+ 1 Been out of the lifting/bodybuilding scene for a while, can anyone offer advice

ad

I have been out of the lifting/bodybuilding scene for a while. I have had many cycles in my mid 20's and early 30's but quit about 11 years ago with the birth of my son. I have maintained a lot of my strength however over the years have gotten to about 31% body fat currently 271. I am in my early 40's now still train Brazilian jujitsu & Judo 4-5x's a week and powerlift about 3x's weekly, many years of wrestling (college level) and Judo. Power-lifted for 10 years. I have been planning a cycle but been out of the game can someone please offer their input and help me out? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Whilst I no longer compete, I hold black belts in both judo and BJJ. If your rolling on the mats regularly 4/5 times per week plus lifting, your diet must be utterly appalling to be walking around at 30% BF. I'd suggest you fix that way before you consider running a cycle.

First thing you need to do is to drop that BF down to at least half of what it is now. Time in the gym and a structured diet will get you there. Peruse the Training/Nutrition forum and you should have everything laid out for you to achieve that.

Query Harris Benedict Equation and calculate your BMR with and without activity. For starters this will give you an idea what your total daily energy expenditure will be. In addition, getting some baseline bloodwork will help paint a colorful picture of what your body is doing on the inside. Also, you could post an unidentifiable pic, whuch will help us get an idea to help you further... thanks

You need to get your diet in check as well as a fitness routine.

That's way too many compounds

What?

Look, just send me a "friend request" bro and I'll talk to you over our private mail (PM) system. This can't be sorted out in a public forum IMHO. I wouldn't run this and I'm a nut case. LOL

In fact, don't be offended or surprised if a member of the mod team asks you to pull this down or just pulls it down. I don't know if they will, of course, but they might. I mean, there's only one thing in there actually (and you wouldn't know this yet) that we don't support in open discussion and that's the slin.

This website is all about education, but, quite frankly, I just don't see how dissecting this in this forum is gonna teach anybody anything useful. Nor is lambasting you and berating you over this useful either.

Also, I'm really not trying to hijack this thread either. The community will comment as they wish. I'm just offering you my time.

Of course it is bro. For certain it is. Smile Smile That said, the guy proposed a pro-bodybuilder cycle using compounds that almost no one on here would use. Stripping apart a pro cycle isn't gonna provide anybody with useful info. You want me to PM you one of my cycles? You tell me when you see it if there's anything to learn from it. IMHO, I just don't think much.

Priceless...good to see you Big Daddy... Smile

He had a cycle proposal up which is what I reacted to but it's been taken down now.

MedDx's picture

Yea...I figured it was an advanced cycle based off the responses...OP has some goals to achieve and he sounds teachable...always good to help the receptive guys learn and maintain focus... Smile

When I react the way I did here by trying to take it off line, I always run the risk of seeming conceited or being a "know it all" but this is not a pro bodybuilding dedicated website and many of the compounds he was proposing using are not things 99% of this community would ever use. So, in my mind, picking apart his proposal in the forum just was not going to be helpful to folk here.

Knowledge, experience, wisdom and patience...you have all those characteristics, plus more, regarding AAS use...your interventions save time, stress, money, and most of all...someone's life, bro...BRO FIST... Smile

I agree those of us who know GH know the type of fella he is. Never one to get on any high horse and always wiling to share his great knowledge. I learn all the time from him and I'm sure most of the community do to. OP......I'm happy to help with diet etc. at this stage so shoot me a FR if you like.

10years without gear you definitely need to dial in your diet and get well below the 31%bf before you cycle and even then I would start with just test. No real need to add a bunch of other crap diet get down to at least 15% before you cycle unless you have low test anyway and then your doc can advise you on what to. I don't see anyone giving cycle advise with your stats

Something was telling me to get on this morning...lol...I saw your smoke signals from the top of the mountain...lol.. Smile Good to see ya bro...

OP seems receptive...his goals will be challenging..we'll see if posting his diet and maybe an unidentifiable pic will help us work with him...

My apologize for not replying, attempted to reply last night...site was down. I am definitely teachable, been out of the game a while and not as young as I use to be.
