hemlockOGWell my dog would be like my least favorite child then. ... you know? The one thats loud as fuxk and is financially draining and gets in trouble but i still say i love them to their face..
My dog is a mix of god knows what, got him from a shelter that saves pups from other kill shelters. Not sure what he is but I am going to get his DNA checked, got a kit on the way, pretty excited to find out. i think he is an Akita, St Bernard and Huskey mix, but I'm not sure. He's a great looking dog, solid and very lean
Guys got a question thinking about adding a new family member and been looking at American bulldogs. Are these dogs great family dogs and how's there temperament with kids love some real life experiences from my fellow dog lovers
A mate of mine has two of them, a male and a female from the same litter. Has three kids, 3, 6 and 8. Both of the dogs are great with them.
I read there great with kids and family dog and can be very protective of his family. Glad to hear this hopefully I hear more good stories.
Definitely a good breed with the kids. The youngest climbs on the male like she's riding a horse, doesn't mind one bit.
DCHI1Pure bread flashy brindle make boxer. Great dogs! They need lots of exercise.
Harley-Davidson2 full bread German shepherds a rottie and rescue a pit this week
StevebI've been looking for an all black German Shepherd but they're pricey.
shop for temperament not color ;-)
StevebNah I want a black German Shepherd or a black Cane Corso. Third choice would be an Irish Wolf hound. They are all pricey but I will buy one by the end of the year.
Cane Corso will be my next dog. In person they are amazing animals. I bought my Akita just because he was almost solid black, lol je turned out to be a good pick.
Harley-DavidsonLittle princess
Very pricey much larger than the tan sheperds great dogs last time I was browsing I found some 800-1200$ easy no less
StevebI seen one that looked like a black wolf, it was huge.
Yup I think black sheperds are a hybrid from sheperd/wolf mix I was reading something like that regardless they are beautiful and strong
shepherds are a hybrid wolf mixway back ... black is just a color they bred for just like pure white .. size etc.. again breeding .. but temperament is everything and everything the akc gets a hold of they ruin so you'd want to go to looking for working dog lines not show dog lines ... going cheap unless you know the breeder is a crap shoot .. it is important to do your research otherwise you end up with a nervous anxious dog that will present behavior problems as they mature .. I grew up with shepherds absolutely love them and I have a whole pack of em if the neighborhood association wouldn't freak out ..lol
Oh yea I agree I go for the working breed I'm not a fan of the show breeds they seem to lack a lot when ur training them they sure are beautiful though some people really go all out brushing there dogs day n night
they lack drive and heart ... if such a thing can be said about a gsd .. but drive isn't what the show lines are looking for ... we tried to convert a few females to working stock and it's been a slow go .. they are too insecure.
They seem to have a low attention span as well it's like the show dogs can't focus on the task folks don't understand when it's a show dog it's just for looks I always see people in the parks trying to train their pretty dogs and nada they won't listen lol Belgian malinois all the way German Shepard would be my 2nd choice
lol... I bet my left hand that some of that is the trainer.... why you trying to lay training on a dog in a park with a thousand things going on ?? lmao.. I probably wouldn't pay attention either ;-)
Dalmatian is mine wife has two poodles. They are great esp the Dalmatian.
We've now got another husky to join our ranks. Rescue dog we pick up from the centre next week.
Husky , black lab mix. Got her off a porch people were selling puppies from when she was a puppy. She acts like a husky though. Crazy sometimes lol!
100% pure bred full Akita is mine. this is my 3rd, had 2 others that lived to be 13.5 years each until father time decided to take them from me. Just got another on in February after a 1.5 year break and he is all stud.. No better dog IMO with the family, friends etc. Not to dog friendly but that is just the breed.
I also have an American Akita. Hes a beast and also not dog friendly but loyal to the end.
1 German Shepherd puppy (10Weeks) and 1 Alaskan Malamute (4yrs, 110lbs)... excellent dogs. Alaskan is great if I need cardio, cuz he can run for days. German is still a baby but I grew up with one and they are true protective and family dogs
1 X Rottwelier and 1 X Siberian Husky,
The husky is the hardest to control, rottweiler doesn't give a shit about anything expect hes bone and balls.
2 English Staffies!!! Perfect little nuggets for our training studio!
Two golden retrievers. Great dogs but shed like crazy. Most of the anti shed shit is a gimmick believe me, my wife has probably bought all of it.
I even bought that roomba to just zip around and pick up hair and our younger one destroyed the dam thing,
StevebChihuahuas, 3 of them. Each one I found on the street.
How in the hell did you find 3 ???
StevebI didn't find the all at once. The first one I found 7 years ago in front of my house. The other two I found while jogging on the street.
My old neighbor trained hers to use a liter box. I lived by her five years and never knew she had them until I was giving her a table my wife didn't like anymore.
Belgian malinois great breed smart and very loyal
Grrl has two working Malinois ... crazy fuckers .. they ate couch while we were out one evening... It looked like it had snowed inside
Lol were they puppies?? I love that breed easy to train super loyal they will die with u type of shit I'm actually trying to find a solid breeder ATM
well you could say they were puppies ;-) if you are looking for solid working dogs I can probably steer you in the correct direction .... my girls are trained in shutzhund, psa, and general protection work .. they eat people on a regular basis on command ... and sometimes they are sneaky b****** and get in some dirty bites but I love em to death
Oh I'm sure they are great dogs !! Both girls huh??? Did u ever consider breeding them?? Let me know ill pick up a puppy and some ur tren & test ;-). I love that breed I got see them working a lot with one of my good friends was assigned one in the spec ops community when I was training with them. the dog is a beast but one loyal beast trained in a foreign language and total stealth tactics unbelievable breed I would choose a malinois over a pit any day
lol... I don't have time for breeding but if I do I ll let you know .. god knows I have people bugging me about it .. those spec ops dogs are the cream of the crop
Oh yea they are easily 50k$ and that me low balling my friend got assigned that k9 in the task force from what I saw I wouldn't consider buying another breed period.
Oh please Grrrl send me a fr and keep me in mind also could u post a pic of ur dogs?? Are they light tan ?? Or dark tan ??
I have a good friend that breeds german shepherds I'd take any one of his dogs for protection work any day of the year and if I had more time and space I d have more dogs
110 pound pitbull named sam ,great genetics ,he's huge muscular,
I have a pitbull mix. Don't have any idea what he's mixed with. His previous owner had him tied up to a tree and was feeding him scraps. Great dog though. Brought him home and he immediately bonded with my 8 year old son. Had him for 5 months and his weight is over 58 pounds and he's extremely happy. Just goes to show you that you that not all pitbulls are bad!
I had a staffordshire......great dog!
Pits are among the most loyal dog breeds and are amazing companions. Love the name BTW.
A hound mix....looks like a beagle and a saint bernard, almost 45 pounds at 5 months. Has the body colorings of a beagle, and the face, jowls and stance of a saint bernard. Great looking dog who's awesome w the kids. Glad I saved him from the shelter, he's really a great dog!
GearofWarBack in October when I was going through some serious shit and dealing with an enormous betrayal in my life I decided to get a new BFF. So I got a Pembroke Welsh Corgi. She's been amazing. Great with other dogs, smart(incredibly intelligent actually), loves people, and most importantly loves my kids. The cute single ladies love her too lol

She is cute.
I'm about to get a second dog after pressuring the Mrs. Not sure what we'll end up with, it will be a rescue dog though. Will have to be able to put up with Husky beating him / her up regularly though, so one that can handle the rough stuff.
English bulldog !
