Adrenal Pumping Insanity Metal for the Gym

ad

I am always looking for music that drives me to a murderous edge. Any insanity to bring the beast from the depths, so I can give those crucial extra reps when it really matters. Here are a few of my favorites:

Marduk - To Redirect Perdition and Souls for Belial

Kataklysm - Push the Venom

Krisiun - Blood of Lions

Fear Factory - Soul Hacker

The Coven - Iron Dick

Overkill - Elimination

What are your favorite tracks?

Yes sir they're badass. When I say I listen to metal I mean HEAVY metal! The more brutal the better. Hatebreeds perseverance is an awesome pick and though I'm not into the industrial stuff too much ramstein does get your adrenaline going In the gym. Fear factory is about the closest to industrial I like

Nice to see people listening to some good metal. Definitely difficult to list just one or three bands as there are so many genres in metal. I guess i'll break it down in a few categories depending on my mood. I'll list albums from bands I feel I listen to most, doesn't mean I don't listen to any of their other albums:

Death Metal:
Death - Human Album.
Sepultura - Chaos A.D Album.
Cryptopsy - None So Vile Album

Grind Core:
Pig Destroyer - Prowler In the Yard Album
Napalm Death - Harmony Corruption Album
Terrorizer - World Downfall Album

Thrash Metal:
Slayer - First Four Albums
Metallica - First Four Albums
Bolt Thrower - War Master Album

Heavy Metal, The OGs that paved the way:
Led Zeppelin - Mostly All
Black Sabbath - Mostly All
Iron Maiden - Mostly All their 80s albums

VITAL REMAINS - DECHRSTIANIZE is one of the sickest songs you can listen too! definitely pumps me up and gets you going! The guitar sweeping in the solo is just sick, the riffs. Gotta take a listen and add it to your play list

Honorable Mentions:
Testament, Obituary, Cannibal Corpse, Entombed, Kataklysm, Morbid Angel, At the gates, Autopsy, Pungent Stench, Carcass, Decapitated, Lamb of God, HellHammer... The list goes on and on and on

Never was a fan of Black Metal.

Sepultura can be accounted for in multiple categories. Just like how death can be. You can put early sepultura in thrash, just like you can put deaths later endeavours towards progressive. As well as early behemoth being strictly black metal and later behemoth being black/death.

Hell, early seputura paved the way for Korn becoming the grandfather of it's genre. I mean you shouldn't frown upon and be negative. Not what the metal brotherhood is about man. It's attitude as such as yours that give certain fans in the genre a bad name. Another thing, i hope you're not one of those people who "hardcore" inside a mosh pit, Just saying.

To each their own. I like sepultura more over than soulfly. I like death moreover than control denied. And others will think vice versa. It's an opinion not fact. Some will say deicide and vital Remains are the best death medal bands ever and I would respectfully disagree.

I listed bands I listen to in its respective category, granted they could have also been listed in other categories. It's not music 101 here. No need to be exact.

DragonDog's picture

Damn good list. I will be sure to check out the Vital Remains. I was not a Black Metal fan until recently. I saw Marduk live at a festival and I was converted.

Weezel's picture

Vital Remains - Dechristianize the actual song which I'm talking about. not the album. I think you'll enjoy it.

I have love for the guitar and all genres whether its, Industrial, Black, Grunge, Death, etc... They all have good riffs. I'm just not a Huge fan of the whole melodic scene which I feel is a bit abused and is incorporated a lot into black metal along side that high pitched, Vocal tightening sound they produce, as if they just got kicked in the nut sack...

There are some bands I can listen to, like Arch Enemy, they're a melodic black metal band and I very much enjoy Angela Gossow vocals. Maybe because shes a female, so her vocals are a bit different and they fit their Genre And then you have bands like how Sauron mentioned Behemoth. They're black/death metal, I can listen to that, but black metal like Dimmu Borgir is a HELL to the NO.

Hope that kind of clarified haha.

DragonDog's picture

I listened to Vital Remains today, and I get it. New Arch Enemy is sold out, but with Angela it ruled. I could never stand bands like Dimmu Borgir to me they are the same as Hammerfall, but I will take Dissection anyday.

333's picture

Oh man you don't like melodic metal have you listened to DARK TRANQUILITY they have been around as long as at the gates. Here's a link to a Russian metal band it will get heavy at like 45 seconds

Mercyful fate

DragonDog's picture

Mercyful Fate and King Diamond were my introduction to metal. I had pizza with Hank Sherman before a show. He is a really humble, nice guy.

333's picture

King diamond is the shit merciful fate as well

DragonDog's picture

No offense, but you all gotta spell it right, Mercyful Fate. They were best, years ahead.

Pale's picture

Its the spell checker that keeps correcting it

DragonDog's picture

Yep, damn Danes didn't have a spell checker.

Pale's picture

Right on, Melissa is one of the greatest metal albums ever. I also should add Slayer to my list. If I had to guess which metal I play the most I think they win. I have probably listened to Reign in Blood the album a thousand times, it never gets old.

DragonDog's picture

Brother, I have to agree. I really like In the Beginning, too. Fuck, all of their albums are gold. As for Slayer, it's South of Heaven. That one makes me insane.

Pale's picture

If you aren't familiar listen to the original Dissident Aggressor by Priest

Can't forget Priest. Saw them with Megadeth back in the early '90s.
