+ 1 bodyfat before starting cycle- too fat for first cycle?

ad

I am planning on starting my first cycle and had some bodyfat questions in relation to AAS use. The advice that I have most often seen is that bodyfat should be below 15% before starting cycle. I know that there are reasons for this (aromitase etc.) and that this advice comes from a bodybuilding perspective. I was wondering if anyone can explain the impact of bodyfat while on cycle.

I am a powerlifter so the aesthetics of my physique are secondary to strength and endurance. I have seen many elite level powerlifters use with a bodyfat well over 20%. I was wondering if someone has experience with this and could explain the details of bodyfat before starting a cycle.

I put a picture up as well. I was wondering if my current bf is too high for a first cycle? I have stepped up my diet with clean eating and have added 4 days a week of cardio.

I am planning on a test only cycle of 300-400mg/wk (two injections of test E). I have arimidex, nolvadex, and HCG on hand. Clomid and Aromasin are one the way.

Any input is appreciated

Keep an eye on your BP as well.

Thanks grit, completely forgot about that. My BP has been a little high in the past but right now it is around 115/80 and has been good for the last couple of years. I hope it stays normal while on cycle.

X2, get a home monitor that's highly rated and a large enough cuff that won't give you false readings.

Thanks pasta. Great suggestion, will definitely pick one up. Probably good to monitor BP regularly anyway

Keep the readings consistent on a daily basis and you'll see how it affects you.

I've read through your posts and you've clearly got your head screwed on so. In a perfect world, you'd be 10-12% BF before starting, but that's far from ideal as a power lifter. I've gone from competing on stage to entering a strong man competition, from walking around at 8-10% to 15%.

From what I can see you've done your homework and you've built a solid base naturally, I say go for it. Best of luck.

Thanks catalyst. First pin is next week, just gotta get the AI dosages figured out.

I feel a better standard for powerlifting is if you have built a solid base/strength sure bf will impact the effect of your cycle but since it seems your sticking to a basic cycle I think it would be ok

Thanks. Right now I am stalled out around 1300lbs raw after adding about 20lbs of lean mass in two years. I'm hoping the cycle will help me increase training volume and intensity.

I commented on your photo thinking bodybuilding. I've cycled with 15+ BF. I felt more lethargic, I had BP spikes, and as you mentioned more E2 conversion. It's not easy to identify the onset of gynecomastia when you are carrying extra fat. Nothing worse than cutting down to visible lumps you couldn't feel or see previously.

Thanks PEZ. Did you have to adjust your AI dosages compared to other cycles? What did you use for AI?

Thanks brother. I'm looking forward to it
