Need Suggestions for finding/talking to doctor about monitoring my health while on aas

ad

Just wondering how or if you guys are breaking aas use to your doctor. I really want to find a doctor that I can go to whenever I want to get bloods done. The problem isn't finding a doctor. The problem is what to say to him when I get there. Can they tell my insurance company what we talk about? The last thing I need is having a major problem and my insurance drops me because of negligence or some bs like that. I live in the states. Thanks for your help

I just drove 3 hours to get bloods done today. You gotta do what you gotta do. I would avoid having my doc do testosterone checks while on cycle at all costs. That shit is bound to come back and haunt you.

I think it's best to stay on top of your own health status while on cycle, and see your doc after pct or while on cruise.

Yea I just checked it out and I think I can drive about 45 min to another legal state. Thanks brotha

I've heard of people getting lucky with some drs, hippa laws probably vary state to state. Abd may just depend on the Dr what he wants to report. If possible if you want a Dr. Pay cash and don't use insurance. So if a file.is made about it, insurance doesn't receive a copy of it. but I just couldn't risk it. I believe rusty hooker said on another forum thread like this one. If insurance finds out about steroid abuse. You maybe flagged in the system forever. Potentially, dropped coverage, denied life insurance, sky high premiums if.you can get coverage. Just what I've heard, don't know if it's true or not. Just seems like they are harder on aas usage. Then illicit drug use. Your a drug addict they pay for rehab or suboxone or methadone. And no problems getting coverage. But inject some test to be healthier and denied coverage there's a difference in using steroids and steroid abuse just like with any substance.. But a herion addict has no problem, getting insurance.

Johnjohn's picture

Yea that's what I'm afraid of. I'm going to have to research deep and then prob get lucky also. Seems like slot of bs

trainforgain's picture

I mean honestly though, I think you would be better driving across state lines and getting private bloods. There are enough people on here that can tell you where your numbers should be. And you don't have to worry about being denied coverage. That's all a Dr will do, is say everything's good, this is elevated etc. If you do pay cash and if you do get insurance switch to another Dr. And say you don't have a pcp. Just a big risk to me, I'd rather get my own bloods, and see what's going on and if I need to fix something. Then possibly ruin the rest of my life's health coverage. Idk if you have kids, or will. But you get flagged for insurance your kids abd wife can't get coverage under you. So you may screw more than just yourself. What about your elder years, getting sub par health care because of wanting blood tests 30 years prior. You may get lucky with one you may not. Say the Dr says he's cool thinking your gonna say something about drug abuse. But is completely against aas. You can't control what he puts in that file. And once ifs there it's there. Or you have a falling out with the Dr, it's just a scribble to him and your life is ruined. I have to look out for my best interest and my wife and kids, I can't be red flagged for coverage. I need coverage and they do to abd I need life insurance to leave them something if I'm killed in a car wreck or something. As I don't have a savings or anything to leave. So to me. I'll keep getting bloods privately and checking the numbers out. So what bud if you even have to Drive 2-3 hours. Your privacy is protected abd your future and family's future. If a lot of drs were cool we would all have one. Most drs don't know shit about aas. Even urologist that do try don't know a lot most of the time. A lot of trt doctors won't even write a ai

Thanks brother

I'm open with my Pcp. You can obtain a pcp and get a full physical with test and estrogen twice a year bro. Insurance won't cover lets say you want to do it every three month's, has to be every other three month's. Best option if all fails is to find a anti aging doc. Make sure that anti aging doc excepts insurance cause the one's that don't are mad expensive.

Johnjohn's picture

That's my only option right now. How did you tell him. Did you ask if he has to put the info into the system about aas usage? Or does it stay confidential. I know there is all kinds of laws about confidentiality but I don't know the grey areaS

juiceball8082's picture

I think she puts it under some other diagnosis. I originally started out with an anti aging doc so my insurance knows I'm on test. I dropped him cause he would want to see me every three months and i was paying my co pay and he's under the tables bs $50.00 testosterone consultation fee. Trt twice a year for me on bloods is plenty.

jimmie's picture

I started with my pcp. Asked to check test and estro levels due to low libido and tiredness (OFF CYCLE). Tested and sent to a urologist. More blood and sent me to an endo. I asked the endo if he would report all of our conversation, he said no, so I was honest with him. He sent me back to the urologist for trt....I didn't tell that guy shit. Less who know, the better.

Yea it seems like a thin line. That's why I'm trying to get some feedback on this. I wanna play my cards right. If they don't test for testosterone on a normal physical blood panel it defeats the purpose. I want to see kidney and liver function but I def want to see test for pct. I don't understand what the hell is the big deal about getting blood tests in the usa?! Wtf

jimmie's picture

There's only a few states where you can't get private blood tests. And they're private. So insurance, your doctors, law enforcement, nobody sees them. Too bad I'm in one of those states though.

Normally testosterone levels are not checked. Hence if you go in for a physical you say nothing and let them tell you what they find.

Johnjohn's picture

So is it wishful thinking that I'm going to find a doctor that will monitor my health while on aas?

Johnjohn's picture

And by monitor my health I just mean blood tests pre cycle and post cycle. Nothing fancy

Greg's picture

I'd think so. (I mean not likely to find one)

I go to my doc and get normal bloods etc. for annual physical. Even when on cycle.

If BP was too high, we'd talk about getting it down. Cholesterol not looking good... same thing. Never did AAS come into question.

I would go to AnyLabsNow(.com) to get bloods for testing testosterone when I was on cycle.

I've done that for years

crazymofo's picture

You live in the US. Why not use privatemdlabs.com or labsmd.com?? Without insurance you will save a lot of money and at the same time you will keep it confidential. And if any complications occur you can always go to the doc/er in an emergency type of situation.

Johnjohn's picture

I do have insurance. Through my work

crazymofo's picture

Yea was just about to edit I saw you were afraid to loose it not that you had.

Johnjohn's picture

I'll have to check the labs you mentioned. Can't I just tell them I don't have insurance. I don't see why it matters if I have insurance or not?

crazymofo's picture

Hell I have never even shown my ID before! No insurance, completely confidential. Just pay out of pocket online, you will print out a requisition paper, take that paper down(you may be able to make an appointment depending on location mine does), hand them the paper, they then take you blood do the test and will email you the results.

Johnjohn's picture

I just don't understand why the fuck I can't walk into a lab and get MY blood tested?! Would love to hear why I can't if anybody knows

crazymofo's picture

You can. I get it done all the damn time, other people on this site do too. Look at my profile I even posted a recent blood test. I got it done from labsmd.com. You simply go to the site make an order and then go to a local lab and have bloods drawn. You never give any insurance information and its 100% confidential. Only problem is a few stats in the north east don't allow that type of internet payment.

Johnjohn's picture

I'll look at the site when I get off. Do you know how much it costs?

Johnjohn's picture

You don't need a referring doctor? Do you know off hand what states are exempt

crazymofo's picture

No doctor, nothing. Two different websites/companies:

www.labsmd.com

www.privatemdlabs.com

Both offer a Female Hormone Panel for around $60-70. That test covers the basics of Test,LH,FSH and E2 while also giving a CBC that's helpful. Then you can always pay more for better tests. If you look at my last test on my pics that one cost $170 and gave much more.

Johnjohn's picture

Found a lab in the next state over 45 min away. Thanks a lot bro

CBBurrr's picture

the labs from privatemd.com cut off a >1500 unless you upgrade to the $95 test that is LC/Ms

Johnjohn's picture

I'm gonna get that $172 test. Male hormone with igf and a bunch of other shit. I wanna see how bad my liver and kidneys are getting beat on. Didn't you say they don't Id you?

CBBurrr's picture

never been asked for an id in my western state.

Johnjohn's picture

Lol just my luck. Of course I'm in one of the states that DOESNT participate. Back to square one

crazymofo's picture

I have never used this service but this lab offers BW for NJ, NY and RI:

https://www.directlabs.com/access/Home/tabid/10599/language/en-US/Defaul...

Johnjohn's picture

Yea checked it no labs within 150+ miles. Brings me back to my point of just trying to talk to a doctor and hoping he is open minded. Fucking total blower. Pisses me off why some states won't allow you to test your own blood.......

crazymofo's picture

wow that sucks major bro. I really have run out of options. Hopefully someone with a similar situation will chime in.

Johnjohn's picture

Awesome bro. Thanks for the help. That's why this site is the shit. I'm going to check out the site when I get home. For the 170$ blood does it include igf? Hopefully the state I live in participate with those sites
