Protein shakes or food intake

ad

OK guys I was reading some post in a source discussion page and got kinda interested in this ...the conversation was these days for most people rely on protein shakes (and what amount of protein do u actually need and do u even notice a difference if u don't get the recommended dose ) as to just getting what u thing is enough protein from just your food sources ...I'd like to hear different opinions on everyone's personal journey with this topic and if u don't think this is a good topic please no judgment just scroll on this is for me just to get a better understanding from people's actual experiences. .thank you.

Reality is this, if your married with kids, there really isn't time to eat real meals 6x a day. My breakfast is 40g iso whey. I just don't have the time to cook a breakfast. I could sacrifice sleep, but that's when I grow. I take 3 shakes a day, I think it's crucial. That's just my .02.

I love 1 scoop of protein mixed in with my oatmeal, along with peanutbutter and honey.
Also. 2 scoops after workout along with 17 gummy bears
My life, my family , my job keep me real busy
But i also get about 130 grams protein from food in the same day

Food will ALWAYS be your best option, protein powder is just to supplement when needed.

I've over did my protein powder, 4-6 scoops everyday for a week or two, waste of money.

Protein from food is the way to go, Iso protein post workout is all you need man (even this isn't really a necessity just convenient af)

Good post though, can't see anyone saying powder is Better lol

You are getting micronutrients and trace elements in "real" food that you don't get with protein powder. I think this is one of the keys to why "whole" foods are better than just your powdered protein. Shakes have there place but your shake shouldn't just consist of a scoop of protein in some water. Add in your fruit, milk, peanut butter, greek yogurt, super foods or whatever into that to make it a real shake worthy of consumption. Protein powder and water, I would never be able to choke that down.
