Injection pain
ad
Ok so I'm wiring this while being in quite a bit of pain and wondering if anyone has any insight into what ur can be. I objected 0.5mls of test prop in my quad and woke up this morning and my whole knee, on same side as injection, was swollen and I can barely walk. I've used half the bottle and Haven't had this problem yet so it could be a question of where I injected. I actually think I may have missed the quad. My inj spot is about 3 inches above my left knee cap and over about two inches to the left. Does anyone know what I could have hit with the pin? There's a bruise going over my knee cap and it feels like it's filled with fluid. WTF?

Pain ????
Just did 1ml of Watson Test Cyp in my right quad, 8-10 inches above the knee cap, extreme outside of thigh.
I felt nothing,............. NOTHING !!!
You need to work on your technique.
unreal89This i go for middle of quad outter side slight pip maybe you need to be steady also
Oh, I forgot....one thing that you may do is go to Walgreens and pick up a rope and a big ass bag of cotton. Glue the cotton to the rope in a circular fashion, let it dry and then show that shit down your throat because you are really just a big pussy.
Hope that helps.
All my love,

Ed
rocketballzThank God someone did it. Thanks Ed, but I kinda think you might be full homo (no homo) =)
Well damn I guess I was right for once!
rocketballzYes sir you were!
I'm just shocked you managed to post about injection pain without at least being called a pussy ;)
Glad to hear you've had it drained and hopefully on the mend.
Ok. I just took care of it.
rocketballzWell Darth did suggest amputation...LOL. Hopefully my karma and contributions get me at least a little respect around here
thanks for stopping by Cat.
rocketballzThanks for the feedback guys. Doc pulled out the oil and blood that was sitting on top of my knee and gave me an antibiotic. It was a small puncture of a vein. Lesson learned
Did you tell him what you did
rocketballzI actually did. I went to the local emergi-med place and got honest. He Didn't seem particularly pleased but he knew what he was dealing with. I felt stupid but I think it was the right thing to do
I would say, 0.5 ml of Test Prop E/D is probably a more advanced cycle than your ready for. Prop is known for its PIP ( if it ain't got PIP,.........it ain't Prop ).
The reason longer ester's are recommended for first cycles is so you can develop your pinnig technique and SITE rotation.
rocketballzI'm tapering down from a long estered cycle and it's my 3rd cycle, but thanks
All joking aside ,you hit a very sensitive area ,which i myself dont go nowhere near ,
Im upper quad and outter ,i actually come in from the side ..
Also prop on a virgin quad can be hell , im sure with tome it will go away ..just watch for swelling warmness , ect. Good luck
hey man i injected one of my traps muscles and it has been swole for like 3 to 4 days its like i flexed my trap muscle but it never came down should i be concerned about it went to ER and got some pain and muscle relaxers it seem like u no what your talking about any idea what could be my issue and how long will this last
Im sorry i just seen your post , my friend ,ummm i would not hit my traps tho i know alot of people that do ...hopefully the swelling came downn and if not you did the right thing by getting it checked.out...
I've had this happen! A lot of people do not realize a lot of veins run through your quads you could have punctured a few! That's why I stay away from quads! Also if you missed it it's going to take longer for the oil to absorb and also it will look like fluid sitting around your knee cap... Just my opinion! Also that is way to damn low for injecting... You want to inject into the meaty part of your quad!
rocketballzYou are 100% correct and I usually inject much higher in the thigh. But I was in a rush and couldn't find a meaty place that didn't sting like a mofo so I went lower. I'll never do that again!!
My bet is abcess.
Get to a doc.
Just for fun, stick a sterile heavier gauge pin in the the most swollen part of the quad and draw.
That might give you a better idea as to weather or not you are dealing with an abcess.
rocketballzThe doctor did it for me. I swear it was an 18 gauge and it hurt. Lidocaine is bullshit lol
Dear Ed, I thoroughly enjoy your sarcasm with all my heart.
No homo
No sarcasm. Any time I think that I have an abcess, I pin and draw to check for a pocket of infection. If I get pus, I know I have an abcess.
Give it a try with a sterile syringe and thank me later. While you are drawing, it won't hurt to draw the full tube and remove some of that infection....I don't condone self draining but while you are there...you might as well fill the tube of your syringe with that initial draw...Then get in to a doc and let him remove the rest of it and put you on antibiotics.
If you pin and draw and no infection then you probably don't have to worry.
I've had a few abscesses in my day.
I also wouldn't condone self draining. The problem with pinning a potential infection I think is one risks the spread of the infection. If it's an antibiotic resistant bacteria one risks serious sepsis, which can be life threatening. Sure it's not likely, but I don't know if I'd push my luck. I suppose as long as you pin, attempt a drain like you're suggesting, and always go see the doc right after then it's going to be treated. But I'm trained to do I&D's and I have to tell you, pinpointing an intramuscular abscess if it's not superficial can be very difficult for someone who doesn't have an ultrasound or is using poor technique to begin with which is usually the cause of an abscess.
rocketballzBro my doctor ended up draining it today and it hurt 10x worse than the pip itself. I swear he used a 1 1/2 inch 18 gauge and went deep info the bruised area. It was extreme pain but no sign of infection, i.e. no puss and shit
rocketballzYou crazy man....but funny. If I tried to plunge a pin into the bruise that runs across the top of my kneecap it would hurt like crazy lol. I'm going to see the doc today. The reason I don't think it's an abscess is because it's not warm to the touch or red....which I did have about a year ago. Prop has given me a bruise before but only in a virgin muscle. This is a case of I missed my quad, I think, and hit something just below the quad but above the knee
Oh yes indeed.
Amputation is the only guarantee here bro.
rocketballzOkay okay everyone thanks for the input. I'm going to doctor today to have it drained and ED no way am I doing it myself lol
Ya. Definitely best way out.
Guys have you set below. That's not a good spot to be pinning brother without a serious amount of muscle mass there. More than likely nicked or irritated a nerve. Lateral femoral cutaneous probably. Could take a week or two to subside. Be on the look out for signs of infection.
rocketballzThanks switch...I don't really know the anatomy of the knee / quad area too well...and that's my bad. Ice and elevation seems to be working.
Never pinned my quad that low but just looking at the area you describe it doesn't seem like a great place to pin. I'll go halfway between my hip and knee, usually closer to the hip since there is plenty of muscle there. And I pin on the side of my quad, nowhere near the top. Never had any issues this way.
rocketballzYea that's my usual go-to spot but I've just made the decision to never pin quads again lol. That fuckin hurt!! Thx tren for the insight. It's much appreciated
No prob bud
Seems to me like guys either tolerate pinning quads or can't stand it lol. It's the first place I learned how to pin so I'm just used to it I guess.
Don't give up on the quad so easily man. Just do some research concerning the correct locations to pin on the quad and use a thinner needle (easily done with MCT oil heated up). Along with my delts it's probably one of my favorite areas to pin.
3 inches from your kneecap and 2 inches from the right there is very little if any muscle number one.
Number 2 that is also a terrible place to inject because the oil will disperse and travel a little so you injected way too close and it made its way down because you probably did not inject in the muscle at all.
rocketballzYea man I think ur right. I always go mid quad on the outside of the muscle but I think this was just a miss on my part. And yes ur it feels like the oil is dripping down my leg, on the inside.

Maybe his measurements are off. I think he meant closer to 5-6" from the kneecap, should've hit the lower part of the quad. But if he miscalculated, then you're probably right with why he's experiencing these effects. But I agree with you 100%, I hate pinning my lower quad. I prefer up higher where there is more meat.
I did it once......once. My kneecap swelled so bad I could hardly walk or bend my leg. I told my endo about it (my 4th time injecting) and he said to never inject there again because the muscle density near the knee is very sparse due to connecting to the joint and I aggravated the tendons where it connects. I injected about 4 inches from the knee and to the side of the muscle. I flexed my quad and saw muscle but never thought it would be a bad idea.
Ive had the same happen, but I was way too low when injecting in the area. Completely missed the muscle. I've been very careful about pinning lower parts of the quad since then, and user a shorter pin as well and it's helped me avoid that problem again. I usually only end up throwing in the lower quads to the circle if I'm jabbing often during the week, otherwise there's plenty of space on the upper areas to not fuck up.
rocketballzThank God I only used a 5/8 inch pin! Im very lean and haven't had any issues using a 5/8 inch pin in my delts and quads....except this time. I just missed the muscle
And if all else fails, there is the nice meaty part of the back of the leg too
rocketballzI hate quads too that's why I was poking poking around for a spot that didn't hurt. Thx bro, I think ur right. I'm icing it and keeping it elevated for now. We'll see how it shakes out
Nicked a vein or a nerve. Monitor it to make sure it doesnt turn into an abcess. If it does, head to the ER.
