Smoking

ad

Hey guys I really want to quit smoking and think I'm ready for it. I smoke 3/4 pack a day for 12 years it really wears on me and I'm down to my last pack out of a carton. It would make me healthier and save like 250 bucks a month so anyone that has quit before please tell me any tricks you did to quit. Thanks Bros

I've stopped a couple of times but smoke now. The best way is to just stop, once you reach the first week without its all down hill from there.

I actually enjoy it, but don't smoke anything close to what are, 10-15 a day is plenty for me.

Good luck with it, it's easy after a week, just gotta dig your heels in and remain strong. Don't drink any booze during the process.

Have you considered the 5 year plan?

Chantix worked for me. The hardest part is keeping the mental craving down after the physical dependency goes away. Vapes IMO are a better option than cigarettes, but dont cure the nicotine addiction. Experiment because what works for one doesnt for another. Key is to keep trying. Good luck to you.

Vape, vape and motherfucking vape!

I recommend a Innokin Mod like the the 'cool fire 4 plus'. Get a citrus favoured 90VG 10PG % 3mg nicotine liquid. You'll never smoke again.

Good tip. I have many friends who have been able to stop smoking this way.

Vape. I'm at 0 nicotine after 3 years. I smoked from 13-37. I'm 40. I can run 5 miles and not feel like I'm dying.

Congratulations. What nic level did you start out at?

Thank you. 24mg, but switched to 18 after a few weeks. Then 12, 8, 6, 3, 1.5, and now 0 over 3 years. I've been at 0 for a couple months and don't miss the nicotine at all. The ecig is the only thing that helped me quit. I tried cold turkey, the patch, gum, and even brupropion.

I started at 16mg and worked my way down to 12, 6, 3, 1.5, and then 0. At zero I no longer had any urge to keep vaping and gave it up entirely about 3 weeks later.

The trick is to go down nic levels every few weeks, but keep a higher concentration on hand for those bad cravings. Congrats again brother.

I quit years ago before the vape became a big thing. Believe it or not I used chewing tobacco to curb my nicotine craving. If you're going to substitute one thing for another I wouldn't recommend it but I never really
Enjoyed chewing it made me sick to my stomach most of the time.. but it was enough to have one small dip a day when I was really craving a cigarette and I did that for month. I quit and then maybe a year later had a rare cigarette every once in a while but I just didn't enjoy it anymore. Haven't had one in well over a year now.

I second using a vape and going down in nicotine concentration each month. It's how I quit after 7 years.

Think about what your lungs look like and how tar-coated your cilia are...carbon monoxide that's produced by the cigarette smoke, after inhalation, that has continuously irritated the inside of your circulatory system causing nicks with years of fibrin overlay and vessel wall weakness. When you consider what the inside of your body looks like, quitting seems like the best alternative. In fact, after 72 hours of quitting, the ability to stop is psychological. The total length of time I smoked cigarettes was 5 years. After the 5 year mark, I used a device to vape, which irritated the posterior portion of my lungs, so I stopped vaping, after a month, or two. I like Cohiba cigars, and smoked some of those after my grandmother passed away, which lasted for about 6 months. My wife smokes, as well as our friends, and i have probably smoked 5-8 cigarettes since 2014. I got to the point where the cigarettes made me feel sick, so I just don't use them anymore, even if someone offers me one. If you're pushing heavy weight and working out, you will be surprised how much more strength you'll have and how better you feel, when you don't have nicotine in your body. You can do it, bro!

If will power does not work then I know first hand (friends and family) that have used bupropion/Wellbutrin to great effect here. It binds to the nicotine receptors so stops the physical aspect of any cravings.

I was never a heavy smoker, but smoked for many years and had the addiction, certain times of day, after a meal, heavily increased when drinking. For me, it was a cold turkey quit. I stopped and fought the urges. It got easier little by little until it wasn't a problem at all. Good luck, it's one of the healthiest choices and money saving choices you can make.

I switched to the ecig and then came off that. The ecig is a game changer. The best site at affordable costs is vaporword.biz. If you're interested in suggestions of products, feel free to PM me. Before I stopped the ecig, I preferred it over smoking without question.

I spelt it incorrectly above.

Will power. It's hard but don't give in. I vape from time to time. After the first week it's all mental. Do it and be done with it.
