Hello all. I started a transformation journey in December of 2025. I started at 285 pounds and I'm only 5ft 9. I was able to lose 80 pounds through calorie deficit, walking 10k steps a day and strength training 5 days a week. I was on Dr prescribed trt dosage of 100mg per week until about 5 weeks ago. I also started taking reta about 6 weeks ago. I am now down to 189 for a total loss of 96 pounds. Im looking for any advice or help any one is willing to give. I love to learn. Thanks for allowing me to be a part of this forum.

Rather than walking 10k step jump it to a 5k run with high hydration. Get your heart rate up and keep it up. Then go right into strength and add protein as you pump up. Make the gym your bitch and you will get the respect you are looking for
I have read that running burns more calories. I have also read that walking and keeping heart rate in zone 2 burns more fat. Any input on this.
I look more for O2 saturation. A pulse oximeter should be in everybody's kit. Building muscle burns the fat naturally. For motivation I tell the guys the slow guys get caught by the cops and for the ladies a fit girl can outrun a rapist. Notice I didn't say out walk! Train your body for real life situations and you will walk with your head up high and shoulders back. You got this!!
Thank you. I see exactly what you are saying.
Welcome to the show
Regarding the cut, just keep at it. Stay in the deficit, train hard, sleep well, and get those steps in and the last of the fat will melt off. If you ever feel completely burnt out, have a day or two of high carbs and that should get you through another week
I've been avoiding carbs like the plague since I started losing weight but have definitely noticed when I'm low on energy my body craves carbs. Thank you
