Which are you? I know cat men who say that having a dog is a weakness. They say that cats are more satisfying. They make you work for their affection. Dogs offer it up unconditionally on a silver platter no matter how much you neglect them. They live for your attention. Maybe thats true. I love all animals. But a cat is still a pussy!

I love my kitty, he will set on my shoulders and i can walk around with him in public, he just lays there like a living scarf, its funny, hes more like a stuffed animal that eats and shits than an uppity cat lol

AnonI've had dogs but I've always been a cat man. Where I live there are a lot of eastern brown snakes - the third most venemous land snake in the world. My cats help keep my kids safe from snakes. Better they kill the snakes near the house than let my little kids find them by stepping on them.
One of my cats got bitten twice this last summer. The first time I took him to the vet and I had to sign a piece of paper saying I understood it could cost up to $2000 to save his life. When I found him the second time he'd been hiding in my basement for 36 hours and was paralysed from the neck down. It cost $130 to euthanase him but I cried. I give them just one chance. Too expensive otherwise. He was a beautiful cat. Half Bengal with a smooth agouti coat. He loved playing with water and playing with snakes. I'd take a hot bath after working out and he'd stand on the edge of the bath and splash the water.
Years ago I had a cat bring four brown snakes inside one summer. All chewed up and not going anywhere in a hurry but pretty angry. One day he came to the back door but wouldn't eat dinner. He lead me under the house to show me the six foot snake he'd chewed up. Too big to carry so he had to bring me to it. The other cat was circling around looking nervous. The next day he did the same thing but took me to show me the other cat completely paralysed with ants biting at his lips and eyelids. I washed the ants off with a hose and took him to the vet to be saved. $2000. Thanks buddy.
I had a Jack Russel terrier once that would grab a brown snake by the tail and thrash it against her body. You wouldn't hear any barking, just "slap slap slap slap slap" until the snake's body split open and its guts sprayed out. I'd have to put her in the bath to wash her afterwards. There are brown snakes on Guam. Made it there on ships from Australia. Highest density in the world. Live in trees. Nasty. I've heard they use Jack Russels to kill them there.
Cats are much cleaner snake killers. And they know to lie still after they've been bitten. Not uncommon for them to last 48 hours. A dog will run around and be dead in less than an hour. I've learned to shut the cat flap during snake season though so they don't bring them inside to impress me anymore. Impress me outside furry buddy!

hi guys, well considering my wife and I run a rotti dog rescue that pulls these lovable critters out of kill shelters, attend to any health issues, and recondition any behavior issues before placing them with wounded vets, I'd say I'm partial to the dog. however we have adopted a Maine coon cat for our daughter and I got to say that kiity pulls on my heart strings as well.
I'm a dog person. Don't like cats and as far as I'm concerned you can't trust them. One minute they are purring as you pet the little fuckers next thing ya know it turns around and scratches the shit outta you! My pastor even says that all cats belong in hell!

I adopted an amstaff pup from a kill shelter (last pup from a litter of 6) and she has to be the sweetest thing on the planet. It also amazes me how intelligent she is, I've even managed to teach her how to recycle and throw out things into the garbage... I'm still in shock.
Our husky is a rescue dog. Someone used to beat him so he was removed by the RSPCA. Amazing lad, my daughter adores him and vice versa. We love him to bits, no idea how anyone could have treated him so badly :(

A dog will follow you blindly and love you unconditionally, but a cat, you've gotta earn thier respect it is not freely given.
As far as a cat being a "pussy" , I suppose overbred house cats are pretty soft.
But I have a 23 lb F2 savannah cat that I watched rip a mature male racoon to shreds late at night last summer. I had to go find it and finish it, it screamed in agony for hours.
It all depends on the breed, and how you raise the animal.

Yeah one of my best mates has a Pity, will literally lick you to death and wanna play all day. Gets along with my two Bullies really well. All comes down to the owner with how there brought up i reckon, seen it first hand.
My avi is my little dog, very friendly and not a problem at all, she doesn't even bark when someone knocks on the door. Always had a dog in the family so grew up round then. She will be my last one though, i think by the time she kicks the bucket I'll be about 50.
I actually like cats as well but their to aloof for me, i prefer my pets with personality and character which most cats are lacking imo.
We have one of each. Our cat showed up about ten years ago. I heard a cat crying in the ditch across the road, went over and found this skinny, wet, female that looked like she had had kittens not long ago. If she was feral she was the smartest one I have ever saw. She warmed up to us in a hurry and has been with us ever since. If she is outside you can call her like a damn dog and she will come running. I have seen her kill 3 mice in ten minutes as well. To top it off she insists on sleeping between my legs, on me or beside me every night,lol.

I know. I have to de-worm her a few times in the summer. It is easy to say keep them in but trust me when I say they will drive you insane if you try. I also laugh at these guys that say cats have no personality, they do, but they won't spend all of their time kissing ass like a dog that is for sure.
