It would be difficult to guarantee that any anabolic is definitely going to have no adverse effect on blood pressure. Many of us have invested in a high quality BP cuff and digital meter that can be purchased from most chain pharmacies or med supply houses and check. If you have high BP get a doctor to write you a script for a quality Rx med to bring it down. I'm am not an advocate of playing with homeopathic remedies when it comes to controlling BP. If you have reached the point in your lifting career where you are hoisting extremely heavy weights for reps (e.g you're squatting with more than 600 lbs. on your heavy sets) you are playing with fire if you are running high BP. You're asking for a coronary. Don't play around with this one.
Samsung86Would I still be able to run gear while on meds? My pressure was 140/90 so it's boarder line I guess. I do Crossfit fit so for The most part it's endurance with some heavy lifting
Of course you can run gear while on Rx blood pressure meds. That's the whole idea.
Now, remember, I'm not a doctor, so I'm not sure what his opinion is going to be on a borderline case. He may ask you about your diet, specifically salt intake and ask you to limit that, etc. before moving to a med.
I dunno. Depends on the doc. Good news is that BP meds are not drugs of abuse and if you come out and ask him if it can be lowered by a med, he should not get too bent out of shape. Go for it.
Samsung86Thank you brotha for your input I'll let you know what happens
ACE inhibitors actually work with little to no side effects provided you monitor potassium. I won't go into the details but they lower BP several different ways, unfortunately they indirectly mess with the aldosterone pathway which can screw up your electrolytes a bit so keep potassium intake down if on them and you start to feel weak, dizzy etc.
Steroids that don't aromatize and aren't highly androgenic are easier on your bp but nothing is guaranteed safe. Even tbol var and other mild drugs can raise it. Keep salt intake at around the same amount. Doesn't matter if it's high or low just keep it consistent and your kidneys can work with whatever. Cardio up water up AI on point and stay far away from tren if you have bp issues
What is you BP? Have you had issues with HTN in the past? Have you been having BP issues while on cycle and/or off cycle? Have you had any BW done recently?
In either case, you seem to showing a little concern. I'd have it checked by someone who KNOWS how to take one correctly. In a pinch, you can purchase an at home device that you can self-operate. However, these units are known to be somewhat inaccurate and should be compared to a manual reading to "calibrate" the unit. While you're at it, it's also a great idea to calculate your pulse pressure. Having a narrow pulse pressure is often a sign of CHF, cardiac tamponade, stenosis, ect...bad news.
In case you don't know...Pulse Pressure is defined as the difference between the systolic and diastolic pressure readings. In short, it represents the exertion that the heart generates each time it contracts. If resting blood pressure is 120/80mmHg (systolic/diastolic), pulse pressure is 40.There are many reasons for this to occur. Pulse pressure, as you can see, is a sign but not a diagnosis. Many different diagnoses can account for changes, so it's only one piece of the puzzle.
Elevations in systolic BP, or secondary HTN are almost a given when on AAS, its the diastolic reading that should really raise concern
Before you delve into this a whole lot, I'd take your BP orthostatically/posturally and in 3 positions. Laying down, sitting and standing. In between the readings take a minute or so before taking the next reading. Be sure to note all three readings.
Then, I'd have someone who knows how to accurately take a BP by hand (stethoscope and sphagnomometer) and compare your findings.
Don't mess with hawthorne berries or celery seed extract. That "may" help with very very minor hypertension. In most cases, I'm willing to bet it'll do absolutely nothing. You're better off with a PDE-5 inhibitor (Cialis!!), arginine and L-citrulline. Drinking water; although great for you, actually expands blood volume and raises BP. You should still obviously be drinking lots of water though.
If you really do have HTN/HBP as a lot of us do, a low dose Hydrochlorothiazide/antihypertensive drug is more likely what will be in play if there are no adherent findings with BP assessment techniques and medical intervention is needed.
Everyone who contributed had great advice, this is just my .02.
I know I probably went overboard. I've just seen a ton of people who had dangerously high BP not even know because it was never checked.
Besides.... I was just bored and felt like writing...sorry!
Samsung86Hey buddy right know it's 140/90
Try to drink more water. And take supplements like vitamin C which has diuretic effect. Some food also have diuretic properties like celery and watermelon.
If BP is still high then simply drop the dosage or take BP meds if necessary.
you can use natural supps like the ones mentioned, stack them, hawthorne berry extract, celery seed extract, beetroot juice (awesome for it) herbal teas, heaps of water, potassium, limit sodium intake, cardio, these things can help, giving blood, and a trick that works if you get a really high reading that worries you, get a nice warm bucket of water, put some easy listening music on and dim the lights, chuck your feet in the warm water and relax, with in 10 minutes your readin will be way down, other than that you will have to go see a dr for script meds, even then it sometimes only helps, stay away from eq and anadrol stacks.
Samsung86If u get prescribed meds can you still take anabolics
Try L-Arginine...
http://www.webmd.com/heart/arginine-heart-benefits-and-side-effects
I take it daily and almost immediately brings my BP down.
I also take a good daily vitamin, Taurine, and shit loads of BCAA's. I will say for me Diet is 90% of BP. If i eat some bullshit I instantly feel it in the back of my head and my ears. I go run a couple miles and everything is ok again.
Samsung86Hey buddy what brand of multi do you take
i just take Optimum Nutrition Opti-Men supplement (its 3 daily before breakfast)
Some steroids give me high BP. Some doses give me high BP. Some do not raise my BP at all. It's trial and error. I've found increasing water, cardio and minimizing BP spiking steroids keeps my BP within a healthy range.
For example tren and high test wreck my BP. Primo, var,low test all don't affect my BP. Some will raise it for a bit then it normalizes after blood levels normalize
Trial and error and a blood pressure cuff handy
From my experience nothing really works bro. Some guys can't go over 500mg of test without there bloods going nuts. Things like hawthorn are measure we take to try and minimize high bd. See the thing is you have to try and find your sweet spot. Anabolics will always raise bd the idea is to try and minimize it. You also have to ask yourself if it's worth it. I have high bd for my age, I have a scrip. I get bloods frequently, you have to get bloods man and keep an eye on it. This the best advice I can give you bro.
