T3 & Metabolism Help ?!
ad
Hey guys, my question is: on 100mcg of T3, if I'm dieting hard on 1600 calories (300p, 50c, 30f) do I have to worry about my metabolism slowing down like you normally would dieting on such low calories or does the T3 maintain a high metabolism and allow me to continue to use low calories for faster cutting ?

Hey bro. I hate to be negative Nelly here. But this doesn't pass the smell test. Got any pics. What your doing is dangerous and you will rebound in a very negative way. 5'6" 225. I call bullshit on the body fat. You can get calipers anywhere for 20 bucks. We are here to help you achieve your goals in a SAFE and sound way. You are hearing only what you want and disregarding the advice
Longdave555I appreciate the straight forward advice. My current weight is 200lbs not 225. I should be around 170 peeled maybe a bit more give or take. Basically went in a huge circle seeing the jump on the scale as progress. I'd rather maintain sub 10 for aesthetic proposes and work with a coach from here on out. I'd love to be 225 10% but I have no idea how to get that big. I've noticed with T3 at this dose my fat loss is so much faster then what I thought was possible and my strength gains are almost the same as they were at 230 except I'm always flat so it's hard to go 100% as heavy. Rebound my plan is to start at 2000 calories for 2-3 weeks and take it from there. I will def ask the advice from you guys when im closer to the point of stopping T3 use. I'm also running test and EQ. I appreciate you taking the time to give me an honest opinion even when you know it's not what I want to hear lol
lol @ 100mcg of t3 you should be shedding weight like nothing at 1600cals... muscle and fat. why use so much? 37.5mcg of pharma grade t3 coupled with a 2500-2600 cal diet works great for me. no need to go so extreme. remember, the faster it comes off... the faster youll put it right back on. and at 100mcg id be much too afraid to be burning through lean mass
Longdave555Yea I've noticed it's unreal compared to cutting without T3. I'm okay with a bit of muscle loss to drive into that 7% range as quick as possible. I do appreciate the personal experience with dose and calories. I'm really enjoy how helpful everyone is.
Are u following a protocol for weight loss? The fat seems kind of low. What are the frequencies of your meals?
T3 will increase metabolism regardless of calorie consumption. Right? Learn something new every day here on eroids..
This post should be in a different section.
Longdave555Every 3-4 hours I'm taking down 9oz chicken breast and some PB for my fats on my last meal with a protein bar.
That's what I thought, so the T3 should allow me to cut hard on 1600 calories without slowing down fat loss.
I wasn't sure, thank you for the reply

Listen to Gear Head. His experience is far superior in comparison to mine. You need to find a stopping point and be ready to continue a keto diet (?) with mod to max cardio 3-4 times per week at 30 min. Maybe Gear can explain this better, but after using T3 the body seems to rebound and slows the metabolism down....
Longdave555As soon as I drive into 7% or wherever I feel I want to be I'll cut the T3 completely and begin to let my body produce it's own. I've read that 2-3 weeks is all it takes and during that time I would slowly taper up from 2000 calories adding carbs on top of my protein now. I'll certainly come ask you guys what you think when I'm closer to my stopping point.
The T3 can also eat right into your muscle tissue as well and your body will feast on your lean muscle mass as you diet with the result that you may end up "skinny fat." So, it's not as cut and dry as you would like it to be bro, sorry. You may end up HORRIFIED with the result.
There is a rebound effect too...right? Doesnt taking T3 actually slow u down when u stop taking it?
Longdave555I agree it's a risk and I've read the same as you just said. Based on my strength being in a really depleted state I would say so far I'm losing minimal muscle. This is the result of a dirty bulk gone wrong. Losing a bit of muscle but hitting the sub 8% is okay with me. I plan to hire a coach and take growing in a leaner state more serious. Thanks again, good to know you guys give it real
You will also find to your displeasure that "lean bulks" don't work either. Those of us that compete (like myself) who have been doing it for more than 10 years will affirm that. If you're not prepping for a show you can start a bulk at 10 or eve 12% and you should do fine. If you want to lean out to the single digits, it's not going to hurt anything. Should actually help. BUT, you need to do a conventional bulk from that point. There are enough competitive bodybuilders on this site to talk through whatever your objectives are.
Longdave555I really appreciate that. Once I reach my desired 7-8% body fat for an aesthetics purpose I would love to propose my drug protocol & diet to see what you guys think. Again, thank you for taking the time to respond to this, it means a lot.
Bro, I sure hope that you're ready to step on stage and get your pro card. You're consuming the absolute upper limit of what is remotely reasonable at 100 mcg / day. Generally speaking, T3 will allow you to consume more calories that you would normally consume in a hard cut and still lose fat, so yes, in effect it will support a higher metabolism. Not without the possibility of consequences. I don't like thyroid manipulation in comp prep and even less in general weight loss. This whole issue is the subject of a novel. Why don't we start reading here:

Bro, looking at your stats, you are either a national / international level athlete or you have a lot of fat to loose. Do you have any idea what your body fat % is? I have this uneasy feeling it is quite high since you didn't provide it in your stats and if that is the case, please ramp yourself off of T3. You're trying to take a shortcut to weight loss in a very unhealthy way.
Longdave555Awesome thank you for answering that. I am not competing, I wanted to make sure that the T3 would continue to support a higher metabolism so I could use lower calories to cut faster and not slow down.
All I've read on T3 leads me to believe that natural production will re start once I'm off within a few weeks, and during that time I should keep calories lower then normal and taper them back up.
I am absolutely abusing T3 to help allow me to stay on 1600 calories and cut fat fast and for an extended period of time lol my body fat I would say is 18-20% based on what I look like at 12-14%. I'm also running 600mg test e / 600mg eq + aromasin.
Thank you for the help answering my question
U need to get a pair of calipers...
Longdave555I'll see if I can get a pair.
X2...something doest seem right...
