a subacramial decompression surgery which solve the problem after about 6 months of rehab. About 6 years later I started to get the same pain again so thought I had the same issue. This time it the MRI showed a different tendon has become inflamed....probably due to going too heavy on bench. The cortisone injection, GH and IGF-1 LR3 and I have never had any further issues.

probably due to going too heavy on bench.

I agree...only time mine bothers me...

Gettingbig's picture

Dacky brother how are you?

I figured that my doc will write me a script for a mri but damn things are so expensive.
Im hoping that he tells me its just the first issue with some tendonitis. If not its going to hurt my pocket having to get a mri but if its something that needs surgery its going to really suck.

Bicep tendonitis. I had a problem with that tendon. Certain movements were fine and others like pouring a jug of milk my arm would give out. That tendon runs through a little hole in your shoulder bone (excuse my medical terminology) so once it becomes inflamed it basically will always stay irritated because it will keep rubbing on the bone through that little hole. It never gets a chance to rest because every movement will keep it irratated because it doesn't slide through the hole easily now. Bothered me for months and was affecting my workouts tremendously. Went in to the doc and she put me on prednisone for a week and it was completely healed and I could resume my normal workouts. The prednisone kept the inflammation down so it could get a chance to heal and not be constantly inflamed by rubbing through the bone.

Gettingbig's picture

Thank God for you mak that is exactly what you said about the milk jug I get the worst pain from it.
So just some prednisone cleared it up. Im definitely going to bring it up to my doctor in a couple weeks at my appointment

I know your running decca now. I'm curios has it alleviated any of the pain? Was it worse before you started cycle? Perhaps certain peptides.

Gettingbig's picture

Actually the decca has had no effect on this pain it has been happening for awhile I thought I might have just pulled or irritated something but this morning I looked at a body chart of the shoulder and realized it was the tendon that holds the bicep to the shoulder. Its not that bad only hurts day after arms. I will eventually talk with my doctor im curious if anyone else has something like this that they just have to deal with now after a inj or surgery.
I have thought about hgh so much but I don't think it will help i might be wrong.

MedDx's picture

Prednisone is cheaper. MSM, Chondroitin, Glucosamine...plus, TENS unit modality....decrease weight of lift, or get a spotter if you have to go heavy heavy...topical dmso might help some...

Gettingbig's picture

After my bicep ruptured when I was able to lift again I go lighter weight with higher reps. The only difference is my lifts don't go up in weight as fast. I still feel like im getting the same gains i would I also believe that im a little tighter then when lifting heavy. I just can't lift heavy anymore.
No more 300+ bench lifts. I start at 215 and go up to 235lb at the moment. That starts to hurt on my 4th set

MedDx's picture

I feel ya bro..same here...lately I've been on 135/205/255 program BP, DL, SQT with reps starting at 25/12/10. I still rep the bar for warm ups and on a light day, I'll do 95/115/165/215 with stiff leg dead lifts working on legs as well as bent over rows for back. If I go heavier it's usually dead lift and sqts only....say like 275/325/395...I don't do the heavy weight no more than 3-5 reps maybe 3 times out of a year...

Gettingbig's picture

Thats when I really decided I wasn't going to lift heavy anymore. I was with a couple of buddies working out together. Of course we start going back and forth to see who the strongest is. I thought I ruptured my bicep again I felt it stretch and actually heard a pop. I turned out to actually be fine but it scared me to death. I believe that it was only just over 300+ we were just knocking out 2-3 reps messing around.
After that I will keep getting stronger and moving weight up slowly but no trying to lift like a monstar for me anymore

I wanted to add that warming up on my push up bars has been a great addition

MedDx's picture

Warming up is key...I feel it if I dont...
