+ 3 The art of squeezing.

ad

I'm by no means coming with something unheard of in the realm of bodybuilding, I m simply reinstating or reminding if you will myself first of the beauty of a good rep. It's quite normal to see ourselves moving weight from point a to b, and in our mind the more weight we manage to move, the more impressed/impressive we are. But I find myself sometimes in this odd mental place when I see how futile it all is. Then I take a good look around me, and realize that I'm in a land of zombies. Joe and jack and Justin and latisha are all doing the same. Iron is unbeatable, how much of it can we move from a to b and say I'm king.
Our muscles main raison d etre is to contract at some point then release. The more contraction the muscle is trained to exert the stronger it becomes. This is a whole principle that is totally overlooked in training with weights. Any rep that does not implement this major concept stays incomplete to a great degree, we cheat ourselves of the most beautiful feeling in a workout. You see people bouncing weight, overloading bars to impress, very very rarely you come across this one guy that holds his shit for a few seconds before he goes into a full negative motion. We all end up with a half ass work out, wondering why we don't get stronger as fast as we hope to.

I agree to a degree ;-)

Especially for beginners and intermediates this is a good method of picking the appropriate weight, learning the movement properly and building a connection of how mind muscle connection works.

Further I think you relate to TUT as well, right?
Makwa and I just recently had a detailed discussion about it. It's worth checking out I think

I didn't get this for awhile . I was so focused on the numbers. Now I can humbly push/pull lighter weight and feel even better afterwards.

Slow and control. Keep the muscle under the most stress for as long as possible= grow more. We all could make a fortune posting videos on youtube with the dumbasses bouncing and throwing weight around with no purpose......then here them talk "why am I not getting bigger or stronger". Lmao good reminder brother!

I like to go heavy at the begining and bring it back but form is everything and concentration. I am so focused in the gym im sweating my ass off in light wheights. Perfect motiins and good squeeze. I do like to show off to myself once in awhile though most definatly.

This is my regular gym to the T. 50 lb dumbbell curls that are actually working more of the back than the arm with the way these people throw their back. Poole always see my size and the first question is. Oh my god dude. How much can you bench. My answer amazes them. I rep 135 to 175. I never go higher. Never! I do very slow, full, pec press about to blow out of my shirt bench presses. I also use a lot of hammer strange isolation machines. Lighter weight but slow and fully contracted, paused reps. People and big weight. Smh...
